4 ETALON SWITCHGEAR DESIGN The inner space of switching panel is compartmented as follows: low-voltage compartment high-voltage compartment busbars compartment cable compartment 1 operator control panel (human-machine interface) 2 controls 3 interlock operating shaft 4 three-position selector 5 integrated voltage and current sensor 6 cable connection points 7 sealed cable entries 8 protection and control relay 9 busbars Low-voltage compartment The low-voltage compartment allows the installation of a multi-functional microprocessor protection relay that incorporates RTU and a human-machine interface. Besides, on the upper enclosure of the panel there are terminals connecting the panel with auxiliary power supply. The interconnection between feeders is wireless. High-voltage compartment High-voltage compartment houses: fully interlocked VCB three-position selector (to connect VCB to busbars, earthing plate or to isolate VCB) integrated voltage and current sensors shutter between high-voltage and busbars compartments arc-fault sensor 4

5 Busbars compartment The busbar compartment houses the main busbar system connected to the moving contacts of the three-position selector by means of branch connections. The main busbars are tubular and made of electrolytic copper. The busbar compartment of each panel is segregated from the busbar compartments of the neighbouring panels. Cable compartment Cable compartment houses cable connection points surge arresters (optional) sealed cable entries APPLICATIONS Etalon switchgear can be equally and successfully used for the primary and secondary distribution as well as for utility and industrial applications.
