2 3 Obtain USB Drivers Internet 1 Download LCI-USB Drivers.zip to an empty directory from the PartnerNet web site ( Password required. 2 Unzip LCI-USB Drivers.zip. PC From SET v6.4 or greater the drivers are located in Program Files\Trend Control Systems\Support Files\LCI USB Drivers directory on the PC. 4 Connect to PC Caution: Do Not remove the USB connector during use. USB Cable supplied Type A Type B LCI Note that the LCI may only be used to access a local IQ system, connection to remote systems using TMN or other similar communication nodes is not supported. 2 TG Issue 3 02/02/2011

3 5 Install USB Drivers Windows Vista 1 Connect to PC (step 4). Windows XP 1 Connect to PC (step 4). 2 Select No Not this time. 3 Click Next>. 4 Select Install from a list or specific location. 5 Click Next>. 6 Select the Include this location in the search check box. 7 Click Browse. 2 Click Locate and install driver software (recommended). 3 Click I don`t have the disk. Show me other options. 4 Click Browse my computer for driver software (advanced). 5 Click Browse. 8 Navigate to the directory containing the drivers, see step (3). 9 Click OK. 10 Click Next>. 6 Navigate to the directory containing the drivers, see step (3). 7 Click OK. 8 Click Next>. 11 Click Continue Anyway. 9 Click Install this driver software anyway. 12 Click Finish. After a while the Found New Hardware Wizard is displayed again. It is necessary to follow the procedure above again as two drivers need to be installed. 10 Click Close. 4 5 Install USB Drivers (continued) Windows 7 1. Connect to PC (step 4). 2. Click the Windows start button and select Control Panel. 8. Browse (or enter) the location where SET has been installed, and click Next. 9. A security warning appears; select Install this driver software anyway. 10. Upon successful completion of the installation, the following window appears. 3. Select Hardware and Sound. 11. Click Close to go back to the Device Manager window. 12. Double-click Ports (COM & LPT). 13. Right-click on USB Serial Port and select Update Driver Software. 4. Select Device Manager: 14. Repeat steps 7 to 11. If the installation was successful, the LCI USB now appears under Ports (COM & LPT). 5. In the Device Manager window, doubleclick Other devices. 6. Right-click Novar Trend LCI USB and select Update Driver Software. The device is now ready to use on COM4. NOTE: Not all devices will install to COM4. The COM port allocation is determined by the wizard on the basis of the next free COM port, as designated in the PC registry. 7. Windows XP 1 Right click My Computer and click Properties from the displayed menu. The System Properties dialogue box is displayed. 2 Click the Hardware tab and then click Device Manager. 9 4 Uninstalling The USB Drivers If required the drivers can be completely removed from the system by following the procedure below: 1 Uninstall USB Drivers Windows XP 1 Connect the. 2 Right click My Computer and click Properties from the displayed menu. The System Properties dialogue box is displayed. 3 Click the Hardware tab and then click Device Manager. The Device Manager is displayed. 4 Click + next to Ports (COM & LPT). 5 Right click Trend Controls LCI USB and select Uninstall from the displayed menu. 6 Click OK. 7 Click + next to Universal Serial Bus controller. 8 Right click Trend Controls LCI USB and select Uninstall from the displayed menu. 6 Click OK. The Confirm Device Uninstall dialogue box is displayed. 11 Select the Delete the driver software for this device check box. 12 Click OK. 5 Disposal WEEE Directive: At the end of their useful life the packaging and product should be disposed of by a suitable recycling centre.
