4 3 Introduction QRM is a Quality Result Management system. It can improve yield, quality and better decision making. Figure 1. Overview of QRM 3.1 Supported Web Browsers All browsers are supported: Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Safari. The web application also runs on iphone and ipad using Safari. 3.2 Readers Guide This document describe the QRM Web application interface. It also give in depth knowledge of the possible selections to view test results in QRM and how to export test results from QRM. 4
5 4 QRM Application 4.1 Log In The first thing to do is to log into QRM. All new users will have password abc123 and will be prompted to change this at first login. The length of the password is minimum 6 characters. Logged out after 20 minutes inactivity by default Forgot password? Lockout after five incorrect attempts. An administrator can unlock users. At first login, use username administrator with password abc123 to start manage other users. Figure 2. QRM Log In window 4.2 User Roles Five user roles is available in QRM. Description See all tabs, manage users and deletes test results See all tabs See tabs Overview, Test Results, SPC, Repairs and About See tabs Overview, Test Results and About Only overview available which circles between diagrams. 4.3 Manage Users Users are administrated by an administrator of QRM and users are manage from the web application. There is no need of an external IIS administrator of the QRM Web 5
6 Application to manage users. When an administrator is logged in, the Manage User link button is available in the upper right corner as shown in Figure 3. Figure 3. Manage Users link button location. In the manage users page as shown in Figure 4, an administrator can register new users, unlock and delete users and reset password. A user will be locked if wrong password been entered five times. If an administrator resets password, it will always be set to abc123 and user will be prompt to change at next login. If the default administrator account administrator is locked out, a complete reboot of the IIS Web Application is required and the administrators password will be reseted to abc123. Figure 4. Manage users page. To add a new user press Register New User and fill in username and role as shown in Figure 5. Figure 5. Register New User. 6
7 4.4 Overview Tab After logged into QRM the results is shown in the overview tab, other tabs could be selected for further result analysis. QRM can be setup to either show an overview for each station or for a location by selecting the filter types UUT Type and Station. If nothing is selected all products at all stations will be shown see [Figure 6]. Note: Number of tested and yield is not exact. Retested units will be calculated multiple times if not in same time frame. More exact analysis could be done in the [4.9 Production Report Tab] where retested units can be omitted by filter settings. Figure 6. QRM Overview by location 7
8 Figure 7. Overview by product 4.5 Chart Zooming Any QRM chart can be zoomed by clicking on the chart. Click again to zoom back to normal. Figure 8. Zoom and unzoom chart 8
9 4.6 Tabs The QRM application have a number of tabs for different analyzes of the test results. Figure 9. QRM Tabs QRM Tabs Description Overview presents a brief overview of the production. Test Results presents test results and opportunity to create PDF report and export test data to Excel/Minitab. Production Report generate production statistics (yield, number of tested, most common faults, repairs, cpk warnings) specified by different intervals. Yield trace the cause of yield problems, breaking down the yield to the measurement that caused the problem. SPC Statistical Process Control. Perform in-depth analysis of single measurements with traditional SPC analysis to verify that you measurement process is stable and in control. See histograms for normal distribution and calculate key values like Cp and Cpk. 9
10 MSA Measurement System Analysis. Automatically perform a Gage R&R analysis to verify the quality of your measurements. Stations Analyze the utilization and usage of the test stations and the average testing time per UUT type. Repairs Add repairs to existing UUTs or search previously made repairs. Export Export multiple results to Excel for further analysis. About Version information and also some additional administration options. 4.7 Filter Settings One of the most important features of the QRM web application is the filter. These settings will be preserved during the entire user session and are applied to all database queries to filter out the test result by only fetch needed data. All filter settings are not applicable for all tabs and these fields will not be shown when not applicable. UUT Type, UUT Variant, Start Date Time and Stop Date Time are the most important settings, since they limit the amount of data that will be fetch from the database. Execute executes query (defined by the filter settings) and fetches data from the database. Figure 10. Important filter settings The filters could also be setup to use UUT Serial Number and UUT Batch. Both these are a contains search, meaning that only a part of the UUT serial number needs to be entered in the field. UUT Serial Number field also support AIAG B-4 identification standard codes. Like (S)<SerialNumber>(1P)<UUTType> to support use of a bar code scanner to easy look 10
