16 Key points Thailand: Disaster Profile Thailand is exposed to a variety of hazards, but the ones affecting the most amount of people are drought and floods Although seasonal flooding occurs every year, some years are far worse than others.

20 From Plan to practice DDPM as the central government agency responsible for disaster management in Thailand NDPM Plan 2015 provided guideline and organization structure as well as roles and responsibility On January 5 th 2017, the Minister of Interior decided to raise the level of emergency and incident management to level 3 (Large scale disaster). Activation of the National Disaster Command Centre; where the Minister of Interior is appointed as the Incident Commander, is established at DDPM Headquarter. Set up a front line Emergency Operation and Coordination Centre in Surat Thani Province within DDPM regional office.
