ABN Amro Datacenter A9 Program ABN Amro Bank started a project to deliver new fiber optic cables between two data centers because the Dutch government institution Rijkswaterstaat announced plans to restructure the highway A9 (which runs through Amstelveen). As a project manager for Verizon Business I was responsible for a) restart the stranded handing-over of the new fiber optics to the BAU organization (business as usual) within ABN Amro Bank, b) the installation of fiber optics to every computer room of the data centers, c) the migration of the computer and network devices connected to the existing fiber optic infrastructure to the new infrastructure, d) the removal of the old fiber optic infrastructure between the ABN Amro datacenters. Specifics and project scope Define a new approach and setup project plans for the hand-over the new fiber optics, new Entry Rooms and new MDA (Main Distribution Area) to the BAU organization of ABN Amro Bank. Define change, capacity and request fulfillment management processes for the new fiber optic infrastructure. High intense stakeholder and expectation management. Support the commercial department of Verizon Business in setting up new proposals for following projects. Support ABN Amro Bank in the negotiations and agreements with Dutch government institutions Rijkswaterstaat and municipality Amstelveen regarding the A9 highway and Beneluxbaan projects. ABN Amro Datacenter EDC Migration ABN Amro Bank started a Scrum Project to phase out the EDC network topology and migrate all connected devices to the new 3DC network. The determined approach is to support ABN Amro Bank and IBM in completing their inventory of connected systems, distribution over the computer floors and define the new 3DC connections and Firewall/Proxy rules. Eventually the EDC network components will be removed from the data centers. To be able to facilitate in the increasing need of 3DC connectivity, the required and extension must be in line to make sure all runs smooth. 5 Management of the cooperation with the A9 Program is required, to make sure the that network components that are identified for removal will not be migrated to the new fiber optic infrastructure. Specifics and project scope Setup development team based on defined goals, Coach and teach the team in performing their roles, Migration and move of AVAYA telephony test and production environments on both data centers (AVAYA/ Palo Alto/ Cisco), Migration and move of DEP encryption systems on both data centers (Cisco), Setup VLAN stretch design, solution and documentation (Cisco), Move of security devices to the target computer floors. ABN Amro I&PS Portfolio projects From the ABN Amro Bank business domains many requests are raised to implement application specific infrastructure of connections. These requests are part of the portfolio van ABN Amro Bank. As Verizon Project Manager I complete the following portfolio projects. Specifics Implementation of several SSL-MA and VPN connections to i.e. UPSS, Unisys, Credit Agricole France (Cisco/ F5/ Bluecoat/ Zscaler/ Palo Alto). Implementation of Jumbo frames to support the HADOOP enviroments of ABN Amro Bank (Cisco). Extension of networks on the ABN Amro Bank computer floors (Cisco). Implementation of LACP for performance improvements i.e. HADOOP (Cisco). ABN Amro Transition to KPN Document transfer ABN Amro Bank decided to tranfer the network maintenance to KPN. During the transition to KPN I was responsible for the document transfer to KPN. Specifics Define plan of approach. Determine which documentation needs to be transferred to KPN.
