2 Application Area Datalogic safety light curtain SG4-BODY BIG Muting is made for body detection with a range of up to 60 meters and especially for muting applications. SG4-BODY BIG Muting has a new robust housing with integrated advanced muting functions + extra features: Advanced muting functions Integrated muting lamp Muting enable signal Maintained or triggered Override Override restart selection (manual / automatic) Muting filter function Extra features anti-interference coding total absence of "dead zone" 7-segment displays alignement aid function Integrated muting lamp Under the top cap are DIP switches for configuration Configurations will be made by DIP switches and wiring, so no PC-programming required. By DIP switches can be also choosed muting time-out, muting-mode (cross-beam, 4-beam parallel or 2-beam parallel). On the top of receiver is a integrated muting lamp. Both Tx and Rx has a M12 connector for muting sensors. Additionally T and L muting arms can be choosed instead of external muting sensors. T and L muting arms are really easy to install to the light curtain and it is an ideal solution eg. for packing industry. New robust housing and new design of optical-electronic platform ensures the best performance. 3 different types of brackets (swivelling side, topbottom rotating and rear) complete the product and make it the ideal and most performing solution for all the industrial application. The safety light curtain is available as type 4, and maintains the highest safety level PL e according to the latest safety standards, EN ISO and EN SG4-BODY BIG Muting has integrated manual reset /automatic reset and input for monitoring of external contactors (EDM). The safety light curtain has two safe electronic short-circuit detection outputs (PNP). If potential free contacts are needed we can offer for example Datalogic safety relay CSME. Datalogic has a 3 year warranty for safety light curtains. 4 Muting functions With Datalogic SG-BODY BIG Muting You can use either external muting sensors or muting arms L or T. Both Receiver and Transmitter include an additional 5-pole M12 connector for muting sensors. Rx has 2 muting-inputs and power supply for muting-sensors. Tx has a power supply for through-beam muting sensors For this reason You can choose either retro-reflex or through-beam sensors. Also L and T muting arms are available in retro-reflex or through-beam versions. Cross-beam muting (X) For cross-beam muting only external sensors can be used. Basic function: Both muting inputs 1 and 2 need to be activated in time period of 0,01-4 s to achieve the muting. Muting is ON as long as beams A or B are both interrupted. Muting goes OFF when one or both beams are clear. Max muting time is 10 minutes but from DIP-switches it is possible to choose also infinity time. Note! State of Muting is signalled by Muting Lamp integrated on the top of receiver side. See more detailed instructions for speed, distance, positioning etc. from manual! 4-beam parallel muting (T) For T-muting can be used with either external sensors or T-muting arms. Basic function: Both muting inputs 1 and 2 need to be activated in time period of 0,01-4 s to achieve the muting. On 4-beam parallel muting (T) the 4 PNP inputs are connected according to below diagram, so the sequence must be B2-A2-B1-A1 or vice versa. Muting is ON when muting inputs 1 and 2 are both actived. Muting goes OFF as soon as muting input 1 or 2 will not get +24 VDC from sensors. Max muting time is 10 minutes but from DIP-switches it is possible to choose also infinity time. Note! State of Muting is signalled by Muting Lamp integrated on the top of receiver side. 5 For L-muting can used with either external sensors or L-muting arms. Basic function: Both muting inputs 1 and 2 need to be activated in time period of 0,01-4 s to achieve the muting. Muting is ON when beams A and B are both interrupted BUT after when beam A is clear there is still muting time of 0,132-8 s. This "Exit" time is related to speed of conveyor. The light curtain calculate the speed between beams A and B and the it give enough time for pallet to exit from danger zone. Max muting time is 10 minutes (when A and B are interrupted) but from DIP-switches it is possible to choose also infinity time. L-Muting can be used only in application where pallet comes out from the danger zone. Note! State of Muting is signalled by Muting Lamp integrated on the top of receiver side. Override function This function allows to force a Muting condition when machine reset is necessary, even if one or more beams are interrupted by passing material. The purpose is to clear the protected area of any material accumulated consequently to a failure in the working cycle. For example, if a pallet stops in front of the protected area, the conveyor may not restart as the ESPE (that has one or more interrupted beams) opens the OSSD outputs and will not permit the controlled area clearance. The activation of the Override function makes permits this operation. Activation of the Override function Two input lines are provided for the override function, OVR1 and OVR2, that must be connected to +24 Vdc and to 0 Vdc respectively by means of two normal open contacts. Standard requires the use of spring return hold-to-run devices or secure momentary action pushbuttons, located so that it will not possible to enter the hazardous zone whilst maintaining the action on devices. Override function can be actuated closing both contacts: whatever contact can be activated first. The maximum out-of-sync interval time allowed is 400 ms, while the minimum one is 0 ms. While override is actuated, the integrated lamp will be blinking. Override function will automatically terminate when one of the following condition will be given: - all the muting sensors are de-actuated (*); - the pre-determined time limit has expired; - the requirements for actuation are not met any more (at least one override input line is deactivated). (*) This is true for light curtains configured as T Muting. For light curtains configured as L Muting, override will terminate when muting sensors are de-actuated AND the light curtain s beams are free. + Keep the button pressed until the clearance of the protected area has been completed. + The maximum length of the Override function is 120 sec. After that time, the ESPE returns to normal functioning, even if the OVERRIDE button is pressed. Obviously, if the button is released within the 120 seconds, the Override function stops immediately. + When override is de-actuated, the light curtain will return into the normal operation. Note! SG-BODY BIG Muting has following advanced Override functions: Maintained or triggered Override. When maintained override is selected the override button must be pressed as long as muting-zone is free. When triggered override is selected only pushing (and releasing) the override button is required and override remains automatically until the muting zone is free.
