7 1 Hardware Features Overview Features Hardware 1U Chassis Electrical The StorTrends 1108 is a 1U chassis with eight hot swappable drive bays that can be used as a NAS or JBOD (Just a Bunch of Disks) solution. The StorTrends 1108-N has built-in intelligence that is rarely found in such an offering. The StorTrends 1108-N offers hot swappable redundant power supplies, cooling fans (series 905), AMI s Indium embedded motherboard and custom-designed NAS software. The chassis includes two AMI backplanes (series 904) with four single channel Ultra160 (Ultra320 ready) slots each and IPMI support. AMI s Indium server appliance motherboard provides a scalable, high-performance platform that addresses many applications, including NAS, web servers and other embedded environments. AMI s custom-designed NAS software resides on a network-upgradeable flash memory device, leaving all hard drives 100 percent available for user data. AMI s Ultra160 and Ultra320 ready backplanes offer Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) v0.9 and v1.0 support.
