You will save time and prevent wrong installation of components by closely following these step-by-step instructions. If you have questions, call Ag Leader Technology at ext. 1. 4 Ag Leader Technology Preliminary Installation Checks NOTE: All optional CAN Bus Power Extension Cables must be from the following chart. These cables are designed to extend the CAN Bus and power circuits correctly. PN: ft. extension PN: ft. extension PN: ft. extension CAUTION: Hydraulic equipment should be on hydraulic safety stops, pressure relieved, machine systems turned off and all machine motion stopped before starting work. IMPORTANT: Check behind vehicle and implement panels for any hoses, wiring, controls, etc. that could be damaged when drilling mounting holes for control modules. IMPORTANT: Use the Dielectric grease to coat the seals and terminals of each connector that will be exposed to weather and chemicals as you plug them in. IMPORTANT: Disconnect battery ground; by not disconnecting battery ground you may damage machine or components during installation. Installation Instructions 1. Connect the Power Cable PN: to the battery cables. The red terminal goes to the positive cable and the black terminal goes to the negative cable. IMPORTANT: Leave the battery ground disconnected. 2. Route the Power Cable into the cab and connect the black 2-pin Deutsch plug to the black 2-pin receptacle on the Display Cable. The Power Cable must connect to the black receptacle to properly power the control module. 3. Avoid pinch points, sharp edges and allow extra slack where needed at pivot points. 4. Mount both modules on the implement frame within six inches of each other for cabling to reach both modules. PN: October 2007-Rev B Page 4 of 5

5 IMPORTANT: Do not drill holes in tool bar mainframe. Due to high stress loads on toolbar, cracking may occur from drilled holes. 5. Be sure to mount the modules in a place that is protected from impact and other damage. An extra Module Mounting Plate Kit PN: may be purchased from Ag Leader. NOTE: To properly connect and disconnect the CAN Bus terminals, firmly pinch the metal clip against the plastic connector and then connect or disconnect the ends as needed. 6. Remove the Terminator PN: from the Implement Cable and connect CAN Bus Line PN: to the black side of Y-Splice. 7. Connect the Y-Splice PN: to the CAN Bus Line from step six. 8. Connect CAN Bus Stub PN: to gray side of the second Y-Splice and connect gray 4-pin Deutsch plug to gray 4-pin Deutsch receptacle marked CAN BUS of second control module. 9. Connect Terminator from step three to the black side of the second Y-Splice. NOTE: Make certain that all CAN Bus Stubs connected to the control modules are of a different length. 10. When connecting high power to modules connect systems to one power source. Example: on the Liquid Product Control Module connect the module power and the boom valve power to the same color terminals such as both gray power connectors. It may be necessary to use the Power Splitter Cable PN: on the black circuit. 11. Reconnect battery ground and replace any panels removed during installation. PN: October 2007-Rev B Page 5 of 5
