The prototype focuses on achieving multiple goals. Ports need to optimise their services in their supply chain, their routes via sea, road and rail, while at the same time providing a safe environment for everyone working or living in the harbour area. Increasing port efficiency leveraging and optimising existing infrastructure Reducing traffic related emissions, air pollution and greenhouse gases Establish an intelligent and secure infrastructure that can deliver multiple services at a reduced operational cost

14 Hamburg Port overview smartroad A demonstration of the technological capabilities for improving port management Traffic Management: To help monitor road traffic. Automated incident detection allowing coordination other authorities as required. Structural Sensors: Provide real time data on moveable infrastructure such as the Kattwyk Hub-Bridge. Environmental Sensors deliver environmental data to improve analysis of the environmental situation. Smart Sensors enhance the safety of pedestrians and cyclists in the port using Follow me lighting. Analytics & Prediction information from the pilot project enabling Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) to deliver an improved quality of life, work and natural environment in the port.

15 Cisco smartroad consortium Cisco led a consortium of partners including AGT, KiwiSecurity, Philips, T-Systems and Worldsensing to deliver an IOE prototype for ports bringing smart city solutions into the harbour. By deploying this smart port prototype we enabled the Internet of Everything by connecting people, data, processes and things in the port. The solutions deployed Traffic monitoring and management solutions for the roads in the port Barge and vessel management in the port itself Environmental and weather monitoring Structural health monitoring of bridges with real time visibility Smart lighting to improve energy efficiency and to increase safety and security

AGT s innovative platform CityMIND was deployed to manage: Day to day traffic flow and density Predictive infrastructure maintenance Through the use of IOT analytics Hamburg Port plans to double container traffic by 2025.

17 KiwiSecurity smartroad consortium KiwiSecurity is a leading developer of video analytics and video control solutions. KiwiSecurity transforms video surveillance into a proactive tool, which automates video surveillance by extracting key information. KiwiVision Privacy Protector technology has been applied to all camera streams - resolving the contradiction between data protection and video surveillance for the Port. KiwiVision Parking Space Analyzer checks and monitors parking spaces for parking duration, occupation and detection of vehicles parked in no-parking zones. The technology also allows container trucks to be tracked and monitored throughout the port to manage congestion and parking facilities.

18 Philips smartroad consortium Philips is a specialist in intelligent outdoor lighting applications. Philips implemented their CityTouch solution providing Hamburg Port Authority with detailed real-time insight into the status of the street lighting. Solutions include Light on demand: safety through more light for pedestrians and cyclists when needed. Light reacting to weather: less glare and irritation from light reflections, resulting in improved safety for all street users. Incidence Management: help for emergency teams and to alert other traffic. Reduction of energy consumption through industry leading LED technology and additional efficiency through intelligent dimming through CityTouch and SmartSense (up to 70% energy saving).

T-Systems smartroad consortium T Systems are the partner responsible for the technical integration and rollout of the IoT Infrastructure (sensors, video cameras, WiFi mesh network).

T Systems implemented the virtualized computing infrastructure, operations and incident management (service desk and support) during the pilot operation phase. They also managed the pre configuration of the components and the commissioning of the technical installations across the port including sensors, WiFi access points and cameras

Sophisticated sensors help detect and prevent risks in infrastructure by monitoring their operations and status in real time. At Hamburg Port Kattwyck Bridge is monitored in real time using Worldsensing s structural and environmental sensors installed on the bridge Weather and air quality stations deliver data relating to how traffic pollution and how weather affects the bridge The system is configured remotely, and all data is integrated, analyzed and available online through an intuitive visualization platform which includes asset management tools.

Active participation and interest from multiple areas of the port management: bridge management, road management, IT & privacy officers. One of the first uses of Low Power Wide Area (LORA) technology for wireless sensors. Implementation of video analytics with privacy protection technology. Deployment of structural monitoring on critical infrastructure. End to end secure ICT infrastructure: wireless mesh, secure video infrastructure and integrated management for wired, wireless and virtualized data center.
