In Africa ongoing efforts by WMO and partners: In Burkina Faso, Niger, Mali, Senegal, Guinea, (1) The activity is executed under, and funded by, the Programme of Cooperation for Climate Change Adaptation in West Africa component 4 : Implementation of data rescue programs and producing national climatologies
7 Status in Climate Data Management in the countries ( 2012) WMO Survey shows: 137 countries in 2012 ( 72 % of WMO Members) 92 % use computer systems to store their data, RDBMS, or Excel 18 % still using the outdated CLICOM system 40 % have their CDMS not properly working or out of service
