3 1. INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION (See Scheme SCE1702) The apparatus, as described in the attached catalogue Z07, is constituted of the following components: 1. Recloser NOVA N 3 Voltage Transformers TV1 TV2 TV3 3. Control Panel MS-NOVA 27-E 4. Shielded Cable X1, headed with a 19 pin connector at each end, connecting the Recloser and the Control Panel 5. Shielded Cable X1 connecting the PTs and the Control Panel; this cable is headed with a 7 pin connector on the Control Panel side and with numerated cables for the connection to the PTs. 1.1 Recloser (See Fig.1) Check that the position indicator of the apparatus shows the open position: green flag with written OPEN. Move the manual opening handle in the lock-out position OPEN by pulling it down. Lift the recloser by hooking it at all the four lifting lugs; place and bolt the recloser on the bracket provided on the pole and then connect incoming phases the R S T of the line on the upper bushing terminals of the Right pole (R), of the Central pole (S) and of the Left pole (T) respectively (from right to left looking the recloser form the side of the manual opening handle). The outgoing phases R S T, must be connected on the lower bushing terminals (middle of the pole) of the Right (R), of the Central (S) and of the Left (T) pole respectively. The recloser case must be connected to the Earth of the plant by the bolt indicated as. Then insert the female connector of the cable X1 in the recloser receptacle paying attention to the insertion key, screw up to the end the fastening ring and tighten it by hands. The cable X1 must be then taken to the Control Panel fixing it properly at the pole; any excess of the lenght (10 mt) can be winded with turns of a diameter not smaller than 25 cm. 4 1.2 Voltage Transformers (Fig.2) The three Voltage Transformers TV1, TV2, TV3 must be mounted on the bracket provided on the pole and then connected to the phases R S T respectively upstream (incoming side of the line) the recloser. The earthing bolts provided on the base of each PT must be connected to the Earth of the plant. The cable X2 must then be connected at the secondaries of the PTs as herebelow shown. The cable is constituted of N 6 insulated conductors (numbered from 1 to 6) and of the shield which must be connected to the Earth of the plant. The PTs have two secondary windings [ a-n = (100: 3)V e da-dn = (100:3)V ] which must be respesctively WYE and OPEN-DELTA connected. The 100: 3V windings star point terminals n must be connected toghether and to the Earth of the plant. Only one of the terminals dn of the windings (100:3)V OPEN-DELTA connected must be connected to the Earth of the plant. Terminals Blocks TV1 Shield Fig. 2 The cable X2 must be then taken to the Control Panel fixing it properly at the pole; then insert the female connector of the cable X2 in the Control Panel receptacle. Warning! The connections, both at the primary and at the secondary, must strictly follow the above indications and phase sequences and polarities must be absolutely respcted. 1.3 Control Panel (See D48056/1) The Control Panel is provided with a mounting bracket to be fixed to the pole using metal bands. Fix the Panel at the reuqested heigth with the cables receptacles side down. Then insert the female connectors of the cables X1 amd X2 in the Control Panel receptacles paying attention to the insertion keys, screw up to the end the fastening rings and tighten them by hands. Connect the metallic mounting bracket to the Earth of the plant by the earthing bolt provided on the bottom side of the panel. Copyright Microener Pag 4 of 11

OPERATION Once the apparatus is connected as described in 1, you can proceed withthe commisioning. 2.1 Recloser (See Fig.1) Check that the recloser is open with the manual opening handle pulled down in the lock-out position. To eneble the closing command the manual opening handle must be pulled up in the normal operating position. You can at any time open mecanically the recloser by pulling down the yellow manual opening handle with a hook. When the the manual opening handle is in the lock-out position the electrical closing command is disabled. The handle only allows the manual opening, whereas the closing operation always require an electrical command through the Control Panel batteries. 2.2 Control Panel (See D48056/2) Once the apparatus is connected as described in 1, open the fron door of the panel with the supplied triangular key. - Check the status of the apparatuses inside the panel. - Close the fuse sectionalizer F5 which feeds the heating resistances (via a thermostatic control). - Close the batteries fuse sectionalizer F4: the Protection Relay and the Control Module will lit on (see ). - Close the fuse sectionalizers F1, F2, F3 of the feeding cominig from the PTs; if the HV line is present, the yellow led Vca and green led Vcc on the box of the Power supply-battery charger will lit on. 6 2.2.1 Control Module The with drawable Control Module has the following functions: - Stabilized Power Supply 24V-1A to the Periferic Unit through a dc/dc converter. - Sending to the UP the following signalizations: Automatic Control Enabled/Disabled Recloser