11 up UUTs in the database. UUT Settings are additional information that might be added by the test system. E.g. firmware version, sales number and variant information. Variant information could also be specified directly and will then appear in the variant drop down list, but if there are hundreds of variants, it is better to use UUT settings to specify this. Figure 11. Filter UUT Serial Number and UUT Setting Auto Populating Filters Many of the dropdown lists in QRM are auto populated depending on the filter settings. An example of this is the highlighted dropdown lists in the picture below. Figure 12. Example of auto populated dropdown lists Other filter settings that could be selected is: Outcome may filter out only passed or failed units. Test Socket selects which test socket to filter the results. Typical used with PCBA testing when there are multiple UUTs (in a panel) tested at the same 11
12 time with different UUT positions (sockets). QRM can be configured to use 0 or 1 as the first test socket position. Operator select operator. Test Program selects test program that has generated the results. Typically a test program maps to a specific application that has been used. Test Method selects which test method that has been used to gather the result. Typically a test method maps to the software used. Using LabVIEW, this could be the name of the VI or class. Figure 13. More filter settings Cascading of Auto Populating Filters Changing one auto populating dropdown lists will affect other auto populating dropdown lists to change, see Figure
13 Figure 14. QRM filter cascading 4.8 Test Result Tab Test Results can be view in two ways: 1. By Result Set UUT reports are grouped into sequence executions and presented by execution date and result set name. Use this mode to get an overview of the day by day results with the reports that has been generated together. The latest report is presented first. Compare with the regular TestStand report, see [Figure 15]. 13
14 Number of sequence executions Number of UUTs Figure 15. Test result by result set 2. By UUT Serial Number UUT test reports are grouped by serial number and all test reports for one specific UUT is presented together, see [Figure 16]. 14
15 UUT Type Number of UUTs Chunks of100 serial numbers Number of reports per UUT Figure 16. Test result by UUT serial number The Result Set Name is visibel in both By Result set and By UUT Serial Number. Typically it identifies a set of test report that are generated at the same time sharing a common name. The name could typically consist of sequence name + station name + counter. This counter could be an increasing number for each time the sequence is executed, a workorder number or a datetime stamp, see [Figure 17]. 15
16 Result Set name UUT Type and Variant Test time Test Socket Figure 17. Result Set Name Details The test result details can be expanded to present the detailed measurement, see [Figure 18]. The measurements are grouped into result groups, typical mapping to a test case. 16
17 Result Group Requierments Figure 18. Test result details Attachments Attachment files will be shown as a clickable link in the result list, see [Figure 19]. Pictures and text files will be opened directly in a new tab in the browser. Other file extensions will be prompt to be downloaded. 17
18 Figure 19. Test result attachment Extended Information Extended configuration information can be shown if the Configuration Info checkbox is checked before the results are fetched, see [Figure 20]. Configuration information like test type, test sequence, test program, test description (configuration version), station, location and equipment are shown as well. If there is any version information associated with these settings it will be shown. 18

Test result PDF report CSV Text File CSV data text file can easily be generated by checking the checkboxes for the wanted UUT and press Download CSV. Header format might be selected by the CSV headers selector. CSV files can be directly imported in Excel, Minitab or any custom application. QRM will automatically select the proper decimal character. or, depending on the prefered language settings in your browser settings. 20
21 Figure 23. Test result to CSV text file 4.9 Production Report Tab Production reports can be generated and giving detailed information about number of tested, number of passed, first pass yield and last pass yield. This information is much more accurate then the overview tab. Production reports can be configured to consider both location or station and UUT variant, see [Figure 24]. 21
22 Figure 24. Production Report Additional selections can be added to generate more graphs. Figure 25. Production report additional selections 22
Generate PDF or CSV File PDF reports and CSV datafiles can easily be generated by pressing the download buttons. Figure 26. Production report generate PDF or CSV file 4.10 Yield Analysis Tab Yield analysis is used to identify which results are causing the yield to decrease. To the left, there are two charts showing yield by result group, see [Figure 27]. The result group with lowest yield is shown leftmost. In addition, the number of tested units are also shown, since it affect the calculation of the yield. To the right, see [Figure 27] the yield by time is shown for one of the selected result groups. It is possible to specify a minimum lower threshold of tested units to include when calculating yield. 23
