4 Login cont d The first time you log in, you may be presented with your subscription account page. o o This is where you can check your contact info, view payments, renew your subscription or even print a receipt. From this site you can access the WealthElements application by clicking the WealthElements link on the top right side of the page. To access the WealthElements application, click on this link. 5 Login cont d For sponsored versions Type the URL of your specific version in the address line of your browser. (It will be provided to you.) a) This will display your version s logo and colours. Login using the username and password provided to you. OR WealthElements Home Page b) Some sponsored versions access the application directly through their back-office system. 6 Add and access sessions and clients The Home page WealthElements access and navigation The Home page is where you create and select sessions and clients. The first time you log in, the page will be empty. What is a session? A session is a record of The first thing to do is create a new information, such as a retirement projection or a session and enter a client. portfolio review, recorded at a specific date and time. Click this button. Click the SAVE button. Once you click SAVE, the session will appear in the main Sessions page and the client will appear in the Clients page. You can then open, copy or delete the session using the Actions menu on the right of the row. June 2018 Page 6 of 13
7 Add and access sessions and clients cont d The Home page cont d The default view is your list of sessions. Click on the Clients item in the left menu to view your list of clients. The Settings icon lets you modify your own user information, preferences, data and default values. Open the Search row. Documents and videos for the application can be found in the Library. Work with sessions or clients. Use the Actions menu to open, copy or delete this session. For new sessions and/or clients. By default, the list is sorted by Last Modified date: most recent to oldest 10 per page. Click on any column header to sort by that column. The Search row, accessed by the magnifying tool, lets you manage your sessions and clients. Filter your existing sessions by typing all or part of the Main client or Session Name in the search field. Sort by column: hover over any header then select up or down. Once you have selected/created a client session you can then access modules such as Asset Allocation Analysis, Financial Planning or Insurance Planning. Important note: Only basic client information is constant in all sessions for a client: accounts, holdings, investment scenarios and the elements in the projections can change in each session. 8 Add and access sessions and clients cont d To change clients and/or sessions Click on the Home button that appears on the top right of any page, to then find and open a different client and/or session from the Home page. Once back on the Home page, you can search in your sessions list (see previous page) or in your clients list. Use the Actions menu to open, create or search through the client s sessions, or to edit or delete this client. For new clients and/or sessions. You can also change, add new or delete sessions for a client, once that client is loaded, by going directly to their Sessions page; by clicking the top item on the left main menu.(not available in all versions.) 9 Add and access sessions and clients cont d Copying a session You can copy a session from the main Home pages (Sessions or Clients page) or from the sessions tab once you have loaded a specific client. When you choose to copy a session you are presented with two options. 1. The default selection is "Client Information only", which includes the account(s) and cash flows (if applicable) but nothing else. 2. If you want to copy all the data from all the modules, select the "Entire Session" option. The session name defaults to the creation date but can be modified by simply over-typing with your own text e.g. Retmnt review Important note: Only basic client information (the first tab in the client information module) is constant is all of a client s sessions: accounts, holdings, investment scenarios and the elements in the projections can change in each session. 10 Navigation Home page menu Once a session is loaded, the main menu will appear. The Sessions page displays all the various sessions you have created. It allows you to filter by session related criteria and then load, copy or delete a session, or create a new one. The Library page contains documents and videos for the application. The Clients page displays all the clients you have created (and in some versions, imported). Here you can filter by specific client related criteria, and then load, copy or delete a client or session, or create a new one. The main menu Once you have loaded a client session, the main navigation menu appears on the left hand side. Simply click on the name of the module you want to work with. This is the name of the client that is currently loaded. (This is only a label.) The Client Information module contains basic contact information about the client, as well as account and cashflow data. This allows you to view and edit all existing sessions for this client. This module contains the Retirement and Education needs analysis calculators. The currently loaded module is bolded. Clicking on the module name will display its sub-menu(s). The step/page currently loaded is displayed in a contrasting colour with a bar of the same colour on the left. Report options for all modules. This module contains the Insurance needs analysis calculators: life, disability and critical illness. If you enter 2 or more objectives for your investor(s) in step 1, they will be listed alphabetically in the left menu and steps 2, 3 and 4 will be specific to each objective. June 2018 Page 10 of 13
11 Navigation cont d Saving The data is automatically saved each time a page is loaded. You can also click the Save icon, on the top right of each page, to force a save immediately. Handy when entering lots of assets! Page tabs and sub-menus This is the tab currently open; it is in a contrasting colour. Once a module is loaded, the page displaying on the right may have tabs across the top. A down arrow ( ) next to a tab name indicates sub-menus on that tab, which can be accessed by clicking directly on the down arrow. Page sections A bold arrow or ^ located on the far right of a header / title row indicates this is a section which can be opened or closed by clicking directly on the down or up arrow, respectively. Actions menus Actions menus are located on the far right of a row, usually in a table or data list. They are page and section specific. Clicking an Actions menu displays the available options for that specific item. June 2018 Page 11 of 13
12 Navigation cont d Action and information icons Icons denoting various types of actions and information are available throughout the application. Some icons are specific to a page. Placing your cursor over almost any icon will display its information or name bubble. The Edit and Delete (action) icons. The Asset Details (information) icon. The Print this page, Save, Messages, Help and Options icons appear on the top right of each page. The Help icon (?) displays basic information / instructions for the page or topic. Messages and warnings will pop on the top of the page automatically. A message item beginning with a red, indicates you must take action on the page to modify the situation before you can continue. If you do not modify the situation, you will not be able to exit the page. For warnings, such as a minimum investment in an asset that is not being met, simply click in the check box next to the item description to acknowledge that you have read it, then you can continue in the application. (If you do not click the checkbox, you cannot change pages.) June 2018 Page 12 of 13
13 Additional Information The administrative module named User settings, where you can change and/or view various configurations specific to you, is found under the Settings menu, located on the top right of each page. This is where, if available, you can change your password. To access the User Settings module: Click on the Settings icon, then select More settings.... The User Settings menu will appear on the left of the page. Here you can edit your information, your display and default preferences, your report and asset search templates and your custom assets and portfolios, as well as the investor profile parameters. User Settings menu A general information section about you, the user, and may contain a picture/image as well as introduction text for the report. Your pre-set page selections for the report. Where custom assets are created and listed. Your own pre-defined portfolios of assets. Date and number formats, default values, application themes and various logo options. Your custom pre-defined asset searches. Where Investor Profiles can be modified. In some versions this option is available so you can change your password. June 2018 Page 13 of 13
