The general operating procedures of the software modules (programs) are explained through examples. The programs of the BMS status bar and the "Extras" functional group with its functions and possibilities are described in detail. 7 BMS Basics Introduction to the Building utomation and Control Page Introduction to the Building utomation and Control Introduction The Building utomation and Control (BC) is the measurement, control, regulation and process control technology for all automatable building constructions, technical plant and equipment. In addition to the automation, operation and management equipment with software and services, the BC includes (BC functions) the necessary products (equipment and cables) of the units as well as the appendant networks for the transfer of information transfer. The room automation also belongs to the BC. The Information Unit assembly section with danger alarm (fire and intrusion), access control and centralized chronology system as well as the video monitoring and person location system do not belong to the BC, but can be integrated in the BC using a special interface. The Kieback&Peter Building utomation and Control (BC) consists of the products and the BC functions, which assume the control tasks with logic functions, regulation and monitoring, as well as optimization for the efficient, economical and safe operation in the Technical Building Equipment (TBE) assembly section. Products used in the Kieback&Peter BC include the DDC Central Unit as regulation system and control, bus module regulator as control and regulation, room controller as room automation, and the neutrino BMS as a management system. The BC is based exclusively on general network standards, which ensures simple and appropriate integration in existing network structures. 8 Page Introduction to the Building utomation and Control BMS Basics The neutrino BMS assumes the superordinate management tasks in the BC for the optimal plant management of the TBE. The regulation and control functions are realized in the DCC Control Unit. The data transfer in the BC can be carried out via the BCnet, P90 or LON (see section 1.1.2). Through the communication between the neutrino BMS with the DDC systems and the other modules on the process level, the operator is able to check and influence the TBE on the Neutrino BMS. The Neutrino BMS interacts with the DDC Control Units according to the principle of spatially distributed intelligence with front-end-processing. The control functions are carried out by the DDC Control Units. Even if communication between the DDC Control Units and the Neutrino BMS is interrupted, the standalone operating functions in the DDC Control Units ensure uninterrupted operations. The Neutrino BMS takes over within the context of the primary BMS management and optimization programs, among other things, the following tasks: complex plant automation central plant overview, ergonomic visualization, continuous transparency of the TBE remote control of the TBE malfunction statistics for recognizing faulty plant behavior recording trends plant analysis reduction of energy costs through E-Max primary optimization strategies reduction of maintenance costs through preventive and plant maintenance optimal use of in-house personnel results in reduced operational costs prevention of unauthorized interventions, security enhancement transmission of critical alarms to external locations Transmission of information to primary systems collection and interpretation of building specific data

9 BMS Basics Introduction to the Building utomation and Control Page Neutrino BMS The communication between the neutrino BMS and the DDC systems can be performed via BCnet, P90 or LON. Fig. 1.1/2: Network connection via P90, LON and BCnet BCnet BCnet is the world standard for normed data communication protocols for Building utomation and Control (BC) according to DIN EN ISO The standard series includes the system hardware and the normed function of Building utomation and Control. BCnet integrates all operations and systems into a high capacity total systems and thus guarantees increased flexibility and greater efficiency than conventional network systems. BCnet provides new potential for uniform regulating and monitoring in overlapping networks and guarantees access to Internet and Office applications. Thus new systems and products can be integrated into the BCnet network quickly and easily. The international standardization of the data communication protocols provides a solid basis for secure investments. The building automation and control thus becomes more efficient, the installation outlay easy, fast and cheaper because existing network structures can be used. LON With the LONWORKS technology, overlapping communication between different operations and systems in a single building can be realized. LONWORKS has established itself in the field of room automation because the synergy effects and benefits arising from its use are especially large as a result of the overlapping and intelligent co-operation of the various systems and operations. Thus for example, in a non-occupied room, the heating, ventilation and lighting can be shut down automatically and the blinds simultaneously let down, in order to use the sun-light for the heating of the room when needed. The use of heating energy and electricity is thus reduced considerably.

10 Page Introduction to the Building utomation and Control BMS Basics P90 P90 is the standard protocol from Kieback&Peter, which is used for communication with the DDC Control Unit. BCnet data structure The native BCnet data structure was adopted for the neutrino BMS so that the standard BCnet objects could be copied one to one. The projection output of the BCnet devices are minimized through the direct transfer of BCnet into the structures of the BC. ll BCnet devices from other manufactures can also be integrated without any problem. The neutrino BMS was conceived for overlapping network topologies and through consistent integration, further communications standards from BCnet can communicate universally with other systems. s a result of progressive interface transfer, the neutrino BMS can be operated via a network which exchanges the data and furthermore, exchanges information with every other computer. The data exchange with tabular calculations programs on Windows computers is realized on the Neutrino BMS and can be extended at any time, in order to integrate additional data base applications. Communication is carried out via the same network structures and transfer routes without the communication to the BCnet devices being restricted. Design The Neutrino BMS has a modular design. The modular design of the software and hardware allows the expansions of the Neutrino BMS depending on construction progress and the availability of investment capital. This consequent modularity ensures the expansion of the Neutrino BMS at any time. Optional software modules allow you to configure the Neutrino BMS according to your special needs (see section ). 11 BMS Basics Introduction to the Building utomation and Control Page The Neutrino BMS's highly efficient operating system QNX 6.3 can in the shortest time display on the screen plant graphics, trend curves, quick querys as well as operating and malfunction messages. The TBE is managed mainly from out of the plant graphics that require no programming knowledge. Operating is menu-assisted and mostly carried out with the mouse on the graphical user interface (GUI). This easy operation allows the operator to quickly access all TBE information and functions Control System QNX 6.3 QNX 6.3 is the operating system for all Kieback&Peter's BMSs. It is a real-time capable, network oriented multitask/multi-user system with embedded BMS network software and GUI. Real-time Operating System The Photon Windows is a 32-bit real-time operating system with Posix-standard orientation. POSIX - Portables Operations System - interface for UNIX is developed in accordance with the IEEE (1992) standardized application level interface and provides an interface between application and operating system. The multi task/multi-user operation, the embedded BMS network software, and the highly efficient Photon GUI are the Neutrino BMS's efficient characteristics. Multi-user Operating Several operators can work simultaneously at several BMS operator terminals and/or Neutrino BMSs without hindering each other. Multi-Task Operating The Neutrino BMS processes several tasks at the same time. The multi-task operation enables the simultaneous processing of several software module tasks and software functions. The Neutrino BMS permanently monitors the connected DDC Control Units. t the same time, the user can change at the Neutrino BMS the parameters, e.g. set points, which are sent to the DDC Control Units. If during this, the Neutrino BMS receives a malfunction message, the message is immediately printed out on a selected BMS printer. Input, e.g., of set points for a BMS data point by an operator is not interrupted. The operator can without being disturbed operate the Neutrino BMS. Meanwhile, further software modules, e.g., the E-MX or MINTENNCE PROGRM continue working in the background. Integrated (or embedded) BMS Network Software The BMS network software embedded in the operating system QNX 6.3 enables several Neutrino BMSs and/or BMS terminals to be connected together. network work can be established via Ethernet - the de-facto standard in industrial networking TCP/IP (Transmission Control protocol/internet Protocol) The worldwide-standardized communication protocol TCP/IP for networks is imbedded directly in QNX 6.3. Consequently, the BMS can communicate directly with other computer systems and exchange BMS data.

12 Page Introduction to the Building utomation and Control BMS Basics Photon GUI (Graphical User Interface) The graphical user interface of QNX 6.3 is called Photon. Mouse use is Neutrino BMS standard. The real-time capable 32-bit operating system QNX 6.3 also performs without any problem compute intensive functions such as image in image display of trend curve sequences or video injections Overview of Software Modules Table 1.1/1 lists the software modules integral to the Neutrino BMS s basic software. This software module is installed on a Windows computer. Note: From this point on, throughout the entire description of this chapter, the software modules are termed program for a better understanding.

18 Page Introduction to the Building utomation and Control BMS Basics Explanation to BMS Data Points DDC parameters from the TBE are called BMS data points, which have been projected in the plant graphics as visual fade-in points. The projection of the BMS data points is carried out in the PRMETERIZING and STRUCTURED PRMETERIZING programs. In projection, a technical address and the BMS plain text are allocated to every BMS data point so that every BMS data point is clearly identifiable. The technical address contains the actual address and the type of BMS data point. The projected name of the BMS data point is displayed through the BMS plain text. The following BMS data points can be projected: actual value set value switch functions time switch programs Operating, malfunction or system error messages as well as an Online Trend Window for the trend curve recording can be appended to each BMS data point during projection. Even these messages and Online Trend Window are displayed through a BMS plain text with name and additional information.

