2 Synergies in the management of implementation of national and regional sustainable development agreements The Caribbean Development Cooperation Committee (CDCC) at its Twenty seventh session (April 2018) reaffirmed its commitment to fully operationalise the Regional Coordinating Mechanisms (RCM) in the Caribbean. One of the purpose of the RCM is to monitor and support integration in the implementation of the SAMOA Pathway and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The CDCC called upon member States to designate a national entity as the focal point for the RCM. Further, the CDCC noted the importance of integrated reporting responsibilities as the Caribbean strives to maintain its international commitments. Towards this end, members requested the secretariat of ECLAC, in collaboration with the relevant agencies of the UN system and CARICOM, to provide the institutional support to facilitate synergy in the implementation of the SIDS and 2030 agendas ECLAC stand ready to work with the OHRLLS and DESA on forging agenda in the strengthening of the NFP. This partnership will also lend for the fulfilment of the CDCC mandates on the RCM
3 CARIBBEAN SIDS Regional Coordination Mechanism Organisational Structure (bottom up; top down; lateral) INTERGOVERNMENTAL COUNCIL (IGC (Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CDCC)) Provides oversight of the work programme of the RCM (Secretariat) REGIONAL COORDINATING MECHANISM (RCM) TECHNICAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE (TAC) Comprises 15 members: (Countries, Intergov. Institutions, development partners, CDB, Civil Society (regional), University, others.. 9 NATIONAL FOCAL POINT MECHANISM This is the institution that forms the point of contact between the IGC (CDCC) and the TAC
4 NFP Services selected Coordination Network, thematic, high level meetings, capacity building SIDS and SDG monitoring Description ALL SIDS, SDG, other related sustainable development activities Identification, preparation, follow-up, new and emerging subjects, adjust to changes in national priorities, working with Private sectors, CSO etc. Implementation Political and other Policy support Monitoring and reporting Communication, Awareness and Information Project full cycle management Extra budgetary- how - Linkages with national, regional and international agreements programmatic: content, timely, quality, usability of reports, Awareness activities- national, regional, international Coordination with UN and other partners South-South cooperation, north/south, ppp etc. Integrations with national plans, reporting etc. Facilitate South-South cooperation country driven
