4 WG1 work scope and work method Current work scope WG1 focus on the applications and facilities layer WG1 set up work items based on Minimum Set of Standards defined for EC mandate 453 Most of WIs are already started WG1 collaborates with other WGs for harmonization WG2 architecture WG3 networking and transport WG5 security WG1 works closely with industrial organization Car 2 Car Communication Consortium WG1 exchanges information with Field Operational Test and R&D projects WG1 works on international harmonization Work methods: Regular WG meetings Ad hoc work meetings Joint meetings with other WGs discussions Special Task Force (STF) 4

6 Main achievements TR : Basic set of applications A set of applications that scope our current specification work A set of applications that are considered deployable at first step after standardization completion Safety, traffic efficiency and other applications are included in the BSA TS sets: TS : BSA functional requirements Functional analysis of all use cases belonging to the BSA TS : Cooperative Awareness Basic Service A heartbeat message that is sent periodically by vehicles and road side TS : Decentralized Environmental Notification Basic Service An event driven message that announces the detected road hazard TS : BSA operational requirements (stable draft) Test specifications CAM, DENM specifications (collaboration with STF experts) 6 Footer text (edit in View : Header and Footer)

7 Ongoing work -applications 1/2 WG1 has initiated the work since October 2010 The WI scope is defined based on Minimum Set of Applications and agreement of work split between ETSI and CEN All applications are from BSA Three WIs on safety applications (V2V based) TS : Co-operative Awareness application Cooperative awareness of the driving environment No collision risk TS : Intersection Collision Risk Warning Detection of collision risk with detection means and/or from received CAM/DENM Triggering of intersection collision risk warning message DENM TS : Longitudinal Collision Risk Warning Detection of collision risk by vehicles or by a third part (e.g. from road side) Triggering of longitudinal collision risk warning message DENM One WI on electric vehicle Points of Interest application TS: Electric Vehicle Charging Spot Notification Specification 7