19 BMS Basics Notes for the Operator Page Notes for the Operator You do not need to remember any complicated key button combinations for the operation of the programs on the Neutrino BMS. The operation of the operator level is carried out with only a few key button or mouse functions. You can carry out the functions in the programs quickly and easily using the control elements. The program's graphical user interface is designed in window technique. ll windows have basically the same appearance; the same control elements are always arranged in the same position in the windows Structure of a Program Window The windows of the individual programs in general comprise the title bar, the menu bar, and the tool bar, as well as the display area. The design is described in the window for the QUICK QUERY program. ctive windows are displayed with a green title bar. Non-active windows, which are in the background, have a gray title bar. 20 Page Notes for the Operator BMS Basics Operating the Mouse The mouse has gained acceptance in using programs with a graphical user interface. The strengths of mouse operation are proven especially during the graphical user interface (GUI), as every position on the screen can be reached quickly. nother advantage of using the mouse is that the movements of the mouse carried out by hand can be followed on the screen. The left mouse button mainly is used to control the Neutrino BMS. Pressing the left mouse button invokes programs and individual functions, e.g., Save. Popup windows, which are invoked with the right mouse button, are provided for the projected fade-in points in the plant graphics, for messages of the QUICK QUERY, for OPERTING ND MLFUNCTION MESSGES, as well as for the TREND CURVE representation. Using the scroll wheel allows you to move in the program's windows back and forth between the list elements or entries. The mouse can be moved on the mouse pad in any direction. The mouse movements are transferred to a ball on the bottom of the mouse. The mouse is connected to the Neutrino BMS by cable. lways use the mouse on a mouse pad. Regular care and maintenance of the mouse and mouse pad extends the mouse's service life and prevents malfunction. The mouse pointer is active. (Inverse representation) The mouse pointer is not active. Pressing the left mouse button has no effect or the mouse pointer is outside the currently active window. The mouse pointer is not active. triggered function is currently in progress. Corner to drag You can maximize or minimize the window by clicking on the lowest most corner with the mouse pointer, and thus correspondingly display your requirements.

Menu item Function field Note: Throughout the BMS Manual, this is generally called clicking Operating the Keyboard In addition to the mouse, the keyboard can be used to control the Neutrino BMS. The keyboard provides following options: With Image Keys Image Image In an opened window with index cards, you can move from one index card to another one by simultaneously pressing the Ctrl key and the Image keys. With the rrow Keys, the TB and Shift Key rrow Keys TB key Shift key These rrow keys and the Tab key allow you to move back and forth between the buttons or function fields in horizontal or vertical direction in the opened window. If you want move in the opposite direction, press the Shift key and the Tab Key at the same time. These rrow keys allow you to move up and down in the plant tree of the OPERTING LEVEL. These rrow keys allow you to open and close the plant tree and the sub files in the OPERTING LEVEL. Note: Kieback&Peter recommends using the mouse on the OPERTING LEVEL.

With the Ctrl, C and V keys Ctrl + C Ctrl + V If you wish to copy the text in the clipboard, press the Ctrl key and C key simultaneously. If you wish to paste text from the clipboard, press the Ctrl key and V key simultaneously. With keys for the direct jump (Hot Key) Button For a direct jump in an opened window, press the lt key and the appropriate letter key for the underlined letter on the button simultaneously, e.g., <Y>, or on the menu item, e.g., <V>. Menu item With the lt key and function keys F1 - F10 lt + F1 To invoke the context sensitive Help, press the lt key and F1 function key simultaneously. lt + F4 You can end a program which you have accessed by pressing the lt key and the F4 function key. Where a supplementary window is opened in the program, this key button combination serves only to close the window. lt + F7 If you wish to alter the position of an open window on the screen, you need to press first the lt key together with the F7 function key. You can alter the position of the window using the arrow key. Press the ENTER key, to confirm the new position. If you press the Esc key the new position will not be accepted. lt + F8 Is you wish to minimize or maximize an open window, you must first press the lt key together with the F8 function key. You can alter the position of the window using the arrow key. Press the ENTER key, to confirm the maximization or minimization. When pressing the Esc key, the new position will not be accepted.

23 BMS Basics Notes for the Operator Page lt + F10 You can display an open window in the full screen view and exploit the entire area of the screen by pressing the lt key and the F 10 function key simultaneously. If you want to close the full screen view, press the lt key together with the F10 function key. lt + If you wish to switch between the programs, press the lt key and TB key ( ) simultaneously. It opens a display window in which the open programs are displayed. Select the corresponding program by pressing and holding the lt key and pressing the TB key. Release the lt key to display the selected program. lt + Ctrl + F2 If you want to logon as an operator, press the lt key and F2 function key simultaneously. The Logon window is then opened in which you need to enter your operator name as well as the corresponding code word (see section ). lt + Ctrl + F3 If you wish to select a program in the drop down window with the functional group press the lt key, Ctrl key and F3 function key simultaneously. The drop down window with the functional group will be opened. Select the desired program in the corresponding functional group, as described in section

The following control elements are provided in the windows: Scroll bars Scroll bar arrows Buttons Symbols Function field Menu items Drop down windows Popup windows Selection fields Option fields Entry fields Index cards Scroll Bars and rrows of the Scroll Bars If the display area is larger than the window, the display area can be moved with the scroll bars or with its arrows in the window. Click on the scroll bar and hold the mouse button. Drag the scroll bar to the desired position in the display area. Shift the display area using the scroll bar arrows. Click and hold the arrow (up or down) until reaching the desired position. The size of the scroll bar shows the visible part of the display area. Small scroll bars have a larger display area. The maximum size of the scroll bar means that the display area fits exactly into the window.

25 BMS Basics Notes for the Operator Page Buttons, Symbols and Fade-in Points You can carry out either direct or indirect functions using the buttons, symbols and fade-in points. Direct functions are executed straight away where as indirect functions must be carried out in a further window. Carrying Out Functions Directly Clicking on fade-in points on the tool bar of the OPERTING LEVEL execute the function directly without exiting the active window. These fade-in points with a dark background mean that the function is active. Fade-in point with light gray background: The function is not active, e.g., no actual values are faded in a plant graphic of the OPERTING LEVEL. Fade-in point is active (dark gray background): The function is active, e.g., the actual values are faded in a plant graphic of the OPERTING LEVEL. Some symbols in the tool bar are displayed with a dark background when the function is active; the same as described for the fade-in points. Carrying Functions Indirectly Clicking a button, a symbol, or a fade-in point normally causes a direct jump into another window: Function field With the e.g. Week program fade-in point a window of a time program in which you can carry out alterations. Button Using the e.g. [Send] button a window is opened in which you can e.g. send the alterations of a time program to the DDC system. Symbol This symbol opens the window for the printer selection in which you can select a printer.

26 Page Notes for the Operator BMS Basics Drop Down Windows There are three types of drop down windows available: Drop down windows contain functions that are allocated to each menu item in the menu bar. Click on a menu item to open the related drop down window. Select a function by clicking on the drop down window The function selected is displayed either indented with changed color or with symbol. The functions are highlighted blue while moving the mouse pointer over them. Non-active functions are displayed light gray. The drop down window with the functional group contains the installed program. Click on the symbol in the BMS status bar to open the drop down window containing the functional groups. Clicking on the individual functional groups displays the related programs that are installed on your Neutrino BMS. The name of the active program, e.g., OPERTING LEVEL is displayed light gray in the drop down window. The associated functions are listed in the drop down window of a selection field, which can be selected by clicking onto to them.

27 BMS Basics Notes for the Operator Page Popup Windows Popup windows contains corresponding context menus to the selected fade-in points or BMS data points. Click with the right mouse button over a fade-in point in the plant image or a BMS data point in the QUICK QUERY, OPERTING ND MLFUNCTION MESSGES, or TREND CURVE programs to open the related popup window. Select a function by clicking on the context menu of the popup window. Clicking on the function automatically changes to the related program or executes the function. Non-active functions are displayed light gray Selection, Option and Entry Fields The windows, the selection, option, and entry fields are subdivided into group fields. The group fields are in a group frame and have a group name. The Print Message File window describes the structure of these windows. 28 Page Notes for the Operator BMS Basics Selection Fields There are two types of selection fields available: Selection field with drop down window Click on the arrow in a selection field in order to select the corresponding function from the drop down window. The selected function is highlighted green and is displayed in the selection field. In some selection fields, you can change the displayed values using the arrows. Selection field for settings In this selection field you can alter the value displayed with an arrow key. Option Fields Only one selection is possible in the round option fields of one group. multiple selection is possible in angular option fields. Click to make selection. The activated round option field is marked with a dot. The activated angular option field is marked with a cross. Entry Fields Entries in the entry fields must be entered via the keyboard. First click on the entry field and then insert entries (flashing cursor is visible in the field) Index Cards With the index cards, you can select functions that are allocated to that index card. Click on the desired index card to display the associated function in the active index card. The non-activated index card is displayed with dark background.

