David Jones, Director (806) Fax (806) RE: 916 Main, Suite 445 Lubbock TX (fax) Call for Projects for e FY Transportation Improvement Program Date: September 20, 2013 The Lubbock Metropolitan Planning Organization has issued a Call for Surface Transportation Program Metropolitan Mobility (STP-MM) program funded projects for e FY Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The STP-MM program is a federal funding program, on a reimbursable basis, and all applicable federal rules apply. The development of e TIP is a process by which federal transportation funds are allocated to major road, street, highway, bicycle, pedestrian and public transportation projects wiin e Lubbock Metropolitan Planning Area boundary. Contingent upon e funding forecast approved by e Texas Transportation Commission for FY 14 in e Unified Transportation Plan (UTP), e expected STP-MM amount available for is program call is $15,940,000. SPT-MM projects require a minimum twenty percent (20%) local match; every project submitted will need to include a formal commitment of is local match. Generally, only projects on functionally classified roadways are eligible for federal funding. Roadway projects on local or residential streets do not typically qualify for federal transportation funds. Due to e limited amount of funding available, e MPO requires all stakeholders to prioritize eir projects if ey submit more an one project. Generally e projects selected for funding will be placed in fiscal year 2017 or 2018 of e TIP and e implementing stakeholder commits to developing and letting selected projects in at time frame. The deadline for submitting projects for consideration is 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 21, H. David Jones Executive Director Darrell Westmoreland, AICP Transportation Planner Tera Davis Transportation Planning Technician
