This plug-in software for the AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Maps 3D software packages has long been an important product for Leica Geosystems and AutoCAD users. It allowss the use of point cloud data d inside the AutoCAD design system. This release has a completely new user interface, integrated into AutoCAD s A ribbon format. It also provides many key enhancements, including UCS oreintation tools, user friendly workplane, Points on a Grid and intelligen point cloud Osnaps called SmartPicks. 2 Great User Value In addition to a complete overhaul of the user interface the new features provide great value to new and existing users alike. This should enhance both new sales and CCP upgrades and a great reward to those customers who have been maintaining their CCP all along. New Orientation Tools Users will find many new tools on the Orientation pane in the new ribbon. The new tools allow users to quickly and easily align the User Coordinate System (UCS) to the point cloud with a few picks. Once the UCS is aligned it is easy to change between Plan View and Elevation View for generation of linework. To create 2D drawings from 3D point clouds, you must manipulate the UCS (User Coordinate System) which is a standard AutoCAD capability. This can be difficult for new 3D users. The CloudWorx orientation tools provide simple tools that let you set the UCS to the cloud with just a few picks. Then you can also set the appropriate view easily to have an aligned plan view or looking straight at the face of a structure, the ground, etc. A few simple cloud picks set the UCS Easy control of viewpoint and workplane to start sketching New Workplane Feature The Workplane will follow the UCS and provides a fast, easy and accurate support when creating 2D drawings from 3D data. When turned on, all points that are snapping to the point cloud will be projected to the workplane. However, the SmartPicks will override the Workplane when both are on It can difficult to extract 2D drawings from 3D data but is a very common requirement. CloudWorx provides easy to use tools for a highly productive drafting capability. Unique workplane provides an easy to understand and use 2D drafting method. Only available in CloudWorx extension even though it uses basic underlying AutoCAD capabilities. Points-on-a-grid This command provides easy to use tools for defining a grid on the ground and selecting an area of interest for inserting survey ground points. The user can launch an automated algorithm that automatically and intelligently places survey points using a selected SmartPick setting. A highly productive automated surveying tool used to collect a set of survey points most typically used for generating a ground surface\tin. Leverages the power of the computer to survey 10 s or 100 s or 1,000 s of points with a single command. Perform a Virtual Survey of large areas in just a few minutes that could take hours with traditional field methods. Smart Picks Smart picking is a customized Osnap type feature that assists the user in selecting the exact point of interest by using powerful algorithms to analyze the user pick and return the best point that matches the settings SmartPicks provide unique and powerful capability. You pick in a general area and the SmartPick finds the could point that meets your requirements. Easy to use and understand SmartPicks make it easy to get the right point. Leica CloudWorx for AutoCAD Basic CloudWorx for AutoCAD Basic has been updated with all new ribbon layout and redesigned icons but it DOES NOT have any of the new features as provided in the Pro version. 4 License, Pricing and Article Numbers The CloudWorx for AutoCAD pricing has been updated as part of the new CLM price and article number overhaul. All users on CCP will need a new license and will need to execute the license migration process to get a new CLM based license. This version of CloudWorx uses the new CLM licensing system. This new licensing model is fully explained in the Leica Cyclone and CloudWorx Client License Management System.pdf, found in the Cyclone install directory.
