Edit the uiprofile.json file in the IBM Intelligent Video Analytics web root..\ibm\svs\httpserer\ htdocs\milsng\conf directory as described in the following steps. Important: If you incorrectly modify the uiprofile.json file, IBM Intelligent Video Analytics does not function correctly. Take particular care oer the following points. Back up the uiprofile.json file before you change the file. Edit in UTF-8 mode, so that foreign-language characters are not altered. In Windows Notepad start by editing normally, then Sae As, and at bottom of the window in the Encoding dropdown list select: UTF-8. In Linux i, during editing, enter :set encoding=utf-8. Use the correct JSON syntax throughout the uiprofile.json file. If the JSON syntax is incorrect, it is not parsed correctly by the browser and the UI does not function as expected. Note: A common mistake is in arrays of objects. Each object must be followed by a comma character (,) except for the last object, which must not hae a trailing comma. 13. Find the playerparameters object and add the following text to the object if this text is not already present. {"id": "Cisco_VSM_7", "url": "ms/ciscovsm7/objectdetailsvmsplayers.html"} 14. Locate the preloadplayers array in the file, and add the following entry. {"id": "Cisco_VSM_7"} Note: As described in the topic Configuring a VMS serer in the product documentation, remoe any preloadplayer entries that are not required for your deployment. Configuring the VMS serer, cameras, and channels In the Intelligent Video Analytics administrator client, configure a VMS serer entry, cameras, and channels for the Cisco VSM 7 integration. The clients that access the Cisco ideo channels and use the ideo player must also be configured. Edit the Cisco VSM serer entry as follows: Serer Id Name Hostname : xx : Cisco_VSM_7 : short_name 14 IBM Intelligent Video Analytics: IBM IVA Integration Plug-in for Cisco VSM 7.6 Installation and enablement guide

Parameters : user=administrator&password=xxxxxx Format : $protocol://$serer?camera=$camid&user=$username&password=$password Protocol : ciscosource Version : 7.6 In the hostname field, enter the short name of the Cisco VSOM 7 serer, for example, ciscosom76. The IP address sometime works instead. In the Parameters field, enter the user ID and password credentials for a user with authority to access the Cisco VSM V7.6 serer. Configure the cameras 4. Go to the Cameras tab and complete the required fields to create a camera definition for eery camera that you are integrating. Complete the following fields as described: Field Instructions VMS Serer For each camera, select the Cisco VSM 7 serer that you configured in step 3. VMS Camera ID Engine Params Set the VMS Camera ID of the camera to the Camera UID of the appropriate camera as defined on the Cisco serer. Note: For analog cameras connected to encoder ports this ID is the analog camera deice ID, not the encoder deice ID. These IDs can be found on the Cisco Video Sureillance Management Console (VSMC). For more information about how to determine the camera ID, see Finding cameras and their characteristics on page 21. Enter the width and height that the camera is configured for, and ensure that each parameter is preceded with an ampersand (&) character. For example, &Width=704&Height=480. Important: If you do not know these alues, contact your Cisco VSM administrator. Note: These alues must match the actual width and height that is configured for the camera. Otherwise, ideo is distorted when streamed by the SSE. If more than one stream is defined for the camera, add a stream parameter with the Stream Id of the stream that you want the SSE to use. For example, &stream=3fefd41f-891b-4d3b-bf47-55d _s2. In most cases, this stream is the second stream as it is the lower resolution stream and conseres CPU resource on the SSE. Make sure that the width and height parameters match the resolution of the selected stream. For more information about the serer definition fields, see Camera definition properties in the IBM Knowledge Center. Configure channels (iews) and associated analytic engines 5. Go to the Channels tab and create channels for each camera to be analyzed. You must also configure the analytic engines that are associated with each channel. For more information, see Creating, updating, and deleting channels in the IBM Knowledge Center. Set up the serers and clients for HTTPS and cross-domain operations 6. The Cisco VSM 7 serer requires HTTPS connections to support ideo playback. Web browsers that are used to connect to the Intelligent Video Analytics administrator or operator clients must make HTTPS requests to the Cisco serer. To allow these requests, an IBM HTTP Serer that support HTTPS must be running on the MILS component. Some additional configuration is also required in the Internet Explorer security settings. Note: In Intelligent Video Analytics V1.6, HTTPS is enabled for MILS by default. 7. Ensure that the following browser configuration steps are applied to eery client that accesses the Intelligent Video Analytics administrator or operator clients: a. Configure the Internet Explorer security settings as outlined in Setting up the Intelligent Video Analytics operator client in the IBM Knowledge Center. Chapter 5. Installing the Cisco VSM 7 VMS extension on MILS 15