The selection is marked green and some list entries have a marked option field. The selection is displayed using the Data Point Selection window. Information windows give the operator information on how to carry out actions. Safety Query If you want to send, e.g., a time program to a DDC system, a safety query appears in which you must confirm the sending of the time program. Safety queries are marked with the symbol. You can choose between [OK] or [Yes], [No] or [Cancel] in theses windows. The [Ok] button or the [Yes] button saves your changes. The [Yes] button sends the time program. The [No] or the [Cancel] button will not send the time program and you return to the initial starting position. Fig. 1.2/4: Safety query, e.g., for editing time program Information Window Information windows show you that, e.g., your code word does not have the required access rights to select a specific function. These windows are marked with the symbol or the symbol and must be confirmed with the [OK] button. 31 BMS Basics Notes for the Operator Page Help Functions The help function comprises three areas: the online help, immediate help, and context sensitive help Online Help In the menu bar under the Help menu item select the Contents... function, to open the online help. Fig. 1.2/7: BMS Online Help Window In the title bar, the online help, the title Neutrino BMS - help display will be displayed. With the symbol the window will be displayed in normal view. The symbol closes the window for the online help. The online help contains the relevant information to the various topics. Click on the table of contents in the left area, or on the button in the lower-most area of the online help in order to change between the topics or between the individual chapters.

32 Page Notes for the Operator BMS Basics Immediate Help If you move the mouse pointer over a button, a function field, or a symbol the immediate help displays a yellow popup field showing the function or the name of this control element. Note: You must remain with the mouse pointer at least two seconds over the control element to receive the immediate help. Immediate Help Fig. 1.2/8: Immediate Help Context Sensitive Help t the context sensitive help, the relevant window with information to the current program window is opened. Click on the symbol in the title bar of the current program window, so that the question mark for the context sensitive help is attached to the mouse arrow. With this question mark you must click on the display area of the program window to open the relevant window in the context sensitive help. You can also call up the context sensitive help to the current program window by proceeding to the menu bar and under the Help menu item selecting the Help to ctive Window function.

33 BMS Basics Switching on or Switching off the Neutrino BMS Page Switching on or Switching off the Neutrino BMS You need a Dongle (hardware program protection) to operate the TBE via the Neutrino BMS. The Dongle contains important information on the software modules installed on the Neutrino BMS. The Dongle is pinned to the Neutrino BMS's USB interface. Note: It is not possible without the Dongle to operate the TBE via the Neutrino BMS! Switching on the Neutrino BMS Switch-on the Neutrino BMS using the power switch on the computer. Note: The design of the Neutrino BMS is described in its own hardware manual! fter switching on, the Neutrino BMS boots the operating system and uploads the installed software modules - the so-called start process. In the start process, the operating system, software modules, connected peripheral equipment such as keyboard, printer, Dongle, monitor, mouse, etc, and the connection set-up to the connected DDC systems of the TOC is checked. Checking may take a few minutes depending on the number of connected DCC systems and installed programs. The start process is signalled with the symbol in the start window. Fig. 1.3/1: Start window Note: If the Neutrino BMS fails to start or if the egg timer in the start window freezes, please consult your provider.

Regardless of which program the operator is in, the operator can access information on the Neutrino BMS's operating state and the connected TBE. Depending on the Neutrino BMS's configuration, varying symbols are displayed. The printer and modem monitor symbols on the BMS tool bar signalize an error that has occurred in the Neutrino BMS's start process and in connection set-up to the peripheral equipment or to the DDC systems. In the case of an error, this symbol flashes red.

Click on the symbol on the BMS bar to open the drop down window with the functional groups. Fig. 1.3/7: Drop down window displaying the functional groups Should you wish to display the allocated programs of a functional group, open the functional group by clicking on the corresponding name. n opened functional group is displayed with an - in front of the name. + before the name means that the functional group has not yet been opened. The functional group can be re-closed through repeated clicking and the - returns to a +. Note: The Favorites functional group takes up a special position amongst the functional groups. This functional group can be allocated to programs independently of its functionality. In the OPERTOR SETTINGS program, you can assign the Favorites functional group to programs in order to receive quick access to regularly required programs (see section 1.12). If you have not allocated this functional group to a program, by clicking on the functional group, a -, will be displayed in front of the name without this being opened.

The program opened will be saved as a e.g. button and displayed in the status bar. Note: Depending on the operator's access rights, different functional groups are displayed in this drop down window. Depending on the Neutrino BMS's configuration, different programs can be displayed in the functiona groups. If the neutrino BMS is in query mode, only the Favorites and Operation functional groups will be displayed in the drop down window. The Favorites functional group cannot be opened in this mode and in the Operation functional group only the OPERTING LEVEL program will be displayed. s a result, the current state of the plant of the TBE connected will be displayed. If you wish to intervene in the state of the plant, you will need to log-on with your operator name and code word, as described in section

You can change to the respective program and display this in the foreground by clicking on the corresponding button. The button of this program will be highlighted in the BMS status bar. If you have deposited a program with the symbol in the GMS status bar, you can re-display it by clicking on the associated button in the BMS status bar. Fig. 1.3/9: BMS status bar with open or deposited programs Displaying System Information If you want to access information on the Neutrino BMS, click on the symbol in the status bar. The System monitor window opens and displays the processor performance, the memory utilization, the network operation as well as the hard disk activity. In addition, the number of the BMS data points (parameter) will be displayed, from which the current values e.g. the actual value and the trend curve value on the neutrino BMS will be displayed corresponding ODBC tables. s a result, Windows computers can access the ODBC tables via the optional ODBC INTERFCE program in order to take these up and operate them using table calculations programs. This window will be closed again with the symbol in the title bar. Fig. 1.3/10: System Monitor window

The Logon window opens containing the current operator's name. symbol in the BMS status Fig. 1.3/11: Logon window Click on the [Lock] button in this window in order to lock the Neutrino BMS. The symbol is displayed in the BMS status bar if the Query operator has been set-up in the security guidelines of the OPERTOR CCOUNTS program of the Setup functional group. The Neutrino BMS is in the query mode. In this mode you can call up the OPERTING LEVEL program, but you cannot carry out settings. If the Query operator was not set-up, the symbol will be displayed in the BMS status bar instead of the symbol, and the Logon window stays open. The Neutrino BMS is not in the query mode and as a result you cannot call up the OPERTING LEVEL program. utomatic Locking If the code word locking for the operator was activated in the Setup functional group in the security guidelines of the OPERTOR CCOUNT program, the neutrino BMS will be locked automatically after a pre-set waiting time. The or symbol will be displayed in the BMS status bar. So that after manual or automatic locking you can intervene in the TBE via the Neutrino BMS or insert entries or changes, you must log-on as an operator with your operator name and a code word (see section ).

42 Page Switching on or Switching off the Neutrino BMS BMS Basics Selecting the Screen Saver If a screen saver is displayed during the manual or automatic locking of the Neutrino BMS, click on the symbol in the BMS display bar to open the drop down window with the functional group. Open the Extras functional group and select the OPERTOR SETTINGS program by clicking on to it. Note: The screen saver only will displayed, if the operator Query was set-up. In the Operator Settings window you can select a screen saver using the Screen Saver selection field. Click on the arrow of this selection field and select the desired screen saver in the drop down window. ctivate the activate after options field by clicking on to it and using the Minutes selection field select the waiting time for the display of the screen saver with the arrow key. Confirm the selection with the [OK] button, so that the screen saver selected is displayed in accordance with the setting. This will open an information window in which the symbol displays the progress of the shutting sown procedure. Before you can switch off the Neutrino BMS, you must make a selection in the open Installation Level window.

Click on the [Restart BMS...] button, if you wish to carry out a warm start for the Neutrino BMS. The button [Restart system] button carries out the warm start of the system and Neutrino BMS. Note: The warm start of the system and the Neutrino BMS can take up to a few minutes. If you wish to shut down the Neutrino BMS, click on the [Shut down BMS] button. security query opens in which you need to confirm the shut down of the Neutrino BMS with the [Yes] button. Using the [No] button, the security query will close without taking over the selection. The safety query opens in which you click the [Yes] button to enter changes. With the [No] button, the security query will be closed without the code word having been changed. Note: You can only change the codes word if you has the required access rights. Fig. 1.4/4: Safety query for changing the code word If you have clicked on the [Yes] button in the security query, the New code word window will be opened. Fig. 1.4/5: New Code Word window In this window, enter first the valid code word in the Old code word entry field and then in the New code word entry field the new code word. The new code word has to be entered again in the Confirm new code word entry field. The [Cancel] button closes the window without saving the entry. To save the modified code word, click the [OK] button.

