1 Certificate I in Information, Digital Media and Technology (ICT10115) The recommended Certificate I study plan has the following key features: The recommended study plan will take a new student maximum 3 months to complete this course full-time or part-time equivalent. This course provides basic digital literacy skills to support a wide range of varying industry occupations. There is a focus on using the personal computer, digital devices, internet and and Microsoft Office This qualification can be a pathway to Certificate II in Information, Digital Media and Technology, or a range of other qualifications Students will be able to obtain a number of Skill Sets without having to complete the whole certificate. 3 Descriptions 1UDD 1PPT Description This subject covers the skills required to operate a personal computer (PC) in a home or small office environment, including file management, sending and retrieving s, using the internet, using peripheral devices and applying basic security and power management settings. This subject covers the skills required to operate a word-processing application such as Microsoft Word 2013 and perform basic operations including saving and opening files, formatting text, creating tables, inserting images and printing. This subject covers the skills required to connect and search the internet using web browsers in a secure manner and use including creating and replying to messages, adding a signature, attaching files and searching and sorting s. This subject involves preparing, setting up and using a digital device such as a digital camera, smart phone, laptop, netbook, ipad, mp3. This subject covers the skills required to use a spreadsheet application such as Microsoft Excel 2013 to create spreadsheets, saving and opening files, entering basic formulae and functions, formatting, charts and printing. This subject covers the features and components of using personal productivity tools, such as using the calendar to schedule events and appointments, creating, editing and deleting contacts This subject covers the skills required to use a presentation application package such as Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 to perform basic tasks including creating a presentation, formatting, adding slide show effects such as animations and transitions, printing and adding notes. 3