Chapter 6. Configuring the IBM Intelligent Video Analytics clients Set up the IBM Intelligent Video Analytics administrator and operator clients to access and play ideo from a Cisco Video Sureillance Manager V7.6 system. Procedure 1. Install the Microsoft Visual C Serice Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update on the Windows clients. 2. Ensure that the IBM Intelligent Video Analytics administrator and operator clients are running a supported browser. 3. Ensure that the clients can access the MILS serer. The clients must be able to resole the host name of the Intelligent Video Analytics MILS serer either through DNS or through an entry in the desktop hosts file. For example, if the MILS serer host name is MILS_host_name and this host name is not in DNS, then ensure that the following entry exists in the c:\windows\system32\driers\etc\hosts file on the client: aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd MILS_host_name where aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd is the IP address of the MILS serer. 4. Complete the mandatory browser configuration steps as described in the topics "Installing the administrator client" and "Preparing to run the IBM Intelligent Video Analytics clients on Microsoft Internet Explorer" in the IBM Knowledge Center. Be sure to add the MILS, SSE, and all Cisco serers (including any irtual IP addresses if you are using them in a HA enabled enironment) to Trusted Sites in the Microsoft Internet Explorer security settings. Important: You must manually complete step 1 of the procedure that is outlined in Preparing to run the IBM Intelligent Video Analytics clients on Microsoft Internet Explorer. A script is included in the Intelligent Video Analytics V1.6.1 Cisco VSM V7.6 integration package folder to help you to complete the remaining client configuration steps in the procedure. To access the script: a. Log on to the MILS serer and go to:../httpserer/htdocs/milsng/ms/ciscovsm7/build/ b. Extract the contents of CiscoVSM7_DSF_Filter_V1_2.zip. c. The troubleshooting tools are not needed for the DSF to operate and function, howeer they are proided to help you to debug your test systems, and are useful for initial testing and to gather information for future configuration. Important: Install the tools that are proided in the Cisco DSF package on a test IBM Intelligent Video Analytics enironment. Do not use these tools on a production system. The test tools that are outlined in the following sections are typically installed on a Windows 7 client. 20 IBM Intelligent Video Analytics: IBM IVA Integration Plug-in for Cisco VSM 7.6 Installation and enablement guide

You can find the utilities in the CiscoVSM7_DSF_Filter_V1_2.zip Cisco DSF package file. Microsoft GraphEdit is also another useful tool for troubleshooting the DSF that you can download and install on the SSE serer. Finding cameras and their characteristics Cisco VSM proides seeral utilities for obtaining information about the cameras in your system and how they are set up, which you need for configuring or troubleshooting problems in IBM Intelligent Video Analytics. For example, when you use the SampleGrabber tool, you will need to assemble the Cisco URL for the camera, as outlined in step 2 of the next troubleshooting topic, 'Testing the DSF by using the SampleGrabber tool'. About this task The following table outlines some of the ways that you can obtain information about your Cisco cameras, which is useful for completing the required setup tasks or troubleshooting problems. Cisco utility Cisco Video Sureillance Operations Manager (VSOM) Cisco Video Sureillance Management Console (VSMC) CiscoCamDiscoery.html utility Use to find... The resolution of camera The UID of an analog camera that is connected to an encoder port The UID of a camera that is connected to a separate media serer Cameras on a Cisco VSOM 7 serer and also secondary streams for IP cameras Obtaining the resolution of the camera Procedure 1. Start a browser session and log on to the Cisco VSOM by using the following URL: 2. Select the Cameras tab at the top. 3. In the lower left of the pane, locate and select the camera in the Cameras section. 4. In the central pane, select the tab Streaming, Recording and Eents. 5. Select the Template for the camera. 6. Click Video Stream A > Custom. 7. In the Resolution pop-up window, read the width and height. For example: 352x240. You can also see other camera parameters in this window, such as media type or maximum frame rate. Retrieing the UIDs of cameras from the Cisco VSMC Procedure 1. Using the following URL, log on to the VSMC of your Cisco media serer as the localadmin user or equialent: Under Troubleshooting, if you do not see Media Serer, ensure that you logged on to the VSMC. If you logged on to the VSOM serer by mistake, you will not see the Media Serer option. 2. In the System Administration tab of the VSMC, select Troubleshooting > Media Serer. To search for the working UID of the camera by stream: a. Under Media Serer, click Streams. All streams are displayed. b. Locate the camera in the list, and read the working UID in the Stream Name column. Chapter 7. Troubleshooting information and tools 21

