The numer of terminls vries with the type of IFM from one to four terminls per I/O point. Stndrd terminl IFMs provide one field-side wiring terminl per progrmmle ontroller input or output point, s well s enough terminls for the I/O module power onnetions. The stndrd terminls re idel for pplitions where the I/O devie ommons re terminted in the field or remotely from the I/O pnel. Extr terminl IFMs provide two or four field-side terminls per input or output point. Non-isolted IFMs hve two terminls per input or output point. Isolted IFMs hve two or four terminls per input or output. Isolted IFMs hve terminls isolted into 8 or 16 groups, whih llows eh group of I/O devies to referene different power soure. When used in onjuntion with the logi-side progrmmle ontroller LEDs, the IFM LEDs n help determine whether prolem resides in the I/O module or in the field devie/wiring.
