1 Your web page is divided into 3 columns. Originally, all teachers started with the same 2 Window areas and 4 basic components. Navigation buttons (Touts) are specific to different sections of the website. These cannot be modified by the teacher. The middle section (Window 1) is the widest section of the page. It is usually 450 pixels wide. The right column is great for your links and downloads. It is normally 220 pixels wide. It is best to resize pictures before uploading them. Knowing the column width in pixels will help you when you are trying to determine how big you want your picture to be. Pictures placed into the middle column (Window 1) should be no larger than 450 pixels. Pictures placed into the right column (Window 2) should be no larger than 220 pixels. Updated on October 31,

Collect your Pictures You can get pictures or clipart from the internet, or you can take pictures and upload them into iphoto. Save your pictures to your desktop or into a folder on your desktop.

3 Change the inches setting to pixels. Remember Window 1 is 450 pixels wide Max. and Window 2 is 220 pixels wide Max. Change the width to a size that you think will be good for your window size and click OK. Now go to File and down to Save As.... Save it with a unique name to you. Fill out the Title, Sub-Title and Window Text area.

Navigate to your picture and click Choose.

Adding Pictures to a News Article You have to first create a New News Article by clicking Add a New News Article. Complete the different sections and save it.

8 There are 2 ways to add an image to a News Article. You can add a Thumbnail Image or you can add an Embedded Image A Thumbnail Image is small (no larger than 100 pixels) and shows on the main page. Adding Pictures to the Links Area Once you are in the Edit Links

Click Choose File and then navigate to your picture and click

The link you just created will now work when you click on this picture. People will look at pictures before words so it is a good idea to use pictures as your links. Updated on October 31,

Adding Pictures to the Downloads Area Once you are in the Edit

These pictures appear beside your Download title.

12 Adding Pictures to the Downloads Area Once you are in the Edit Downloads area, you will need to create a new Download. Click Choose File and then navigate to your picture and click Choose.