c. Click the camera name to get the model number, IP address, endor, and other information. To search for the working UID of the camera by deice: a. Under Media Serer, click Deices. b. In the Deices List tab, in the Search by drop-down list, select Analog Cameras. All analog cameras are displayed. c. Locate the camera in the list, and read the working UID in the Deice UIDcolumn. Finding cameras by using the CiscoCamDiscoery.html tool Use the CiscoCamDiscoery.html tool to find the cameras in your Cisco enironment and to also read the UID of a camera. This information is important if you plan to use multi-streaming on cameras. Multi-streaming can proide lower resolution ideo to an SSE to allow the SSE to support more cameras. Procedure 1. Start an Internet Explorer browser session and open the CiscoCamDiscoery.html page, which is included in the Cisco VSM DSF package for Intelligent Video Analytics. The page can be hosted on your local client or on any web serer. Important: You must use a Microsoft Internet Explorer browser to display the CiscoCamDiscoery.html web page. 2. Enter the host name of the Cisco VSOM 7 serer, followed by alid user credentials, and then click Load. The streams that are configured for each camera are displayed in the text area of the utility. Important: Depending on how the network connectiity is configured, you might need to specify the host name as either the IP address, the short name, or the fully qualified host name. Note: If you do not get a response after seeral seconds, check that the certificates are installed correctly. The CiscoCamDiscoery.html page makes HTTPS calls to the Cisco VSOM 7 serer, so that the proper certificates must be installed. The best way to install the certificates is to connect to the Cisco VSOM console with Internet Explorer and complete the steps when prompted. When you can log on to the VSOM console with no certificate warnings, the certificates are successfully installed. 3. Make a note of the UID of each camera. Stream names are typically the camera UID followed by _s1 or _s2. 4. Check whether any cameras hae more than one stream defined. If you see any camera with a _s2 stream defined, take particular note of the camera UID. 5. If possible, copy the camera UID and stream ID from the utility into your Intelligent Video Analytics camera definitions. Testing the DSF by using the SampleGrabber tool The SampleGrabber utility initiates ideo streams from the camera that uses the DirectShow Filter (DSF). The utility uses the same DirectShow interface as the SSE serer, and so tests that the DSF and the URL that you are using work with the SSE. About this task SampleGrabber closely simulates the operation of the SSE by actiating logging operations and streaming ideo by using the same URL as Intelligent Video Analytics. Run the SampleGrabber utility from the SSE serer where the DSF is typically installed. Procedure To alidate the DSF installation and networking setup: 1. Run the SampleGrabber utility from the SSE serer. 22 IBM Intelligent Video Analytics: IBM IVA Integration Plug-in for Cisco VSM 7.6 Installation and enablement guide

2. In the Cisco source URL field, specify the URL that you would like to test. The format of this URL is typically as follows: ciscosource://ip_address?camera=camera_id&user=admin_user_id&password=admin_user_password&width=width&height=height For example: ciscosource:// ?camera= abc...9f&user=admin&password=password&width=320&height= Modify the width and height parameters to match the camera stream configuration. 4. Click OK. The VideoStatus and log output windows open. Note: The log output window shows what the filter is doing. The VideoStatus window shows four rounded rectangles that turn green as the filter graph is built. When the graph is complete, an ActieMoie window displays the ideo stream. When the ideo starts playing, click Capture on the Images tab in the VideoStatus window. Each time that you click Capture, an image is retrieed by the Sample Grabber tool. The images are in the correct color and orientation and match the images that the SSE serer retriees from the DSF. Troubleshooting issues with GraphEdit GraphEdit is a Microsoft product for debugging DirectShow graphs and must be installed on the same serer as the DirectShow Filter (DSF). To run GraphEdit, download the tool from the Microsoft Windows Software Deelopment Kit (SDK) on to the SSE serer. Procedure 1. Run the GraphEdit utility from the following directory on the SSE serer...\ibm\sse\ciscovsm7dsf\utilities\graphedt.exe GraphEdit must be run from the Utilities directory, otherwise it might not work. 2. Select Render URL from the File menu. 3. Enter the URL of the SSE serer that you are troubleshooting. What to do next For more information about GraphEdit, see the following page on the Microsoft website: Note: If the page does not display, search microsoft.com using the following string: Using GraphEdit (Windows) Troubleshooting issues with camera connection When IBM Intelligent Video Analytics attempts to connect to a Cisco camera through the Configure Analytics window, you may encounter a problem that causes the browser application to stop responding. To generate the flow of incoming ideo, IBM Intelligent Video Analytics sends a ideo stream request in the format of a URL to the ideo management system (VMS) from the Smart Sureillance Engine (SSE) component. When you create an analytic engine for connecting to the Cisco VMS, the ideo stream request URL is generated from alues in the serer and camera definitions. A problem can be caused by incorrect alues of the parameters that are proided in the URL. A URL that contains incorrect alues for Height, Width, or Camera ID parameters causes the engine editor to try repeatedly to connect to the camera. This can cause the browser to stop responding. The height and Chapter 7. Troubleshooting information and tools 23

width alues requested by the SSE need to match the height and width set for the camera on the Cisco VMS. Proiding an incorrect protocol or IP alue causes the engine editor to fail to connect to the camera and results in a pop-up window to appear indicating an issue with the URL. Ensure that you configure correctly the serer and camera definitions from the Serers and Cameras tabs, on the administrator client, as outlined in the topic, video stream request URL, in the IBM Knowledge Center for Intelligent Video Analytics. 24 IBM Intelligent Video Analytics: IBM IVA Integration Plug-in for Cisco VSM 7.6 Installation and enablement guide
