2 Introduction Synthetic Monitoring Professional Certification validates that you have knowledge of the Synthetic Monitoring infrastructure, data collection and analysis, and visualization concepts. This exam blueprint provides the content and context of the Synthetic Monitoring Professional Certification. Please review this blueprint in its entirety to gain a thorough understanding of exam expectations and requirements. Prerequisite Knowledge While knowledge of Synthetic Monitoring is required to achieve this certification, examinees must also have working knowledge in the following areas: Familiarity with: OSI Model and common network protocols Basic web site architecture Web page construction and DOM Web caching protocols Basic data analysis techniques Network analysis and HTTP response codes Exam Preparation Synthetic Monitoring Professional Certification is intended for individuals who have theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience with data analysis for Synthetic Monitoring. The combination of self-paced learning on Dynatrace University, self-study on the Dynatrace Community, and some basic hands-on experience will prepare you to achieve certification. 3 Exam Format You must pass both parts, written and practical, of the exam to obtain your Professional Certification. The Synthetic Monitoring Professional Written Certification exam has approximately 114 questions. You will be given 2 hours to complete the exam. The written portion of the Professional exam is 100% computer graded. The passing score is 70%. The Synthetic Monitoring Professional Practical Certification exam has 7 tasks that must be accomplished along with some multiple-choice questions. You will be given 3 hours to complete the exam. The practical portion of the Professional exam is graded by computer and manually. The passing score is 85%. As a reminder, you will receive an in advance of your scheduled exam with the following pre- exam preparation information. Please read this carefully and make your advance preparations accordingly. Before you begin the Practical exam: Scheduling Please have the Dynatrace Recorder downloaded, installed, and open. Have Firefox downloaded and available for use. You will need the ability to take screenshots to be uploaded to the exam (SnagIt, SnipIt or the MS Snipping tool or similar). Create a folder on your desktop to name and save your screenshots --.JPG or.png files are preferred. The proctor will supervise the deletion of this folder at the end of your exam after submission. Make sure you can log into the Portal using the username and password you were given in the . Confirm that you are able to get to this website using the Firefox browser: Certification exams are administered and proctored by Examity. Dynatrace has partnered with Examity, an online proctoring service, to protect the value of the certification. By utilizing an online proctor, there is no need to travel to a testing center. The exam can be taken on a computer, from almost any location. To schedule an exam, please log in to APMU and follow the certification icons. Once you have accepted the Dynatrace Certification Terms and Conditions, you can connect with Examity to schedule the exam. You must schedule the exam at least 24 hours in advance of the time in which you wish to take the exam.