24 Figure 27. Yield analysis Yields can be divided down to individual measurements that is presented with the lowest yield at the top. A result can then easily be presented in the time window to the right. Figure 28. Yield analys of individual measurments 24
SPC Tab SPC Statical Process Control is a method to analyze measurement data over time to make sure that the measurement process is stable and in control. The background therory of SPC will be covered in a separate education module. In this tab, all common SPC charts is presented. Without any knowledge about SPC, the top charts might be of interest as they show the measurement values over time and also a histogram with buckets showing the distribution of the measurement values. Normally, bad data i.e. outliers, are usually removed (typical non-function or dead units) in order to perform analysis. QRM has a automated feature for this. Press the Remove Outliers button to remove them automatically. It is also possible to manully set the truncate boundarys. Figure 29. SPC - Statistical Process Control In [Figure 30] the outliers has been removed and the remaining measurement values are nicely normal distributed. To the right, we also see the upper specification limit (USL) and the lower specification limit (LSL) plotted directly in the histogram. The ideal normal distribution line is also plotted in the histogram. If there is UUTs that are tested over and over again, causing statistics to be a bit colored by certain unique UUTs, these can be remove by checking the No Duplicate UUTs checkbox. Only 25
26 the last measurement value from each unique UUT will then be used. Downloading measurement data can easily be performed to Excel, Minitab or any application that can use CSV files. All plots and calculation can also be exported to a PDF report. Figure 30. SPC - Statistical Process Control with outliers removed Stations Tab The usage and utilization of the test stations can be analyze with QRM. Notice that this analysis is based on the time stamps of the UUT result sets that are posted to QRM and setup time of stations will not be included. It is also important that the naming of the result sets are correct in order for this statistics to be correct. Station Usage top two charts in [Figure 31] shows the utilization level to the left (presented in local time) and tested UUT types by station to the right. Station is considered in use from the first UUT start date time to the last UUTs end date time for result sets with the same name. Utilization is calculated as the station usage divided with the utilization work hour base for each day. Diagrams are dbsed on test time, not number of units tested. Number of units the two middle charts to the left in [Figure 31] shows the total number of tested units (including retested units) and the average number of UUTs 26
27 tested in each started sequence execution. Number of units tested is calculated as the total number of units (result sets) executed. Retesting of UUTs is included. Average number of UUTs/Execution is calculated as the average of the number of tested units for each sequence execution. Sequence executions that differs too much from the others are excluded. Testing time the two middle charts to the right in [Figure 31] shows average testing time per UUT and also the average sequence testing time. Average test time/uut is calculated as the sum of the test time for all sequence executions (first UUTs start date time to the last UUTs stop date time in each sequence execution) divided by the total number of UUTs tested. Sequence execution times that differs too much from the others will be excluded. Average sequence executing time is calculated as the mean of the total time (first UUTs start date time to the last UUT end date time) for each sequence execution. Sequence executions that differs too much from the others are excluded. Start of testing the two bottom charts in [Figure 31] shows which time of the day (local time) sequence executions are started to the left, and which day of week sequences are started. Figure 31. Stations overview 27
Stations Utilization A station or location can be selected to get more detailed information, see [Figure 32]. Figure 32. Station utilization 4.13 Repairs Tab Repairs has two main working modes browse repairs or enter a new repair. If No UUT serial number is empty all repairs performed for this UUT type is shown with the lastest repair first. A repair entry consists of: Action typically an action code defined by the company. Repair Type Predefined classification of repair (repair, replace, reseat, alignment, software upgrade or user defined). This is part of the ATML standard. Description a text description of the action performed. Designator the actually compontents or parts that caused the repair. 28
Browse Repairs Figure 33. Browse repairs New Repair If a serial number is entered, see [Figure 34] the UUT is shown below with all of its associated repairs (if any). The most recent result set is shown as a clickable link. A new repair is easily entered in the editing field. 29
30 Figure 34. New repair Test Results Repairs are also shown in the test results tab (if any). It is also possible to search for repaired UUTs only. Repair information will also be included in the PDF report. Figure 35. Repairs shown in test result tab 30
Export Tab Exporting measurement values from QRM is easy. Select the result name and press Download CSV. Figure 36. Export test data 31
