1 Installation of the cable for the contactor checkback signal Supplement/description Description A cable for the contactor checkback signal is used to monitor pre-charging and bypass contactors mainly in parallel-connected infeeds and to monitor a DC switch in the case of a Motor Module. The description applies to the accessory cable with the order number 6SL3366-4DU00-0AA0 (A5E ) Notice For all work on the devices, you must observe the ESD regulations. DANGER Due to the DC link capacitors, dangerously high voltage levels are still present in the device up to 5 minutes after it has been disconnected. For this reason, the cabinet should not be opened until a reasonable period of time has elapsed. Installing the cable 1. Loosen the screws for the Control Interface Module (see Fig. 1). 2. Pull the Control Interface Module out slightly to access the -X273 connector (see Fig. 2). When pulling it out, be sure not to kink the cables. 3. Attach the cable for the contactor checkback signal to the -X273 connector of the Control Interface Module (see Fig. 3). 4. Insert the Control Interface Module and fasten it with screws. 5. Route the cable along the existing cable harness to terminal- X9 and then down and out of the device (see Fig. 4). 6. Connect the cable to the terminal block. The name should be -X91; the individual terminals should be assigned as follows:: Basic Line Module - X91:1 - Line contactor checkback signal - X91:2 - Ground - X91:3 - free Smart Line Module / Active Line Module -X91:1 - Checkback signal from pre-charging contactor -X91:2 - Ground -X91:3 - By pass contactor checkback signal Motor Module: -X91:1 - free -X91:2 - Ground -X91:3 - DC switch checkback signal Siemens AG 2011 Page 1 of 9 Article No.: A5E A

NOTE For parallel connections of Basic Line Modules with only one common circuit breaker (or line contactor), the feedback signal of the circuit-breaker or line contactor must be connected to the monitoring input (X91/1) of all connected power units. Use the auxiliary contacts (e.g. 13/14) on the external bypass contactor. The selected monitoring time (p0255[1]) should not be longer than the bounce time of DC switch (p0868). Otherwise, the pre-charging resistors in the DC switch could be overloaded. 9 Test points after installation To maintain the warranty claims for the converted power unit after installation of the contactor checkback signaling relay, the following points must be checked and included in the test report for the control cabinet: Order number Serial number Check item Completion memo Tester Date Cable has been routed according to specification. High-voltage test successful (caution semiconductor inputs!). 1 Signal lines routed in accordance with standard for safe isolation (EN ). 2 Functional check of the contactor checkback signal successful. 1 The cable should be included in the high-voltage test of the cabinet. 2 This means that the cable must be routed separately from power cables.
