Define a new generation of -developed and delivered services that advance and support R&E Work with our members and service providers to develop solutions that meet unique R&E needs for performance, usability, and security Provide a single point of contracting and provisioning for the Internet2 Leverage our members buying power for better pricing and terms Leverage the Internet2 network and other services such as InCommon

3 Approach Coordinate existing Internet2 above-the-network initiatives Develop a technical and business model for above-the-network services Leverage the network, middleware initiatives and federated authentication within a unified services organization Develop new programs with third-party service providers exploring: Alternative specifications Interoperability requirements Service level definitions Business services and pricing models

4 Four Phases of NET+ Services Research Incubator Service Validation Early Adopter General Availability Trial phase with limited expectation of production pilot from as is state Member CIOs as steering committee. Proof-ofconcept, tuning of service and development of business model. Up to 10 early adopter. Business model finalized. Master Contract developed. Full availability to target. Contracts signed and service level agreements in place.
