2 Trend building management systems play a crucial role in tens of thousands of premises. Operating silently and largely unseen, they provide accurate energy efficient control and monitoring of heating, ventilation and air conditioning plant, and often other services such as lighting. Understandably, perhaps, most building occupants remain unaware of their existence. However, though a BMS is designed to perform its many tasks completely automatically, it should not simply be forgotten or only referred to on rare occasions. For within the system is a wealth of monitored data and it is only by making use of this that the technology s true potential can be fully exploited. Catering for all capabilities the operator interfaces that provide access to Trend building management systems are a product of many years of research, much of which has gone into making them exceptionally user friendly. As a consequence, it is not just the few who understand building services control that find them simple to use, but also many first time users and those positively technophobic. They do in fact make Trend systems accessible to anyone who works in a building. So that the non-technical or occasional user should not become confused, all Trend s latest operator interfaces have the facility to use an IQ controllers Display & Directory Modules to tailor data displays to the needs of individuals or groups. For instance, a school caretaker or shop manager might just need to view space temperature readings and adjust heating plant on/off times and this would be the only data/settings ever available to them. On the other hand, a maintenance technician would need to see a great deal more, including details of plant alarms, running hours and performance history, while an energy manager would naturally be most interested in system monitored readings of heating fuel, electricity and water consumption. A building services engineer would probably want access to all data and be able to make a variety of system changes, including fine-tuning control loops.

3 963 Supervisor The 963 Supervisor is a graphical, real-time, user interface. It enables the user to monitor plant or building services, and make changes to the way the building is controlled from a graphical display. The 963 is a client/server based software package where a client comprises nothing more than a web browser. It is compatible with all Trend controllers including IQ3xcite and is suitable for any size of Trend system. 963 can work on a variety of Windows operating platforms. Its web server platform allows users to interface with 963 via a browser, increasing access to the BMS without the need for additional proprietary software. Engineered through simple drag and drop menus operation some key features include: enhanced alarm monitoring and occupation time control connection to remote sites over TCP/IP or autodialled links alarm handling with alarm retransmission and logging complete control and monitoring of BMS from colour graphics pages on the 963 machine or from a web browser the security system ensures that the user is only presented with information and functions that are relevant to their authority industry standard SQL database providing flexibility, scalability and security full international language support in conjunction with the IQ3xcite. 963 variants include: 963 Secure Designed for the pharmaceutical industry it focuses on how monitored data is accessed and control settings entered. 963 handles the complex supervisory issues around the Food & Drug Administration regulation 21 CFR Part 11. There is also a powerful feature built into 963 Secure which is its ability to automatically calculate the Mean Kinetic Temperature in drug storage areas that it colllects from the Trend BMS. 963 SMS Direct Is an optional feature associated with the 963 Supervisor. It enables users to send alarm messages directly to a GSM mobile phone - without the need for pager bureaus or SMS gateways.with 963 SMS Direct, users can connect the GSM modem directly into their computer running 963 SMS Direct. Users can quickly and simply compile text messages for contacting staff or mobile engineers via the 963. This is achievable from both 963 Server and web based 963 Client. 963 SNMP Allows the retransmission of business effecting alarms from a Trend system to IT monitoring systems, thereby reducing down time on IT-data operations.

4 Network Display IQView provides unprecedented user interaction with the Trend system. It is the most intuitive interface Trend have produced, due to its contact and in turn context sensitive functionality. It is a self configuring, touch screen display designed to simplify usage. System access is provided via a navigator tree, enabling controller selection, and access to modules, graphs, alarms, and timezones. IQView comes as standard with a colour screen, and RS232, Ethernet, and IQ proprietary network connections. The Mono version has a black and white screen and uses only RS232. Using a controllers Display and Directory modules views can be tailored to match a users function, which maximises the utility of your BMS. IQView provides: easy adjustment of knobs, switches, time zones & directories Ethernet, Trend network, RS232 connection options surface or rear panel mount versions colour and mono display variants self configuring on connection to network communicates with all controllers on local or remote networks. 916 Mobile Display Software Trend s 916MDS works with hardware platforms running Microsoft Pocket PC, and provides an interface with the Trend system for monitoring and adjustment of parameters within Trend controllers. The 916 is designed to make Trend system interaction even easier, and more responsive. It uniquely saves time and assists users with prioritising service calls, by enabling an operator to dial in remotely (hardware allowing), check the importance of an alarm, and decide the best course of action or which call to attend first. Specifically designed for mobile users it provides access to a Trend system wherever and whenever required. It sits seamlessly within the intuitive environment of the pocket PC market which remains a cost effective platform compared to laptops. The 916 can access parameters in all IQ and IQL controllers and connects via PSTN land line, GSM mobile phone & TCP/IP over Ethernet. Function include: displaying of alarms logging recorded data for off-line analysis use of the phone book for simple site number management.

5 Display Panel The Display Panel enables the user to view and adjust selected parameters within an IQ controller. It provides all the facilities necessary for the operation of a stand-alone building control system. Four programmable buttons make commonly used values available by single key selection. The Display Panel is an option and may either be: a handheld unit (HDP), integrally mounted in an IQ controller (DP), or front panel mounted (FP). The Display Panel has no intelligence of its own; the program for its operation resides in the controller to which it is connected, and it can only access information in the connected controller. All adjustments from the Display Panel can be PIN protected using the IQ controller s built-in security system. Smart Display The Smart Display (SDU) is a wall mounting user interface that gives monitoring and management access to all data and settings within a Trend IQ or IQL controller. The stylish design features discreet white plastic casework with responsive illuminated push buttons for ease of use. The SDU s compact size and modern aesthetics ensure suitability for use throughout a building, from plant rooms to office spaces. Its intuitive operation puts the world of BMS into the everyday language of the operator. Some key features include: 4 line, 20 character back lit display high contrast technology facilitates usage in a wider range of applications 3 variants - SDU-XCITE, SDU-IQ, SDU-LON easy installation on standard back boxes (US and Danish variants also available). Room Display The Room Display is a wall mounting unit containing a temperature sensor and setpoint control, with options for occupancy and fan speed indication and control. The display is clear and easy to read and works out of box on default settings, with configurable parameters. There is a single power/signal connection to Trend controllers with both IQ- RJ11 plug/socket connection and IQL- 2 wire bus versions.
