2 The SLC/SLG 415 system: Safety light curtains and grids with integrated muting function EN /-2 The muting principle If goods or objects are to be transported into a hazardous area without stopping the machine, the safety light curtain must be bridged with a time control. In doing this, two (or four) muting sensors must detect whether a person is approaching the hazardous area or a transport system enters or leaves the danger area. The SLC 415 system with integrated muting function was developed especially for these applications. Control Category 4 to EN , -2. No more supplementary safety monitoring modules required. The muting sensors can be connected simply and directly to the safety light curtain/grid. 2

3 The SLC/SLG 415 system is available in 3 different variants. SLC/SLG 415I Integrated muting function. 2 or 4 muting sensors can be directly connected to the safety light curtain/grid. SLG 415T The muting function as well as the muting sensors are integrated. The muting sensors can be perfectly adapted to the application. The muting function is possible from both sides. System with integrated muting function SLG 415L The muting function as well as the muting sensors are integrated The muting sensors can be perfectly adapted to the application. Because of its special design, this system is suitable for installation at the exit of hazardous areas. 3

4 Equipment types Safety light curtains and with integrate SLC/SLG 415I The SLC/SLG 415I can be used for multiple applications. The muting sensors can be positioned in a flexible way, to obtain safe triggering of the muting function for different objects. Features Reduced mounting costs because of the integrated muting function The range of 0 16 m enables the passage of larger objects as well. As muting sensors, 2 or 4 sensors of any kind (proximity switches, optical or capacitive switches, etc.) can be connected. This system is available in the following versions: As safety light curtain with resolution 30 mm (protected height from 310 mm to 1210 mm) 40 mm (protected height from 310 mm to 1810 mm) 90 mm (protected height from 310 mm to 1810 mm) As safety light grid with light beam distance 500 mm (2-beam) 400 mm (3-beam) 300 mm (4-beam) Areas of use All machines with automatic material feeding, where the same passage is used for the material input and output. Simple mounting and positioning of the muting sensors facilitate the installation of this system at the entries and exits of hazardous areas. SLG 415L The SLG 415L can be installed at the exit of hazardous areas. The prepared muting sensors are arranged in such a way that no further sensor is required outside of the light grid.