51 BMS Basics Time Management Page Time Management Brief Description TIME MNGEMENT is a program that is integral to the Neutrino BMS's basic software and is allocated to the BMS Status bar. Optionally, the functionality of the TIME MNGEMENT program can be extended with the optional RDIO CLOCK program. The TIME MNGEMENT program is intended for the time synchronization of the Neutrino BMS. This time synchronization can be carried out with a so-called time master, which specifies the date and time. The time synchronization can be carried out in three different fashions and is displayed in the BMS status bar with the corresponding symbol: No time master (free-wheel) Time master, DDC system Network and the NTP protocol (Neutrino BMS as NTP Client) Time master, Radio clock (optional) Time Synchronization No Time master (free-wheel) The time of the Neutrino BMS and the connected DDC systems is automatically synchronized by its own internal time signal only. The time for the Neutrino BMS can be set manually or changed as described in section DDC System as time master ttention: Changing the time manually on the Neutrino BMS has an effect on the trend curve recording. If the time is altered by more than sixty minutes, then it is not possible to synchronize the DDC system (used as time master) and the Neutrino BMS for time. The Neutrino BMS receives a time check from the time master every minute and checks this within 120 s. In the case of a time difference > 60 s, the time will be synchronized once a day or between 3.05 and 3.20 o'clock. The status of the time signal is displayed in the BMS status bar with the following signals: The Neutrino BMS is receiving the time signal from the time master. The Neutrino BMS is unable to receive the time signal due to a malfunction in the time master. The time difference between the time master time and the Neutrino BMS has exceeded sixty minutes so that for safety reasons synchronization will not take place.the time of the Neutrino BMS and of the time master have to be set manually to the same time so that synchronizing can take place.

52 Page Time Management BMS Basics Radio clock as time master (optional) If the RDIO CLOCK program is installed on your Neutrino BMS; the time standard (time signal) of the radio clock transmitter DCF-77 (atomic clock) will be used as the time master. The time of the Neutrino BMS will be synchronized with the time signal at a minimum of at least every 10 minutes. If the time of the Neutrino BMS or one of the DDC system deviates from that of the time master by more than a minute, a time synchronization procedure will be carried out. The status of the time signal is displayed in the BMS status bar with the following signals: (green) The Neutrino BMS receives the time signal of the time master. The time signal will be checked for two minutes before the time synchronization in order to rule out transmission errors. The checking of the time signal is completed and the time synchronization is carried out. The neutrino BMS can receive a time signal. The reception can be disturbed by atmospheric influences or the wrong choice of location for the antennae or the receiver djusting Time Manually Note: You can only change the date and time if your code word has the required access rights. If a time master is not used for the time synchronization, you can adjust the time of the Neutrino BMS manually. Click on the display field from date and time. 53 BMS Basics Time Management Page ttention: Every manual adjustment of date and time has consequences for the trend curve recording and should be carried out only if no time master is used for the time synchronization. If the date displayed in the BMS status bar does not conform to the calendar view of the Date Selection window, select the corresponding date. Should you wish to select a day in month other than that displayed, you can change to the previous or the next month using the arrow key next to the calendar view. Click on the corresponding day in the calendar view. The day selected will be marked yellow and the date selected will be displayed above the calendar view as well being displayed in the corresponding selection fields. lternatively, you can adjust the date using the selection fields. Click on the corresponding arrow and select the day or month in the drop down window open. The year can be adjusted with the arrow key directly. In the calendar view, the day selected will be marked yellow. You can select the hours and minutes in the drop down window open by clicking on the corresponding arrow. Should you wish to reset the selection for the date and time, click on the [Now] button. The adjustment will not be taken over and the previous settings will be displayed once again. Click on the [OK] button to take over the adjustment of the date and time. The time of the Neutrino BMS will be displayed according to the settings in the BMS status bar and used for the trend curve recording. With the [Cancel] button the window will be closed without taking over the adjustment to the time.

55 BMS Basics Printer Monitor Page Printer Monitor Brief Description PRINTER MONITOR is a program that is integral to the Neutrino BMS's basic software and is allocated to the BMS Status bar. You can a screen shot of your screen using the Printer Monitor program. Thus it is possible e.g. the plant status of the connected TBE (Technical Building Equipment) as a graphical form in a printout. The program PRINTER MONITOR is displayed in the BMS status symbol with the symbol. This symbol displays the status of the connected (network) printer. If this symbol flashes red, at least one printer is signalling an error or is switched off. Click the symbol in the BMS status bar to open the PRINTER MONITOR program. The Printer Monitor window opened and displays all the printers connected to the Neutrino BMS. Click on the [Screen printout] button if you wish to select a printer to print the screen shot in the opened window Printer Selection (see section 1.6.2) or save the screen shot as a PDF file (see section ). With the MLFUNCTION MESSGES DISPLY program, the malfunctions occurring in the TBE (Technical Building Equipment) are displayed as malfunction and system error messages and can be viewed by the operator in an individual display. The MLFUNCTION MESSGES DISPLY program is displayed with the gray symbol in the BMS status bar. If there is a malfunction in the BMS, the red symbol will be displayed instead of this gray symbol. The number adjacent to this symbol indicates the number of the malfunction messages or system error messages. If you wish to view information regarding the malfunction messages or system error messages, click on the red symbol in the BMS status bar. The Individual Display window will be opened, in which all the relevant information to the individual malfunction messages or system error messages are displayed. 63 BMS Basics Malfunction Message Display Page Displaying Messages Malfunction messages are intended for the monitoring of plant components in the TBE and are displayed if a malfunction occurs e.g. as the result of a limit being exceeded. System error messages are intended for the monitoring of the DDC system and the Neutrino BMS and are displayed if a malfunction occurs, e.g. a power outage within the bus system of the DDC system. The malfunction messages or system error messages are displayed in the BMS status bar with the following symbols red symbol: The malfunctions are present in the TBE (incoming malfunction message or system error message). The number adjacent to this symbol indicates the number of the malfunction messages or system error messages. green flashing symbol: The malfunctions in the TBE have been repaired, but the associated malfunction messages have not yet been confirmed (outgoing malfunction message or system error message). fter the confirmation of the malfunction, the gray symbol is displayed. Click on the symbol displayed in order to open the Individual Display window (see Fig. 1.7/2 and Fig. 1.7/3). This window displays the information regarding current malfunction messages or system error messages. This information provides details regarding the malfunction text, date, time, technical address, plain text and control circuit text as well as the status of this message. If multiple malfunction messages or system error messages are present, the previous received message is displayed. With the or symbol in the tool bar, you can display the previous or first message received. If you wish to display the next message, or that previously received, click on the or symbol in the tool bar. If your Neutrino BMS is connected in a network to other Neutrino BMS's or BMS operation places, the malfunction messages or system error messages can be displayed on this. Windows computers can be used as an operating place on which the optional PHWIN program must be installed. If the malfunction messages or system error message is displayed only on the screen of your Neutrino BMS or the BMS operating place connected, click on the Only own screen function under the View menu item in the menu bar. Malfunction Message In the Individual Display window the red symbol displays an incoming and with the green symbol an outgoing malfunction message. Malfunction messages can be parameterized with handling text. Incoming malfunction messages with handling text are displayed with the red symbol. Outgoing malfunction messages with handling text are displayed with the green symbol.

Malfunction messages or system error messages received after the window has been opened must be updated using the Update function under the View menu item in the menu bar or with the symbol in the tool bar. s a result, the newly received malfunction messages or system error messages can be displayed in the Individual Display window Displaying Malfunction in Plant Graphics If you wish to display the malfunction in a plant graphic, click on the Search Plant Graphic... function under the View menu item in the menu bar. The Search Plant Graphics window then opens. In this window, the plant graphics are displayed in which the BMS data points of a malfunction message are located. Confirming malfunction message In the Individual Display window (see Fig. 1.7/2) you can confirm malfunction messages without handling text in that you, (as is described) display the corresponding message and click on the [Confirm] button. In the case of malfunction messages with handling text, the malfunction must first be repaired in the TBE before this messages can be confirmed. If you have repaired the malfunction, click on the [Confirm] button. The Malfunction Handling window opens in which you have to enter the according entries regarding the cause of the malfunction and its repair in the Handling and Repair entry fields. Click on the corresponding entry field and enter the respective text over the keyboard. If you wish to add a date with time to the entries, click on the [Insert time] button. Note: If you have not yet repaired a malfunction, you will not be able to undertake any entries in the entry fields. Click on the [Confirm] button, in order to confirm to malfunction message with handling text.

