5 evolvdso Consortium established under the FP7 Smart Cities Call The consortium consists of 16 partners including DSOs, TSOs, renowned research institutions and market players Objectives: To develop and validate intelligent tools and methods to enable DSOs (in collaboration with TSOs and other market players) to take on new and evolve existing roles required by the increased number and volume of DRES connected to distribution networks and the progressing activation of the demand side The development and improvement of tools and methods to support distribution network planning, operation and maintenance and to enable DSOs to effectively manage their changing roles in the future grid architecture Evaluate current market architectures and regulatory frameworks and their efficacy and efficiency given a massive DRES integration and to make proposals for mid to long-term improvements 5 esbnetworks.ie
