CAGR = 9% Refer to indirect opportunities for MEMS to support the backbone infrastructure of IoT e.g. data centers (as opposed to direct applications of MEMS as sensor nodes). 17 Who benefits from rising demand for MEMS & Sensors for industrial IoT? The giants of consumer and mobile applications STMicroelectronics, Bosch, Knowles, InvenSense are all targeting industrial IoT. Chance for companies with low-cost, low-power sensors initially for CE but that no longer want to take part in the red-ocean ADI and Freescale now re-focus on industrial, medical, and infrastructure. Opportunity for companies offering bundles: sensor + connectivity IC + microcontroller. e.g. ST and Freescale Opportunities for the long tail of the sensor suppliers The lion s share not at the semiconductor hardware level, rather for data analytics GE sold most of its sensor hardware business end of 213 to Amphenol. Still GE generated $1.1 billion in 214 with IoT analytics generated directly from sensors installed on GE medical equipment and jet engines 17

Wearables are a hotbed for a wider variety of sensors IoT starts to impact the High Value MEMS market Opportunity not only for wireless sensors, also for MEMS actuators to support the backbone infrastructure of IoT MEMS is only part of the IoT story.