Confirm this information window with the [OK] button and perform the corresponding entries as described. The entries undertaken will be saved and this window will be closed. This malfunction message will continue to be displayed in the BMS status bar with the green flashing symbol. If this malfunction message is to be confirmed, open the Malfunction Handling window as described (see Fig. 1.7/6). In this window, the [Last access] button is active. Click on this button if you wish to receive information regarding the operator that documented the cause of malfunction and its repair. n information window is opened in which are recorded the corresponding operator name and the time at which the entry to the cause of the malfunction and its repair were undertaken. Confirm this information window with the [OK] button. 75 BMS Basics Modem Monitor Page Modem Monitor Brief Description MODEM MONITOR is a program that is integral to the Neutrino BMS's basic software and is allocated to the BMS status bar. The MODEM MONITOR program is displayed with the symbol in the BMS status bar, if modems are parameterized for modem installation in the Neutrino BMS. Modem installations always consist of a minimum of two modems and the telephone network. Using a modem installation is used to establish a modem connection between the Neutrino BMS and a DDC system in the spatially remote TBE (Technical Building Equipment). You can connect several hundred DDC systems to the Neutrino BMS via modem connections. Fig. 1.8/1: Block diagram for modem connections You can use this program to configure modem connections in accordance with their requirements. The DDC parameters are transferred from the DDC systems to the Neutrino BMS using the configured telephone numbers and filter entries. The status of the modem connections will be displayed with the following symbols in the BMS status bar red flashing symbol: t least one modem is sending a error message or is switched off. green flashing symbol: t least one modem connection is being established. green symbol: t least one modem connection exists. yellow symbol: The modem connection is experiencing a configuration problem. 81 BMS Basics Modem Monitor Page Initializing Modem If you have selected a new telephone number for e.g. a DDC system, (see section ) or an error has emerged in a modem in the modem connection, you need to initialize the respective modem connection. Select the corresponding modem in the Remote Data Transmission Facilities window (see Fig. 1.8/4) by clicking on it. The selected modem is marked green. Click the [Initialize] button to initialize the selected modem. This modem will be displayed with the Initialization status and e.g. with the new telephone number of the DDC system. s a result, the Neutrino BMS can communicate with this DDC system The Initialization status will be displayed for this modem as long as the corresponding modem connection from the Neutrino BMS to the DDY system is established or contrarily, is ended (relieve). If you want to re-display the Remote Data Transmission - External Modem Installations window (see Fig. 1.8/3), click the Plants function under the View menu item in the menu bar or directly on the symbol in the tool bar. Note: Upon the automatic locking of the Neutrino BMS, the modem connections established will be ended and will not be automatically re-established.

Select the modem connection to the corresponding DDC system in the Remote Data Transmission - External Modem Installations window (see Fig. 1.8/3) by clicking. The selected modem connection is marked green. Click the Set-up function under the File menu item in the menu bar or directly on the symbol in the tool bar. The Set-up Modem Installations window opens in which you must configure the telephone number for the Neutrino BMS and the filter entire for the DDC parameter. The telephone number and the filter entries will be stored in the BMS database in filter table form. Note: Before you transfer the filter tables to the DDC System (see section ), you must first undertake the configuration of the telephone numbers and the filter entries in the following index card. In this index card, you must enter the telephone number of your Neutrino BMS in order to transfer this to the DDC system selected. Using this telephone number, the DDC system can communicate with the Neutrino BMS and the transfer the values of the DDC parameters. Click the [New...] button and enter the telephone number in the entry field in the window opened. Note: Enter the telephone number of your Neutrino BMS which the DDC system is to use for the transmission of the DDC parameter to the Neutrino BMS. Click the [OK] button, to take over the telephone number in the Telephone Numbers index card. The telephone number entered will be displayed in the display field of this index card. 84 Page Modem Monitor BMS Basics Parameterizing the Cyclical Verification If a cyclical verification (DDC alive check) of the modem connection should be carried out from the selected DDC-System to the Neutrino BMS, a DDC status parameter must be parameterized as a timer or marker with a corresponding time in the DDC System. The DDC system selected establishes the modem connection to the Neutrino BMS. The Neutrino BMS checks the availability of the modem connection within the pre-set time. If a modem connection is established within the set time, a change in value will be transferred to the Neutrino BMS with the DDC status parameter. In order for the verification of the modem connection to occur, you need to activate the Send status parameter option field. Enter the technical address of the parameterized DDC status parameter in the Technical address entry field e.g : /1. Click on the arrow of the respective selection field under Cycle time and select the time in the opened drop down window, that was parameterized in the DDC system. Note: The cycle time selected must correspond with the time set in the DDC system. Fig. 1.8/8: Telephone Numbers index card with status parameter s a result, the Neutrino BMS can send the DDC status parameters to the selected DDC systems in order to check the modem connection. If no change in value with the DDC status parameter is sent from the DDC System within the pre-set cycle time, it was not possible to establish a modem connection.

85 BMS Basics Modem Monitor Page If you wish to display the change in value of the DDC status parameter as e.g. a trend curve on a plant graphic and in the case of an error, issue a corresponding malfunction message, you need to parameterize a BMS status parameter on the Neutrino BMS. Click the [Parameterize...] button to parameterize the BMS status parameter. The Binary ctual Value window will open in which you can carry out the parameterizing. Note: The parameterizing of a BMS status parameter should only be carried out by operators with skills in parameterizing. Fig. 1.8/9: Binary ctual Value window You need to perform the following parameterizing: Plain text : Entry of any text, which should be used in all other programs for this BMS data point. [Trend curve...] button: Parameterizing of a trend curve in order to display the value alteration of the DDC status parameter as a trend curve in a plant graphic (see chapter 4 section 4.4.8) [Message...] button: Parameterizing of a malfunction message in order to display a disruption of the modem connection in the current malfunction message file of the OPERTION ND MLFUNCTION MESSGE program (see chapter 4 section 4.4.8). With the [Cancel] button this window will close without taking over the BMS status parameter. Click on the [OK] button, to take over the BMS status parameter in the Set-up Modem Installations window.

86 Page Modem Monitor BMS Basics In the Set-up Modem Installations window (see Fig. 1.8/10) click on the Trend Curves tab, to select trend curves in the associated index card as filter entries Selecting Trend Curves as Filter Entries In the Trend Curves index card, the DDC parameters of the selected DDC system are listed which are parameterized as BMS data points in the PRMETERIZING program using trend curves (see chapter 4 section 4.4.8). Select the desired trend curve by clicking on the corresponding option field, which is to be taken over as a filter entry. The trend curve selected is marked green and will be marked by the symbol. If you would like to select multiple trend curves, select the corresponding trend curve by clicking on it whilst holding the Shift key depressed. With the [Select] button, these trend curves will be selected and marked with the symbol. If the selection of a trend curve should be cancelled, click on the corresponding option field. If you wish to cancel the selection of more than one trend curves, select the corresponding trend curve and with depressed Shift key click on the [Unselect] button. The trend curves will be re-displayed with the symbol. The trend curve values of the selected trend curves (DDC parameter) will be collected in the trend memory of the corresponding DDC system and can be displayed as trend curves after transfer in the TREND CURVES program. Click on the Malfunction Messages tab, to select malfunction messages as filter entries in the associated index card Selecting Malfunction Messages as Filter Entries In the Malfunction Messages index card only the binary DDC parameters of the selected DDC systems are listed, that are parameterized in the PRMETRIZING program as BMS data points with the malfunction message (see chapter 4 section 4.4.8). Select the desired malfunction message by clicking on the corresponding option field, which is to be taken over as a filter entry. The malfunction message selected is marked green and will be marked by the symbol. If you wish to select more than one malfunction messages click on the corresponding malfunction message whilst holding the Shift key depressed. With the [Select] button, these malfunction messages will be selected and marked with the symbol. If the selection of a malfunction message should be cancelled, click on the corresponding option field. If you wish to cancel the selection of more than one malfunction message, select the corresponding malfunction message and with depressed Shift key click on the [Unselect] button. The malfunction message will be re-displayed with the symbol.

Fig. 1.8/12: Safety query ttention: First transfer all trend curve values from the trend memory and after that the telephone number and the filter entries to the DDC system. Click on the [No] button in the safety query and then on the [OK] button, in the Set-up Modem Installations window to take over the telephone number entered and the selected filter entries in the BMS data base in the form of filter tables. With the [Cancel] button the Set-up Modem Installations window will close without that the settings are taken over as filter tables. Open the Cyclical Calling window as described in section to transfer the trend curve values from the trend memory of the selected DDC system directly. fter you have transferred the trend curve values from the trend memory of the selected DDC system directly, you can transfer the filter tables to the selected DDC system. Re-open the Set-up Modem Installations window (see section 1.8.5) as described and click on the [Send] button. safety query will open (see Fig. 1.8/12), in which you must confirm the transfer of the filter tables via the corresponding modem connection to the selected DDC system with the [Yes] button. n information window will open with which the transfer of the filter table to the corresponding DDC system is displayed. With the [Cancel] button in this information window you can cancel the transfer.

