Simultaneously, the sensor provides per-lane presence as well as volume, occupancy, speed and classification information in up to 12 user-defined detection zones. Output information is provided to existing controllers via contact closure and to other computing systems by serial or TCP/IP communication port. A single radar can replace multiple inductive loop detectors. The Sx-300 s all-in-one concept combines a high resolution radar and a variety of communications options all in a single enclosure. This sleek cabinet free detection station is simple to integrate into any system whether urban signal control or highway traffic management. 5 Applications Mid-Block Detection Solution Event Warning Solution The mid-block detection solution communicates wirelessly with the intersection cabinet and provides the controller with accurate information to make precise decisions to keep traffic flowing. This solution provides accurate speed reporting to zero miles per hour with ease. The event warning solution works at the junctures between highways and urban streets to detect long queue spill-back at off-ramps, toll booths or select intersections. It can communicate with signal controllers to flush out queues, activate flashers to warn approaching drivers, or send an alert to the TOC. Work Zone Solution Contact Closure Solution The work zone solution is extremely flexible, quick to install and is easily configurable for temporary installations. It can communicate with signal controllers to flush out queues, activate flashers to warn approaching drivers, or communicate with a variable message sign. The contact closure solution is the perfect alternative to in-ground loop detectors.
6 AID Solutions All-in-One wrong way solutions for roadways Wrong Way Solution The Automatic Incident Detection (AID) Wrong Way module is an all-in-one system that provides reliable wrong way detection on highways. This module is a side-fire sensor that can detect multiple lanes using a single camera. The wrong way module detects wrong way vehicles and sends an automated message alert with an image snapshot via or short message service (SMS). The system also provides a 30 second video of the event, allowing traffic operators to visually confirm the wrong way vehicle and provide emergency officials the details of the vehicle. Drivers traveling the wrong way on a highway pose a serious safety risk and can result in injury or fatalities. The detection of these wrong way drivers is vital to reducing these risks. This module provides accurate detection and fast notification to help improve the safety performance of roadways.
