Self-assessment Questionnaire Participants receive an invitation via FluidSurvey with a unique link to the Self-Assessment quiz two weeks prior to the course. A report will be sent to all faculty members approximately three days before the course. Online Course Evaluation Form Participants are sent an invitation via FluidSurvey with a unique link to the course evaluation. This is sent on the second day of the course and will only be available for two weeks after the course. A report will be generated and sent to all faculty members two week after the course. KEY FEATURES OF THE E-VERSION OF THE ALARM MANUAL EPub format PDF format This format will allow users to view the Manual as an e-book and can be used either on a tablet, computer or laptop using an e-reader app that you have on your device that supports the epub format (i.e. ibooks, Kobo, Sony, Calibre etc.). This format will allow users a couple of options: If you do not have a tablet or are not interested in having an e-reader on your computer, you will still have access to the manual with the PDF version. It can be difficult to print from a tablet, so the PDF version will allow any user to print from their computer what they need (i.e. ALARM manual, a specific chapter or the guidelines.) Interactive Features (epub and PDF versions) Table of Contents From the Table of Contents you just click on the chapter title and you will be brought to the first page of that chapter.

2 References You can now click on any reference in the content of the chapter and you will be taken to that specific reference in the List of References. Website links in the references are active as long as you have connectivity to the Internet. Guidelines There is now a section at the end of chapter for the SOGC Guidelines relevant to the chapter. They will be listed and you can just click the one you would like to read. This feature was added so that if you do not have internet connectivity at any time, you still have access to these guidelines. There is a complete Guideline Directory at the end of the Manual. Tips - Interactive Features Based on feedback that we have received since launching the new ebook for ALARM, some people have asked that the PDF version of the Manual have a fully-indexed Table of Contents and to be able to take notes. It does have that and for you to be able to have this available to you while using the PDF, you just need to follow these few simple steps. Open the PDF version of the Manual and on the left-hand side you will see a column of icons. Please click on the Pages icon (see image below). This will open up and show all of the pages in the Manual. The second page is the Table of Contents and if you select it, it will appear in the right hand side of the window. At this time you can select whatever chapter you would like to go to. This panel will stay open as long as you are in the PDF.

3 To be able to take notes of highlight text in the PDF version of the manual, please follow these steps. Open the PDF version of the manual and on the toolbar across the top you will see Comments. Please click on this (see image below). Now select Show Comment & Markup Toolbar

4 This will give you various options to use including highlight, sticky notes and actually being able to type in notes. This last function could be most useful during the MOL Workshop and Case Discussions Workshop.

5 Things to think about before Downloading your Faculty Kit Please remember if you want to view the epub file (the actual ebook), you will need to have an e-reader whether you are viewing it on your tablet or computer/laptop. There are many good free e-readers that you can easily download. We recommend that if you don t have a tablet like an ipad, that you download the e- reader that we suggest below. It will provide you with a lot more functionality than the PDF version of the Manual. We also suggest that you download and save the Faculty Kit to your desktop keeping in mind that it is sometimes difficult to print from tablets. So, to print any of the materials in the Kit, keeping a copy on your computer/laptop would be helpful. But this is only a suggestion and you can do what is the best option for you. **In your Kit we have now included all of the slide presentations in a format that you can print. You will find a handout format with 6 slides per page in black and white for printing and slides with notes in black and white. I have downloaded my Kit. What do I do next? Viewing e-book on Computer or Laptop To view the epub version of the ALARM Manual you will need to download an e-reader app onto your computer. There are lots of free ones available that support the epub format. After doing some research, we found the Calibre e-reader ( to be a good one. It is available for Windows and Mac computers. It allows you a lot of functionality (i.e. - zooming in on images, printing etc.). Again, this is just a suggestion; it is up to you decide what is best for you. Otherwise, you can just open up the PDF version of the ALARM Manual and start reading. Viewing e-book on Tablet For those who want to view the Manual as an e-book on their tablet, we suggest that you download the epub file onto your tablet. Just view the that has been sent to you from the SOGC on your tablet and click on the unique link. Please remember that even on a tablet you will still need to have an e-reader to view the ebook.
