6 System Description MOVI-SWITCH on fieldbus and power bus System Description.1 MOVI-SWITCH on fieldbus and power bus MOVI-SWITCH MOVI-SWITCH is a compact and heavy-duty gearmotor for power ratings up to 3 kw with integrated switching and protection functions. Versions are available with an electronic star bridge connector for one direction of rotation, or with a reversing starter with contact. If the drive is permanently connected to the power supply, it is switched on/off using DC 4 V control signals. Usually, the control transfers these signals to decentralized I/O components via fieldbus communication. A thermal winding monitoring function with evaluation and brake management is integrated into the drive unit so that the number of required I/O points is kept to a minimum. MF.. fieldbus interfaces SEW-EURODRIVE fieldbus interfaces support communication via all commercial fieldbus systems: PROFIBUS, InterBus, CANopen, DeviceNet and AS-interface are available. The fieldbus interfaces are based on a module terminal box with connecting terminals and a plug-in fieldbus module. These interfaces can be installed directly onto MOVI- SWITCH or they can be mounted separately. The MOVI-SWITCH gearmotors are connected to the bus using terminals; additional sensors or actuators can be connected to the bus either using terminals or plug connectors, depending on the version. MF../Z.3W, MF../Z6W.. field distributors MF../Z.3W and MF../Z6W.. field distributors have been specifically designed for connecting MOVI-SWITCH and provide an efficient means of connecting the drives to the supply system, the DC 4 V control voltage and the fieldbus. The units are based on bus interface technology with additional connection technology for power distribution. The field distributor is installed close to the motor, which facilitates decentralized installation. SEW-EURODRIVE offers suitable hybrid cables to complete the system. The hybrid cable combines control signal and power supply connections in a single cable sheath to connect MOVI-SWITCH units to field distributors. It is supplied as a prefabricated cable with a plug-in connection. 6 Manual Fieldbus Interfaces/Field Distributors for Controlling MOVI-SWITCH

26 8 Electrical Installation Installation planning taking EMC aspects into account 8 Electrical Installation 8.1 Installation planning taking EMC aspects into account Notes on arranging and routing installation components The successful installation of decentralized drives is dependent on selecting the right cables, providing correct grounding and a functional equipotential bonding. The relevant standards must be applied in all cases. Pay particular attention to the following points: Equipotential bonding In addition to the functional ground (protective conductor connection), low-impedance HF-capable equipotential bonding must be provided (see also VDE 0113 or VDE 0100 part 540); for example with Flat contact surface connection of metal (system) components Use of flat grounding strips (HF litz wire) 03643AXX Do not use the cable shield of data lines for equipotential bonding Data lines and 4 V supply These lines must be routed separately from cables that are subject to interference (for example, control cables for solenoid valves or motor cables) Field distributor We recommend using prefabricated SEW hybrid cables especially designed for connecting field distributors and motors AXX Cable glands Select a cable gland with large contact surface shield (consult the notes on selection and appropriate assembly of cable glands). Cable shield Must have good EMC characteristics (high shield attenuation) Should not serve only as a means of mechanical protection for the cable Must be connected to the metal housing of the unit (using EMC metal cable glands) with the flat cable ends (consult the notes on selection and appropriate installation of cable glands). Additional information is available in the SEW publication "Drive Engineering Practical Implementation; Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) in Drive Engineering". 6 Manual Fieldbus Interfaces/Field Distributors for Controlling MOVI-SWITCH

29 Electrical Installation Installation instructions for fieldbus interfaces, field distributors 8 Installation at 1000 meters above sea level (msl) or higher MOVI-SWITCH drives with supply voltages of 380 to 500 V can be used at altitudes from 1000 msl to 4000 msl 1) on the following conditions. The rated continuous power is reduced based on the reduced cooling above 1000 m (see "MOVI-SWITCH " operating instructions). Above 000 msl, the air and creeping distances are only sufficient for overvoltage class. If the installation requires overvoltage class 3, you will have to install additional external overvoltage protection in order to limit overvoltage peaks to.5 kv phase-to-phase and phase-to-ground. If safe electrical separation is required, it must be implemented outside the unit at altitudes above 000 msl ("Safe Electrical Separation" according to EN 50178). The permitted rated supply voltage of 3 x 500 V up to 000 msl is reduced by 6 V for