1 Frequently Asked Questions A detailed explanation of the JHA Get Smart program is available at How much does it cost to participate in the JHA Get Smart program? There is no cost to participate in this complimentary, optional education-based product certification program. Are the courses live or online and is there testing? All courses are online elearning courses. There is required testing with each course that must be passed with a minimum score of 80%. Initial Core and Complementary Certifications How long does the core certification take? Core certifications encompass three training modules loans, deposits, and miscellaneous and each module requires approximately 12 to 15 hours to complete. Program participants have until March 31 st each year to complete core certifications for discounting purposes. How long does each complementary certification take? Each complementary solution certification requires two to six hours to complete. Program participants have until March 31st to complete the complementary solution certifications for discounting purposes. Do core certifications have to be completed before beginning complementary certifications? No. Optional complementary solution certifications can be obtained concurrently with the core certification. Do courses have to be taken in a certain order within individual certifications? This varies. Some certifications require courses to be taken in a specific order. However, in all cases, quizzes immediately follow each course component. How many complementary solutions do we have to certify on? While core certification is required for program participation, complementary solution certifications are optional. However, the more complementary solution certifications completed, the more points accrued and the larger discount earned. Can my bank earn certifications on complementary solutions we do not own? Program participants can complete any complementary solution certifications but points will not be awarded for solutions banks have not purchased. Program points will be awarded for

2 certifications completed on complementary solutions that have been purchased but not implemented to-date. If I started but did not complete a certification by March 31st, did I lose my progress? No. The progress is preserved for all incomplete certifications, and a new version of the certification will be assigned on 4/1. Is there a way to opt-out of courses that do not apply to my bank? Yes. An exemption feature allows a bank to request an exemption for one of the following reasons: 1. Another user, not registered for certification training, has completed the training. 2. The bank has not purchased a product or module included in the certification. 3. The content does not apply to a specific core system or processing environment in-house vs. OutLink. All exemptions must be approved by JHA. Will I be able to tell what content does not apply to my core system or processing environment? Yes. Content that varies by core system or processing environment (in-house vs. OutLink) will be clearly denoted within the certification training. Program participants will be required to complete only applicable training modules. My bank did not participate in the JHA Get Smart program last year. Can we enroll in the program now? Yes. Banks can enroll in the program at any time but participants must complete the initial certification training as well as all re-certification training added in subsequent years. Can new program participants be added during the second year of the program? Yes. New individuals can be designated to earn product-specific certifications but they must complete the initial certification as well as all re-certification training added in subsequent years. Are the certifications one-time? No. Annual core and complementary solution re-certifications are required to qualify for ongoing annual discounts. Can we request exemptions for products our bank does not use? Exemptions may be requested for modules covering a product or portion of a product the bank does not own. However, if a module is covering standard functionality for a purchased product, it is not eligible for exemption.

3 What other reasons can we use to request Exemption? Exemption can be requested for 3 different reasons. 1) Get Smart course covering product not owned by institution. 2) Get Smart Course completed by another user outside certification (name of user must be provided). 3) Get Smart course not applicable to core product or processing type. Re-Certification Requirements What are the re-certification requirements? Initial certification requires program participants to complete all content and quizzes in the product-specific certification. Re-certification requires program participants to complete all release training content and quizzes, and all new content and quizzes added to the original certification. Do re-certifications require all of the content to be taken again? No. Program participants that have completed initial certifications will have renewal versions of the certification in their transcripts on April 1, 2016, which contains only the new content added. If no new content was added, program participants can complete re-certifications by completing the quizzes only. Will I have to register to begin re-certification? No. Program participants fully certified on a product will have renewal versions of the certification in their transcripts on April 1, Re-certifications can begin at any time but must be completed by March 31, How long does re-certification take? The time required for re-certification varies by product and by re-certification year. Initial certification requires program participants to complete all content and quizzes in the productspecific curriculum. Re-certification in subsequent years two and three requires program participants to complete all release training content and quizzes, and all new content and quizzes added to the original certification. Re-certification in year four requires program participants to complete all release training content and quizzes, all quizzes from the initial certification training, and all new content and quizzes added. In order to re-certify on core and complementary solutions is the same individual who earned the initial certification required to complete the re-certification training? Yes. In order to re-certify, the program participant must have completed the initial certification. Available Discounts

4 How are the program discounts calculated? Discounts are calculated based on program points accrued during the annual certification period which begins each April. The discount is applied to Core Maintenance or Processing fees only. If more bankers than the minimum number required based on asset size obtain certifications, can additional points and a larger discount be earned? No. Additional bank associates can earn core and complimentary solution certifications but additional points will not be awarded. Are OutLink banks with multi-year agreements excluded from receiving discounts under the Get Smart program? No. Only in-house banks with multi-year maintenance contracts with negotiated discounts are excluded from earning additional discounts with this program. How To How do we enroll in the certification program? If your bank has not participated in the past, the name and contact information for your training administrator to JHUAdmins@jackhenry.com. To register for a certification, search for Get Smart in Jack Henry University. Detailed instructions are included below. What is the responsibility of the training administrator? The training administrator will have access to usage and progress reports, and will have the ability to proxy enroll program participants for specific certifications. (NOTE: JHA Get Smart proxy enrollment is not done through regular proxy enrollment. Separate instructions will be provided to detail the enrollment process.) In addition to the bank s CEO and key contact, training administrators will also receive quarterly JHA Get Smart statements. How do we find and begin the certification training? Click in the Search field at the top right hand corner of the Jack Henry University home page, type Get Smart, and then press Enter.

5 Click on Certifications on the left-hand side of the screen below Training. All JHA Get Smart Certifications will be displayed. Click on the title of the certification you want to complete.

6 Click on Request. After clicking Request the certification will be placed in the Certification section of your transcript. Click Manage to start your certification. Please remember, the JHA Get Smart Certification is free of charge however, if you are not a Know- It-All NOW subscriber a price will be reflected for 24 hours after you register. After 24 hours the price will no longer be shown and you can begin your certification. To access your certification after you leave your transcript, click on the Certifications section within your transcript. How can we monitor certification progress? In addition to the standard Certification Detail Report, a Certification Summary Report and an Exemption Report are provided. Training administrators can view and print these reports.

7 How do I access the certification and exemption reports? Designated training administrators have two options under the Reports tab in Jack Henry University Standard Reports and Custom Reports. The Standard Reports tab provides access to the Certification Detail Report. The Custom Reports tab provides access to the Certification Summary Report and the Exemption Report. Detailed reporting instructions are sent to all training administrators.