Open Recloser Closed Remote control operation mode Local control operation mode - Receving from the UP the following remote commands: Enable/Disable Automatic Control Open Recloser Close Recloser - Commands and signalizations Double position Switch to Enable/Disable the Automatic Control through the Protection Relay. When in ESCLUDE (DISABLE) position the recloser can be operated only via Local or Remote Commmand. Two leds are for signalization: o o Red = Disabled, Green = Enabled Double position Switch with spring return to reset positon for the Local OPEN/CLOSE Command. This Command is active only when Local Control is enabled trohugh the below describrd switch. Two leds are for signalization: o o Red = Closed, Green = Open Double position Switch to Enable the Local or Remote control operation mode. When in the Local position is enabled the Local OPEN/CLOSE Command through the relative switch and the Remote OPEN/CLOSE Command via UP is disabled; viceversa when in the Remote position. N.B. When INCLUSO (ENABLED) the Automatic OPEN/CLOSE Command via the protection Relay always operate. Copyright Microener Pag 6 of 11

7 Protection and Reclosure Relay IM30-DREn (see Operational Manual MO-0206-ITA) The two setting programs available CONFIG. A and CONFIG. B are configurated with the default parameters herebeow listed. All the settings can anyway be changed within the allowed ranges via the frontal keyboard or through the serial communication line via a PC using the Relay Interfacing Softawre MSCom-Lite Before setting the relay read carefully the Operational Manual MO-0206-ITA. The last step shows on the display the realy type IM30-DREn. The the relays starts the normal operation and shows the Date, the time and the measurements with cyclic scan time of about 3s; to stop the reading on a particular measure, just press the ENTER yellow button; to restart it press again the ENTER yellow button. 8 Controls and Measurements Five key buttons allow for local management of all relay's functions. A 8-digit high brightness alphanumerical display shows the relevant readings (xxxxxxxx) (see Operation Manual MO-0129-ITA). If not in Program mode and the relay has tripped, this button resets the relay and all output contacts. If not tripped, this button restores the default display. MODE SELECT + PROG. ENTER/RESET - The + and - buttons are used to select the actual measurement or display desired when in Measurements Display or Settings Display modes. When in Program mode, these buttons increase or decrease the value of the displayed setting. When in Program mode, and when all input currents are zero, pressing this recessed button places the relay into active programming mode, allowing any or all of the relay s settings to be altered. 9 Signalization and Reset after tripping After each trip of time delayed protection functions, the signalization leds lit-on (I>, Io). To reset the signalization, press yellow button ENTER/RESET. The led reset automatically after Circuit Breaker closing Autodiagnostic Dynamic functional test run during normal operation every 15 min. (relay's operation is suspended for less than 4 ms). If any internal fault is detected, the display shows a fault message, the Led "PROG/IRF" illuminates and the relay R5 is deenergized (see operation manual MO-0206-ING) Recordings The relay records several informations which can be read directly on the Display or via serial communication. On the Display can be read: Last Trip MaxVal : Display of the function which caused the tripping of the relay plus values of the parameters at the moment of tripping. The last 10 events are recorded. : Highest values recorded starting from 100ms after closing of main Circuit Breaker plus inrush values recorded within the first 100ms from Breaker closing, (refreshed any time the breaker closes). Via serial communication: All the data available on the Display: Signalizations and ouputs status Zero sequence voltage and current Oscillographic Recordings. Serial communication port is RS485 with ModBus RTU protocol; RS485/232 converter available on request. For Data access via serial communication application software MSCom Lite is required (See IM30-DREn Operation Manual MO-0206-ING). 2.3 Battery Charger The apparatus is feeded with a three-phase voltage (100V phase-to-phase) from the PTs whyconnected secondary windings and has a DC Voltage output limited at 54V and a DC Current output limited at 2.5 A. Voltage and current are automatically regulated in order to supply the optimal charging current to the battery. The apparatus contains two relays: - One for input power supply Vca failure signalizations. - One disconnects the loads from the battery (in case the battery voltage drops below 43V) to prevent the complete discharge. 10 2.4 Field connections The connections towards the field are made by watertight plug-in connectors: - X1 : 19 poles terminals to the Recloser - X2 : 7 pole terminal to the C.Ts. All inputs and outputs are protected against overvoltage (see SCE1702) with varistors and capacitors. For this reason it is not possible to perform the dielectric test on a complete apparatus appling a voltage higher than the varistors discharge voltage. 3.