every 100 m, to a maximum of 3 x 380 V at 4000 msl. Protection devices MOVI-SWITCH drives are equipped with integrated protection devices to prevent motor overloading, thus making external motor overload devices obsolete. When mounting the MOVI-SWITCH control unit close to the motor, it is imperative that you observe the applicable regulations concerning line protection. Protect the cable between the MOVI-SWITCH control unit and the motor by using suitable dimensioning or optional line protection components. UL compliant installation of field distributors Use only copper cables with the temperature range 60/75 C as connection cabling. The permitted tightening torques for the MOVI-SWITCH power terminals are 1.5 Nm (13.3 lb.in). MOVI-SWITCH units are designed for operation on voltage supply systems with a grounded star point (TN and TT systems), that supply a maximum current of AC 5000 A and with a maximum rated voltage of AC 500 V. To ensure UL compliant installation, the performance data for fuses installed in MOVI-SWITCH units should not exceed 5 A/600 V. Only use tested units with a limited output voltage (V max = DC 30 V) and limited output current (I Â 8 A) as external DC 4 V voltage source. UL certification only applies to operation on voltage supply systems with voltages to ground up to a maximum of 300 V. 1) The maximum altitude is limited by creeping distances and flameproof components, such as electrolytic capacitors. 40 10 Connection with InterBus Connection of InterBus with copper line 10 Connection with InterBus 10.1 Connection of InterBus with copper line Types of InterBus connection The MFI fieldbus interfaces can be operated on both the remote bus and the installation remote bus. The main distinguishing feature between these types of interfaces is the structure of the bus cable. Standard remote bus cables consist of -core cables twisted together in three pairs for data transmission. In the installation remote bus, the wires for transmitting data may be compounded with the power supply for the MFI and the active sensors. Remote bus connection A 9-pin sub D connector is usually used for a remote bus connection for IP0 units. The following wiring examples show how MFIs are connected to units at the input or output end using 9-pin sub D connectors. 72 16 I 0 Startup with PROFIBUS Startup procedure 16 Startup with PROFIBUS 16.1 Startup procedure We recommend turning off the DC 4 V voltage supply before removing or replacing the bus module (MFP). The bus connection of the incoming and outgoing PROFIBUS is integrated in the connection module, which means that the PROFIBUS can be operated even when the module electronics have been disconnected. 1. Verify that MOVI-SWITCH and the PROFIBUS connection module (MFZ1, MFZ3W, MFZ6W..) are connected correctly.. Set the PROFIBUS address on the MFP (factory setting: address 4). Use DIP switches 1 to 7 to set the PROFIBUS address. 8 [] x 0 = 0 5 x 0 = 0 4 x 1 = 16 [1] Example: address 17 [] Switch 8 = reserved x 0 = 0 x 0 = 0 1 x 0 = 0 [1] Address 0 to 15: Address 16: Address 17: valid address is not supported Broadcast ON 1 0 x 1 = AXX In the following table, address 17 is used to show how to determine the DIP switch settings for any bus address. 73 Startup with PROFIBUS Startup procedure I Switch on the bus terminating resistors on the MFP fieldbus interface at the last bus station. If the MFP is located at the end of a PROFIBUS segment, it is only connected to the PROFIBUS network via the incoming PROFIBUS cable (terminals 1/). To prevent malfunctions in the bus system due to reflections and so on, the PROFIBUS segment must be terminated using bus terminating resistors at the first and last physical stations. The bus terminating resistors are already implemented on the MFP and can be activated using two DIP switches (see following diagram). Bus termination is implemented for cable type A to EN (volume ). Bus termination ON = on Bus termination OFF = off Factory setting ON 9 ON AXX 05073AXX Observe the following points when using field distributors with AF connection technology: In contrast to the standard design, the switchable bus terminator in the MFP.. module may no longer be used if AF is used. Use a plug-in bus terminator (M1) in the last station instead of the outgoing X1 bus connection (also refer to page 38). 4. Attach and secure the MOVI-SWITCH connection box cover and MFP housing cover. 5. Switch on the supply voltage (DC 4 V) for the MFP PROFIBUS interface and MOVI- SWITCH. The green "RUN" LED on the MFP should now light up and the red "SYS-F" LED should go out, if configured correctly (0PD + DI/DO). 6. Start project planning for MFP PROFIBUS interface in the DP master. For a detailed functional description of the PROFIBUS interfaces, refer to the "PROFIBUS Interfaces and Field Distributors" manual. Manual Fieldbus Interfaces/Field Distributors for Controlling MOVI-SWITCH 73

74 16 I 0 Startup with PROFIBUS Configuration (project planning) of PROFIBUS master 16. Configuration (project planning) of PROFIBUS master "GSD files" for configuring the DP master are provided. These files are copied into special directories and updated in the project planning software. Refer to the relevant project planning software manuals for details on the procedure. The latest version of GSD files is always available on the internet at the following address: Project planning for the MFP PROFIBUS-DP interface: Install the GSD file "SEW_6001.GSD" (starting with version 1.5) according to the instructions in the project planning software for the DP master. After successful installation, the "MFP/MQP + MOVIMOT" unit appears in the list of slave stations. Add the fieldbus interface module under the name "MFP/MQP + MOVIMOT" into the PROFIBUS structure and assign the PROFIBUS address. For controlling MOVI-SWITCH, select the process data configuration "0PD+DI/DO" (see section "Function of the MFP PROFIBUS" interface in the "PROFIBUS Interfaces and Field Distributors" manual). Enter the I/O or periphery addresses for the configured data widths. Save the configuration. Expand your application program to include the data exchange with the MFP. Process data transfer is not consistent. Do not use SFC14 and SFC15 to transfer process data; they are only required for the parameter channel. After the project has been saved, loaded in the DP master and the DP master has started, the "Bus-F" LED should go out on the MFP. If this is not the case, check the PROFIBUS wiring, terminating resistors and the configuration; especially the PROFIBUS address. 74 Manual Fieldbus Interfaces/Field Distributors for Controlling MOVI-SWITCH

75 Startup with MFI.. InterBus Interface (Copper Line) Startup procedure I Startup with MFI.. InterBus Interface (Copper Line) 17.1 Startup procedure We recommend turning off the DC 4 V voltage supply before removing or replacing the housing cover (MFI). Removal of the housing cover interrupts the ring structure of the InterBus. This means that the entire bus system is no longer operational. 1. Verify that the MOVI-SWITCH and InterBus connection module (MFZ11, MFZ13W) are correctly connected.. Set the MFI DIP switches (see "Setting DIP switches" on page 76). 3. Attach and secure the MOVI-SWITCH connection box cover and MFI housing cover. 4. Turn on the supply voltage (DC 4 V) for the MFI InterBus interface and MOVI- SWITCH. The "UL" and "RD" LEDs on the MFI should now light up and the red "SYS-FAULT" LED should go out if configured correctly (0PD + DI/DO). 5. Configure MFI InterBus interface in the InterBus master (see "Configuration of the InterBus Master (project planning)" on page 77). For a detailed functional description of InterBus interfaces, refer to the "InterBus Interfaces and Field Distributors" manual. The process data width is always set using DIP switches 1 and. For controlling MOVI-SWITCH, always select 0PD + DI/DO. The NEXT/END switch signals to the MFI whether another InterBus module follows. It is therefore necessary to set the switch to the "NEXT" position when a continuing remote bus is connected to terminals 6 to 10. This switch must be set to the "END" position if the MFI is the last module on the InterBus. All reserved switches must be in OFF position. Otherwise, the InterBus protocol chip will not be initialized. The MFI reports the ID code "MP_Not_Ready" (ID code 78 hex ). In this case, the InterBus masters signal an initialization fault. 83 Startup with DeviceNet Configuration (project planning) for DeviceNet master I Configuration (project planning) for DeviceNet master Configuring (project planning) the MFD DeviceNet interface You will need the corresponding "EDS files" for configuring the DeviceNet master. The most current version of the "EDS files" is available on the internet at The files are installed using the configuration software (RSNetWorx). The exact installation procedure is described in the manuals of the corresponding configuration software. 1. Install the EDS file using the project planning software (RSNetWorx). The slave station can then be found in the "SEW- Eurodrive Profile" folder under one of the following names: SEW-MOVIMOT-MFDx SEW-MOVIMOT-MFD3x SEW Gateway MQDx SEW Gateway MQD3x. Create a new project or open an existing project and load all network components by clicking "Start Online Build". 3. To configure the MFD interface, doubleclick the icon. You can then read the parameters of the component. 4. To access the interface via the controller, a memory area for data exchange must be provided for the MFD. One way of doing this is using RSNetWorx, for example. Refer to the documentation accompanying your configuration software for detailed information. 5. Set the process data length and the I/Os using the configuration software. For controlling MOVI-SWITCH, select the process data configuration "0PD + I/O" AXX After downloading the configuration into the DeviceNet scanner (master), the green Mod/Net LED on the MFD indicates that a connection to the master has been established. The PIO and BIO LED indicate that the relevant process data connections have been established. Manual Fieldbus Interfaces/Field Distributors for Controlling MOVI-SWITCH 83