The selected modem connection is marked green. Note: If values and statuses of the BMS data points are displayed in a program via a modem connection, the modem connection with the corresponding DDC system will be established automatically. Establishing a Modem Connection Manually If you wish to establish modem connection manually, click on the Establish function under the File menu item in the menu bar, or directly on the symbol in the tool bar. The Modem Connection window will open. Set the time in which the modem connection should be established manually using the arrow key. Fig. 1.8/14: Modem Connection window With the [Cancel] button the window will be closed without the modem connection being established manually. Click on the [OK] button to establish the modem connection for the set time manually. fter the set time has expired the modem connection will be ended automatically (relieve) and a the modem connection will be re-established. Ending a Modem Connection Manually If this modem connection should not be re-established, click on the Relieve function under the File menu item in the menu bar or directly on the symbol in the tool bar. safety query is opened in which you need to confirm the establishing of this modem connection with the [Yes] button. With the [No] button the safety query will be closed and the modem connection will be established automatically.

The Cyclical Calling window will open in which you can carry out the transfer of the trend curve values either directly or cyclically. Fig. 1.8/20: Cyclical Calling window Transferring Trend Curve Value Directly The trend curve values must first be transferred directly from the trend memory of the selected DDC system before the filter tables with the filter entries can be transferred from the Neutrino BMS to this DDC system (see section ). This will prevent the collected trend curve values in the trend memory of this DDC system from being deleted. In order for the trend curve value to be transferred directly, click on the Cyclical Calling window on the [Direct calling...] button. safety query will open in which you must confirm the establishment of the modem connection from the Neutrino BMS to the selected DDC systems with the [Yes] button. With the [No] button the safety query will be closed without the modem connection being established.

The following information window will open. Confirm this information window with the [OK] button. The transfer of the trend curve values will be carried out in the background.

96 Page Modem Monitor BMS Basics Fig. 1.8/24: Information Window Click on the [Cancel] button in the Cyclical Calling window to close this window once again Transferring Trend Curve Value Cyclically If the maximum memory capacity of the trend memory of a DDC system has been reached, a system error message will be generated and sent to the Neutrino BMS automatically. Thereupon, the Neutrino BMS will establish the modem connection to the corresponding DDC system and all trend curve values will be transferred from the trend memory of a DDC system to the Neutrino BMS. If a transfer of the trend curve values does not take place, e.g. due to a disturbed modem connection, the trend curve values will be taken over in the trend memory of a DDC system in a rolling fashion. This means that the oldest values will be overwritten with the new values. In order that the trend curve values of the trend memory is not overwritten due to a lacking memory capacity, you can determine the time for a cyclical transfer of the trend curve values individually. s a result, not all of the trend curve values will be transferred, but only those newly taken over after the last transfer to the trend memory will be transferred. If you wish to transfer trend curve values from a DDC system cyclically, select the modem connection of the corresponding DDC system by clicking in the window Remote Data Transmission - External Modem Installation (see section 1.8.8). The selected modem connection is marked green. First, activate Cyclical Calling in the window by clicking on a round option field. ccording to the activated round option fields, the angular option fields next to Weekly and under Times are activated or deactivated accordingly. If the Daily option field is activated, through clicking the corresponding option field under Times you can select the desired time for cyclical transfer. If the Weekly option field is activated, in addition to the selection of the time, a week day can be transferred cyclically by clicking on to the corresponding option field. The time or day selected is marked by the symbol. multiple selection is possible.

97 BMS Basics Modem Monitor Page If the selection of a time or day of the week should be cancelled, click on the corresponding field. This time or day of the week will be displayed with the symbol again. option Fig. 1.8/25: Cyclical Calling window With the [Cancel] button, the window will be closed without the settings being taken over. Click on the [OK] button to take over the transfer settings carried out. If you have activated the Daily, 01:00 and 19:00 options fields, the modem connection selected will be established daily at 1 o'clock and 19 o'clock and the trend curve values will be transferred from the corresponding DDC system to the Neutrino BMS. These transfers will be repeated cyclically every day. If you want to end the cyclical transfers, activate by clicking on the None option field.

98 Page Modem Monitor BMS Basics Changing Settings of a Modem Connection If you wish to change settings of a modem connection, select the corresponding modem connection by clicking in the Remote Data Transmission - External Modem Installation window (see Fig. 1.8/3). The selected modem connection is marked green. s described in section for these modem connection, you can also edit the telephone number of the Neutrino BMS as well as the filter tables with the filter entries or the trend curves and malfunction messages. If the telephone number of the DDC system has changed, you can carry out the changes of the telephone number in the Edit Call Number window (see Fig. 1.8/26). s a result, the neutrino BMS can reach the DDC system under the changed telephone number Editing or Selecting Telephone Number of a DDC System Editing a Telephone Number If you want to edit the telephone number of the DDC system, click on the Edit Call Number function under the Options menu item in the menu bar. The Edit Call Numbers window opens, in which the telephone numbers for the DDC systems already entered are listed. Fig. 1.8/26: Edit Call Numbers window If you want to add a telephone number, enter the relevant number in the Call number entry field. Click the [dd] button to add the telephone number entered in the list. If a telephone number is to be altered, select the corresponding number from the list by clicking on it. The telephone number selected will be marked green and is displayed in the Call number entry field. Overwrite this telephone number in the entry field and click on the [Change] button. The changed telephone number will be displayed in the list.

99 BMS Basics Modem Monitor Page Click on the arrow of the Modem group selection field and select the relevant modem group from the opened drop down window. The modem group selected is marked green and its name will be taken over in the selection field. If you want to delete a telephone number, choose the corresponding telephone number from the list by clicking on to it. The selected telephone number is marked green. Click the [Delete] button to delete the telephone number from the list. ttention: No safety query will appear whilst deleting a telephone number. With the [Cancel] button the Edit Call Numbers window (see Fig. 1.8/26) will be closed without taking over the changes. Click on the [OK] button in this window in order to take over the changes in the Select Call Number window. You need to select the telephone number of the DDC system in the Select Call Number window so that the Neutrino BMS can build up the communication to the DDC System and is able to receive the trend curves and malfunction messages. Selecting a Telephone Number Click on the Select Call Number function under the Options menu item in the menu bar in order to select the telephone number for a DDC system. The Select Call Number window will open in which the telephone numbers of the DDC systems are listed which were entered or changed in the Edit Call Number window. Select the desired telephone number which is to be used by the Neutrino BMS for the communication with the DDC system. The selected telephone number is marked green. In comparison to the DDC Central DDC3000, the DDC Centrals HRP and LRP can manage only two telephone numbers. If you have already entered two telephone numbers for the Neutrino BMS, the [New...] button opens an information window. Confirm the information window by clicking the [OK] button. The selected telephone number is marked green. Click the [Edit] button, to change over the telephone number. Mark the entry in the entry field of the opened window and overwrite it with the desired telephone number. 104 Page Modem Monitor BMS Basics Setting Up Callback (Optional) Using the optional BMS Callback function in the MODEMMONITOR program, you can set-up a callback to a Windows computer so that operators of e.g. the standby service personnel can view the status of the TG without any cost and change it where necessary. fter the callback function has been set-up on a Windows computer in the optional PHWIN CLLBCK program and in the Remote Data Transmission BMS Callback window, a remote data transmission connection must be configured on this Windows computer. Consequently, the Windows computer can establish the connection to the Neutrino BMS and transfer the corresponding callback number. fter the transfer of the callback number, the establishment of the connection will be ended by the Windows computer. The Neutrino BMS checks the identity of the callback number communicated and upon an authorized callback number, re-establishes the connection and transfers the user interface to this Windows computer. fter the Neutrino BMS has established a connection to the Windows computer via callback, you have the same operating alternatives as on your Neutrino BMS, depending on your access rights Displaying Telephone Numbers for Callback If you want to display to the operator the telephone number with which the callback from the Neutrino BMS should occur, click on the BMS Callback function under the View menu item in the menu bar or directly on the symbol in the tool bar. The Remote Data Transmission BMS Callback window will open, in which, where applicable, the already set-up operators are listed with name and telephone number. 105 BMS Basics Modem Monitor Page Setting Up a Telephone Number for Callback If you want to set-up the telephone number of operators for a callback, click on the [New...] button. The Define Callback Number window will open, in which you need to enter the names and telephone numbers for the corresponding operators in the corresponding entry fields. By clicking on the corresponding option field, you can select the status for the callback. The following possibilities are available: lways : clear the call-back without temporal restrictions. Locked : lock the call-back Time limit : clear the call-back with temporal restrictions. If you have activated the Time limit options field, click in the respective entry field and enter the date with the corresponding time. Note: When entering the date, you must divide the individual figures using a dot, e.g and with the entry of the time the minutes must be divided from the hour using a colon e.g. 12:00. Single figures must be preceded by a 0. With the [Cancel] button, the window will be closed without the settings being taken over. The selected operator name is marked green. Click on the [Edit...] button, or double click on the selected operator names. The Define Callback Number window will open, in which you can alter the operator name and the telephone number in the entry fields and alter the status of the callback by clicking on the corresponding option field. Deleting a Telephone Number If you want to delete the telephone number of operators for callback, select the corresponding operator name in the Remote Data Transmission - BMS-Callback window by clicking on the corresponding operator name (see Fig. 1.8/34). The selected operator name is marked green. Click on the [Delete] button. safety query is opened in which you need to delete the telephone number for the callback with the [Yes] button. With the [No] button the safety query will be closed without the telephone number being deleted.

109 BMS Basics Modem Monitor Page Changing the live Check for Modem Connections live check is designed for the automatic verification of communication and the modem connections between the Neutrino BMS and the DDC system and is configured with the installation of the Neutrino BMS. The Neutrino BMS establishes the modem connection to the selected DDC system of a spatially remote TBE and checks the availability of this modem connection. Note: Changes to this configuration should only be performed by operators with familiarity with the alive check. If you want to change this configuration, click on the Configure live Check... function under the Options menu item in the menu bar. It opens the window Configure live Check in which you can alter the settings for the configuration by clicking on the options field. The following possibilities for the configuration are available: live check : With this options field, a check can be carried out periodic, at interval or to time program. Settings : Using the selection field it is possible to select how often the modem connection should be checked. It is also possible to enter the intervals which should separate the checks. Options : Using this option field the modem connection can be checked once after the system start has been carried out, and in the case of a fault, can be locked. Do Not Carry Out ny live Checks If you have activated the Do not carry out periodic alive check option field by clicking on to it, the first option field, the selection and entry fields under Options the option fields, as well as under Settings are all active. Under Options activate the Perform alive check once after system start options field by clicking on to it, so that the verification is carried out once, and after the system start as been carried out. dditionally, activate (by clicking) the Lock modem installation, if alive check is negative options field, if in the case of an error, the modem connection is to be locked automatically. Note: If the modem connection is locked after being checked, this DDC system will not be capable of further communication. If the modem is to be checked once again before locking it, select under Settings the number of repetitions of the verification using the Number of repeats in case of failure selection field. In the Pause between repeats entry field enter a time for the interval between the individual checks. In the case of an error, the establishment of the connection and checking of the modem connection will be repeated with the pre-set intervals, according to this number. Note: When entering the interval times, the minutes must be separated from the hours by a colon, e.g. 00:05:00. single figures must be preceded by a 0. Perform live Check with Interval If you have activated the Perform alive check at intervals option field, you need to enter the time for the interval under live check in the Interval entry field. The modem connection will be established and checked in accordance with the interval. Note: When entering the time for the intervals, the minutes must be separated from the hours by a colon, e.g. 00:30:00. Single figures must be preceded by a 0. dditionally, under Settings and Options you can perform further setting tasks as described.

111 BMS Basics Modem Monitor Page Perform live Check with Time Program If you have activated (by clicking) the Perform alive check according to time program options field, you additionally need to activate the Daily or Weekly options field by clicking on to it. With the activated Daily options field the [Change...] button next to Times are active. Click on this button to set the time(s) for the check(s) in the open Times window by clicking on the corresponding option field. The time set is indicated by the symbol. With the [Cancel] button the window will be closed without taking over the setting. Click on the [OK] button to take over the setting of the time(s) in the Configure live Check window. Fig. 1.8/40: Time window With the activated Weekly options field the [Change...] button next to Days and Times are active. With the [Change...] button next to Days the Days of the Week window is opened in that by clicking on the corresponding option field you can set the day or days for the check(s). The day set is indicated by the symbol. With the [Cancel] button the window will be closed without taking over the setting. Click on the [OK] button to take over the setting of the day or days in the Configure live Check window. Button [Message...]: Parameterized of a malfunction message in order to display a during the disruption of the modem connection in the current malfunction message of the OPERTION ND MLFUNCTION MESSGES program (see chapter 4 section 4.4.8). With the [Cancel] button the window will be closed without the parameterizing being taken over. Click the [OK] button to take over the parameterizing for the status parameter. 115 BMS Basics Notebook Page Notebook Brief Description NOTEBOOK is a program that is integral to the Neutrino BMS's basic software and allocated to the Extras functional group. You can use the NOTEBOOK to create, archive and send texts for messages and instructions. The texts produced for instructions can be used as fade in points and displayed in the OPERTOR LEVEL as subsequent image Instruction Text (see chapter 2 section ). If the optional FX, SHORT TEXT (SMS), CITY PGING and E-MIL programs are installed on the Neutrino BMS, the NOTEBOOK will become a communication central. You will receive an overview of the message sent as fax, SMS or city page in the respective journal. Information regarding the s sent or received can be viewed in a separate window. If the optional VOICE program is installed on the Neutrino BMS, you will receive an overview in the voice journal regarding the voice messages sent from the STNDBY SERVICES. Click on the symbol in the BMS status bar in order to open the drop down window with the functional groups. Open the Extras functional group and select the NOTEBOOK program by clicking on to it. fter the program NOTEBOOK has been opened, the Notebook window will be displayed. This window contains the usual function of a word processing program under the Edit menu item in the menu bar or as a symbol in the tool bar. Save the notebook with the desired file name as described. If you have entered a text in a notebook file without having saved it, a safety query will open with the New function or with the symbol. The Open window will open in which all the notebook files are listed. Select the desired notebook file by clicking on it. The notebook file selected is marked green and its name will be taken over in the File name entry field. 121 BMS Basics Notebook Page Editing a Notebook File If you wish to perform changes in a notebook file, open the relevant notebook file as described in section Searching and Replacing Term in a Notebook File If you want to search in the opened notebook file for certain terms and possible replace these with other terms, click on the Search... or Replace... function under the Edit menu item in the menu bar. The Search and Replace window will open with the activated Search index card. The [Cancel] button closes this window. Enter the relevant term to be searched in the Search for entry field. Click on the arrow of the Search direction selection field, if you wish to select a different search direction in the opened drop down window than Total. The selected search direction e.g. Downward is marked green and will be displayed in the selection field. You can limit the search criteria further with the option fields. If you want to replace the term sought for with another term, click on the Replace tab, to display the associated index card. dditionally, enter the term which is to replace the term sought in the Replace with entry field. Fig. 1.9/7: Search and Replace window Using the [Continue search] or [Replace] button, the term entered will be displayed or replaced which is located on the first position in the text.

The Open window will open in which you need to select the corresponding notebook file as described in section The text of the selected notebook file will be inserted at the location of the cursor in the current notebook file Saving a Notebook File under nother Name If you want to save the an opened notebook file under a different name, click on the Save as... function under the File menu item in the menu bar. The Create directory window will open in which you need to enter a name for the new directory in the entry field. With the [Return] button, you can return to the previous directory Setting Up a Notebook File If you want to set-up a notebook file for the headers and footers as well as the margins in order to print or send by fax, open the corresponding notebook file as described in section Setting Up Header and Footer for a Notebook File If you want to set-up header and footer for the opened notebook file, click on the Header and Footer... function under the Edit menu item in the menu bar. The Header and Footer window will open, in which you can enter the corresponding text for the header and footer. Click on the arrow of this selection field and select the header or footer in the drop down window. The selection e.g. header is marked green and will be displayed in the selection field. With the [Cancel] button, the window will be closed without the header and footer being set-up. Note: The header and footer are faded out in the notebook file, but will be printed or faxed.

125 BMS Basics Notebook Page Setting Up Margins for a Notebook File If you want to set-up the margins for the opened notebook file, click on the Margins... function under the Edit menu item in the menu bar. The Margins window will open, in which you can set-up the margins with the arrows of the selection fields. lternatively, you can enter a value for the margins in the corresponding selection fields. If you want to alter the format, click on the page symbol in the centre of the window. You have the choice between portrait and landscape. Fig. 1.9/13: Margins window Click on the [OK] button to take over the settings for the margins. With the button [Cancel] the window will be closed without the margins being set-up. Note: The margins will not be considered in the notebook file, the text will however be printed or faxed with margins.

The Print window will open in which you can perform the printout or PDF print in the respective settings Printing a Notebook File In the Print window you can select a printer with the [Selection] button, and using the corresponding option field, you can select the print range. In the Status column of this window, the status messages of the printer are displayed. 131 BMS Basics Notebook Page Sending a Message from the Notebook If you want to send this message from the notebook, you can send this message as either a notebook file by fax or by or as an alpha numerical text by city paging or short text message Sending a Fax (Optional) If you want to send a message by fax, enter the text in the opened notebook file or select a notebook file as described in section Click the Fax... function under the Options menu item in the menu bar, or click directly on the symbol in the tool bar. lternatively you can select the s Fax... function via the Send function under the File menu item in the menu bar. The Send Fax window opens in which the set operator are listed with name and fax number. With the [Close] button closes this window again. Fig. 1.9/24: Window Send Fax Note: The recipients displayed were set-up in the STNDBY SERVICES (see chapter 5 section 5.5.). If you want to send the fax to another recipient, click on the [nother Recip....] button (see section Sending a Fax to nother Recipient ). Selecting a Recipient and Sending a Fax Select the desired recipient in the relevant option field in the list by clicking on the corresponding option field. The selected recipient is indicated by the symbol. multiple selection is possible. Click on the [Send] button to send a fax.

This information window will close automatically when the fax has been sent completely. Click on the [No] button if the fax should be sent after all. 133 BMS Basics Notebook Page The faxes were either sent manually from the NOTEBOOK by an operator, or automatically, due to an unconfirmed malfunction message from the STNDBY SERVICES. If a collective malfunction message was configured in the STNDBY SERIVCES; instead of a single unconfirmed malfunction message, a collective malfunction message will be sent and the individual malfunction messages will be suppressed. The despatch of the collective malfunction message will be sent only when several unconfirmed malfunction messages appear within a defined distance (period). This window displays the information regarding the faxes despatched. You can receive the following information from the separate columns: Date : The point in time at which the fax was sent. Name : The recipient name to which the fax was sent, or the number of suppressed malfunction messages of a collective malfunction message. Recipient No. : The telephone number of the recipient to which the fax was sent or Suppressed for a collective malfunction message sent. Operator : The operator name which sent the fax, Collective message for a collective malfunction message sent or Message for a malfunction message sent, which has not yet been confirmed. The symbol in the Date column displays the exact status, and are listed once more in the lower margin of the window with the corresponding explanation. The status of the fax can be: In progress: Modem is currently dialling or transmitting the fax to the selected fax machine. Sent: Fax was successfully sent from the Neutrino BMS to the selected fax machine. Transm. error: Fax could not be sent from the Neutrino BMS to the selected fax machine. Note: Verify the recipient number or the telephone extension. If both are fully functioning, please consult your provider. Suppressed: Fax of a collective malfunction message sent to the respective fax machine of the standby service personnel. If you want to delete faxes with the In Progress status from the list of the FX Journal window, click on the [Delete queue] button. safety query is opened in which you need to confirm the deletion with the [Yes] button. The Send window will open, in which the corresponding entries for the recipient(s) must be performed in the To, Copy to and Subject entry fields over the keyboard. With the respective [Selection...] button, you can select a previously set-up recipient as described under Select Recipient. Fig. 1.9/31: Send window Note: You need to enter an address in the to entry field to send the . Further entries are optional and not necessary in order to send the message. With the [Cancel] button the window will be closed again without the being sent. Click the [Send] button to send the to the recipient entered or selected. If you have not entered an address an information window will be opened with the [Send] button. Confirm this information window with the [OK] button and enter the address of the recipient by keyboard in the To entry field and click on the [Send] button. The Edit ddress window will open, in which the entries for the new recipient must be performed in the Name and ddress entry fields via keyboard. Editing Entries for a Recipient If you want to edit the entries for a recipient, select the desired recipient in the list of the ddress book window (see Fig. 1.9/35) by clicking in the corresponding option field. With the [Cancel] button the Edit ddress window will be closed without the entries changed being taken over. Click the [OK] button to take over the entries changes for the selected recipient in the ddress book window. Deleting a Recipient If you want to delete a recipient, select the desired recipient in the list of the ddress book window (see Fig. 1.9/35) by clicking in the corresponding option field. Verify the recipient number or the telephone extension. If both are fully functioning, please consult your provider. If you want to delete city pages with the In Progress status from the list of the City Paging Journal window, click on the [Delete queue] button. safety query is opened in which you need to confirm the deletion with the [Yes] button. With the [No] button the safety query will be closed without the city pages with the In progress status being deleted. 153 BMS Basics Remote Control Page Remote Control Brief Description REMOTE CONTROL is a program that is integral to the Neutrino BMS's basic software and allocated to the Extras functional group. The REMOTE CONTROL program is active only if the optional OPERTION BMS VI MODEM or OPERTION BMS VI ETHERNET program is installed on the Neutrino BMS. Click on the symbol in the BMS status bar in order to open the drop down window with the functional groups. Open the Extras functional group and select the REMOTE CONTROL program by clicking on to it. With the REMOTE CONTROL program use can establish network connections to other Neutrino BMS in order to communicate with these. Network communication in a local network (local area network) is established with the optional program OPERTION BMS VI ETHERNET and in a remote data transmission network ( wide area network) with the OPERTION BMS VI MODEM optional program. With a network connection, the operator interface of another Neutrino BMS can be displayed on your Neutrino BMS. If the optional DISTRIBUTED NETWORK program is installed on the Neutrino BMS, a windows interface can be displayed on your Neutrino BMS. Fig. 1.10/1: Network

In this window, the Neutrino BMS are listed with plant name, connection type as well as BMS number, for which a network connection with the corresponding access data are set-up. 155 BMS Basics Remote Control Page Setting Up, Changing or Deleting ccess Data Setting Up ccess Data If a new Neutrino BMS was integrated in an existing network, you need to set-up a network connection for this Neutrino BMS with corresponding access data. network can consist of a total of up to 99 Neutrino BMS, so that you can set-up the access data for 98 Neutrino BMS on your Neutrino BMS network connections. If you want a network connection with the access data for the new Neutrino BMS, click on the [New...] button in the BMS Remote Control window. (see Fig. 1.10/2). The window "BMS ccess Data" will open in which you can perform the entries in the entry fields using the keyboard as well as select the set-up of the access data with the selection fields in accordance with the network connection. Fig. 1.10/3: BMS ccess Data window In the Plant name entry field enter a plant name for the new Neutrino BMS with a maximum of fifty characters. In the Note entry field you can enter information about the new network connection. Click on the arrow of the Connection type selection field to select the type of connection in the drop down window by clicking on to it. The following connection types are available for a network LN - local network (LN = local area network), WN - Remote Data Transmission Network (WN = wide area network) as well as RDP - Windows Terminal (RDP = remote desktop protocol).

Connection Type LN In the BMS number entry field a BMS number for the new Neutrino BMS will be given to the Neutrino BMS already set-up automatically in ascending numeration. The pre-determined BMS number should be changed only in exceptional cases. The operation and malfunction messages of the individual Neutrino BMS are allocated with the BMS numbers. Note: If changing a pre-determined BMS number, ensure that you do not issue a duplicate number. The BMS number 1 can not be allocated as this number identifies your own Neutrino BMS. Enter the TCP/IP address of the new Neutrino BMS in the TCP/IP address entry field. dditionally, you need to set-up the new access data for you Neutrino BMS on the new Neutrino BMS with the TCP/IP address. Communication between the Neutrino BMS takes place in the local network via the TCP/IP protocol. Note: You can receive the TCP/IP addresses of the new Neutrino BMS from your provider. Connection Type WN s for the connection type LN, change the pre-determined BMS number where necessary, as described and enter a TCP/IP address. Enter the in the Call number entry field the telephone number of the new Neutrino BMS. Note: In the case of a telephone private automatic branch exchange enter the complete telephone number with internal pre-selection number in the Call number entry field, because the connection occurs via a pre-selection. Select the modem group using the Modem group selection field e.g. nalog for an analog modem connection. ccording to this selection, the modem connection will be established either analog, ISDN or by radio. In the Modem PPP name entry field enter the name of the operator with the corresponding access rights to establish a modem connection to the Neutrino BMS. in the Modem PPP code word entry field enter the code word of the operator. Note: In the OPERTOR CCOUNTS program of the corresponding Neutrino BMS, an operator account must be set-up for the operator with an allocated operator name and code word (see chapter 4 section 4.3). Communication between the Neutrino BMS takes place in the remote data transmission network via PPP (point to point protocol).

157 BMS Basics Remote Control Page Connection Type RDP Enter the TCP/IP as described for the connection type LN. dditionally, you need to perform the entries in the Modem PPP name entry field as well as Modem PPP code word entry field as described for the connection type WN. Communication between the Neutrino BMS and the Windows computers takes place in RDP network via the TCP/IP protocol. Taking over ccess Data With the [Cancel] button, the window will be closed without the access data of the new Neutrino BMS being taken over. Click on the [OK] button to take over the access data for the new Neutrino BMS. The new Neutrino BMS will be added in the list in the BMS Remote Control window (see Fig. 1.10/2). allocated BMS Number twice If you have allocated a BMS number twice, opens an information window with the [OK] button in the BMS ccess Data window. Confirm the information window with the [OK] button and change the BMS number entered. Click the [OK] button to confirm the entries. If you have entered the operator name and code word correctly, the network connection will be established. Network Connection in a Local Network If you have selected the connection type LN in the set-up of the access data of this Neutrino BMS, (see section ), the network connection will be established in a local network via the INTRNET and displayed with the following window.
