2 Page 2 of 9 at NIC are generated from data extracts out of Colleague and are updated on a nightly basis, with the exception of the Census DataMart. Datamarts include: Admissions, Census, Common, Curriculum, Financial Aid, Financials, Human Resources, and Students Access 1. In order to access DataMart reports login to your MyNIC account. 2. Once logged in, choose Applications then DataMart Report Server.

3 Page 3 of 9 3. Once logged in you should be able to see the Home page along with the reports you can access. 0 Reports 1. Click on any folder to view the available reports. 2. Under the folder you choose, click once on the report you want to view. Note: you may need to enter information before a report will run (ex: student or employee ID) then click view report (top right).

4 Page 4 of 9 3. If you have questions concerning the information on a report, scroll to the bottom of the report. The author (department) will be listed and they can be contacted to answer questions concerning the report. Printing 1. Once a report has been opened, you can print it by clicking on the print icon in the toolbar. 2. Choose the printer you want to use and click ok. Saving 1. To save a report, click on the save icon in the toolbar.

5 Page 5 of 9 2. You will need to choose the format in order to be prompted to save the file. 3. Once a format is chosen, choose the down arrow beside Save, and choose Save as. 4. Choose a location, name the file, and click Save.

6 Page 6 of 9 Troubleshooting 1. Authorization How does user obtain access to DataMart? Contact the IT Help Desk at (208) and request DataMart access. A ticket will be opened and forwarded to the appropriate department for authorization. Once access has been granted, the user will be contacted. 2. Access How can I access? Users must access DataMart thought the MyNIC Portal with their own AD credentials. Login to your MyNIC account at the following link: 3. Off Campus Is DataMart available off campus? DataMart is not available off campus. These reports are secured behind a firewall and access in only allowed on campus. 4. Reports What if data on a DataMart report does not reflect data in Colleague? DataMart is refreshed nightly and will not reflect real-time data. Refer to the snapshot date and time stamp on any DataMart report (located in a column in the report) to provide when the data was last updated. 5. Printing What if I get the warning Unable to load client print control? First time users will get a message that this site might require the following ActiveX control: Microsoft SQL Server from Microsoft Corporation. Click here to install Click the button to install ActiveX and follow the installation prompts. The user only needs to install ActiveX only once on their machine. What if the printed report layout is incomplete and only prints the first page? User selected wrong printer icon and will need to select the printer icon on the tool bar inside DataMart and not from the browser tool bar or the File, Print menu.

7 Page 7 of 9 6. Browser/Plugins What is the recommended browser? The recommended browser to use for DataMart reports is Internet Explorer. What if in Internet Explorer a report just spins when trying to open? The user will need to add the DataMart site to the compatibility list. While in DataMart, within Internet Explorer, go to: Tools > Compatibility View Settings Click add when the Compatibility View Settings window opens. Click close then try to open your report again.

8 Page 8 of 9 In Internet Explorer, if you are trying to open a report that requires PDF, you may need to enable the PDF add-on. To do this: Go to: Tools > Manage add-ons When the add-on window opens, click once on Adobe PDF, then click enable.

9 Page 9 of 9 Click the enable button when the Enable add-on window opens. Close the next window and retry the download.
