3 Using the Participant s Website Sign in button Register for a class (by Class ID) Top menu Contact Us Quick Links menu Upcoming Events (animated slide show) Search for a class (by keyword) Upcoming Classes (list view) Sign In button... When clicked, it will take you to the Account Sign-in window where users can sign into epath by entering their complete address and password. Register for a class... (by Class ID) Enter the class ID directly into this field and click the Go button. The system will open the registration page for that Class. Top menu... Top menu containing links to ITLS and SAISD home pages. Contact (Us)... Ask for help with epath from the HelpDesk. Users may also leave comments and their contact information. Quick Links menu... Main menu containing links to Search and Account options. Search for class... (by keyword) Locate Classes based upon all or part of or the search criteria. Upcoming Classes... (list view) The upcoming classes section displays all of the upcoming classes scheduled in the system. Use the More session link to display more upcoming classes. Click on any of the column titles to sort the class listing by that column. Upcoming Events... (animated slide-show) View information concerning upcoming classes, conferences and other events. 4 How to Sign in Participants must have a user account in order to register for classes. Once they login they can access their account information, register for classes, complete session evaluations and view their registration history. Step 1 Step 2 To log into the system: 1. Go to the new epath wiki at On the new epath website: 1. Select the Sign In button Click on the Click here to Login link. Step 3 The Account Sign-in window will open: 1. Enter the username in Username field. (The username is your complete address). 2. Enter the password in the text field. 3. Click Submit button to sign in to the system. Page 4 of 32

5 How to Reset a Password If a participant has an account in the system, but cannot remember their password, they can use the Forgot Password link to reset their password. The Forgotten password link is located on the Account Sign-in page. Step 1 Step 2 To retrieve a password: 1. Click the Sign In button. In the Account Sign-in window: 2. Select the click here link. The following window will open: 1. Enter the accounts address. 2. Click Get Password button. An will be sent to the address provided with instructions on how to reset the account password. 3. 6 How to Reset a Password, continued... Step 3 Step 4 Log into your Outlook Account: 1. Check your Inbox for new mail. 2. 7 How to Change a Password If a participant already has an account it the system, and knows their current their password, they can use the Change Password link to set a new password for their account. Step 1 Step 2 1. Log into epath. On the QuickLinks menu: 1. Select the User Account link from the main menu bar. In the My Account: User Account window: 1. Click on the Change Password link located at the top of the User Account page. Step 3 In the My Account: User Account - Password Management window: 1. Enter the login address in the Address field. 2. Enter the existing password in the Current Password field. 3. Enter the new password in the New Password field. 4. Confirm the new password in the Confirm New Password field. 5. Click the Change Password button. Page 7 of 32

8 How to add a Secondary address If a participant would like to receive sent by the epath system at another address (in addition to their SAISD account), they can designate a secondary address. For example, a Hotmail, Gmail or Yahoo account. Step 1 Step 2 1. Log into epath. On the QuickLinks menu: 1. Select the User Account link from the main menu bar. In the My Account: User Account window: 1. Click in the Secondary field. 2. Type in your secondary Click the Save button. Page 8 of 32

9 Locating Professional Development Classes There are several different tools in the customer website that can be used to locate the Professional Development Classes offered. The epath home page advertises the upcoming events in on the bottom of the screen. For convenience, that Class ID can be entered directly into the Already know the Class ID search area to be directed to the registration page for that Class. Upcoming Classes The upcoming classes section of the website displays all of the upcoming classes scheduled in the system. Use the More Classes link to display more upcoming classes. Click on any of the column titles to sort the class listings by that column. Page 9 of 32

10 Using the Search Options The participants may also choose to Search for classes, Browse the listing of classes, or view the Calendar of Events in order to locate a class they would like to register for. Classes can be also be located by using the Search feature to search by title, class id, dates, audiences, subjects, and location. Step 1 Step 2 On the QuickLinks menu: 1. Click the Search Options link. In the Search Options window: 1. Choose one of the three options; Option 1: Search Classes Option 2: Browse Classes Option 3: Calendar of Classes Page 10 of 32

11 Using the Search Options, continued... Option 1: Search Classes Search Professional Development Catalog For - The Search will locate all Classes which include all or part of the search criteria selected. For example: If a search is performed using the word Student the results will include any class with Student in the title. Audience - To search for classes by Audience, choose the appropriate Audience from the drop-down menu and click on the Search button. The search results will contain any class that is currently open for registration that is intended for this Audience. Subject - To search for classes by Subject, choose the appropriate Subject from the drop-down menu and click on the Search button. The search results will contain any class that is currently open for registration that covers this Subject. Start Date/End Date - Adding a date range to any of the above example will narrow the search result further by only including those classes that start during that date range. Already know the Class ID? - If the customer already knows the Class ID for a Class, they may enter that Class ID in the Already know the Class ID search area and they will be directed to the detail page for that Class. Note: This feature may be used even if a class is marked not appear online. The other Search features do not include Class marked as Do not Display online in the search results. Page 11 of 32

12 Using the Search Options, continued... Option 2: Browse Classes Browse Classes - The participant selects to browse by audience, subject or location and then choose the preferred sort by ascending order or descending order. When choosing audience, to see all audiences regardless of a class or events offered, uncheck the box Only display audiences with classes. Click Browse to see the classes/events offered. Step 1 Step 2 1. Scroll through the audiences by using the next and previous buttons. 2. Clicking on the audience link which will bring up all the classes offered for that audience. The example above shows 2 events offered for Bus Drivers. 1. Click on the class link to register for the class. Page 12 of 32

13 Using the Search Options, continued... Option 3: Calendar of Classes The calendar of classes link displays the classes in a calendar format. Participants can click on a title to view additional information and register for the class. The main calendar will display the classes scheduled at all work-sites. Select a work-site from the drop-down menu to view the calendar of classes scheduled only at that work-site. Use the Previous and Next Links to view classes at that work-site on different months. Click on the More link to see additional classes scheduled for the day. Use the drop down boxes to select a different month or year and click the Go button Use the Prev. Month button to go back to the previous month. Use the Next Month button to see the sessions offered in the upcoming months. Page 13 of 32

14 Registering for a Class Once the participant locates a class they would like to register for they may select the Register button. The shopping Cart will display. Users may also look for classes without logging into epath; but must login in order to register for a class. Step 1 Stop! Are your sure? 1. Log into epath. 2. Locate a class you wish to register for using the system s Search Options. 3. Once you ve located a class, click on the Register button. In the Shopping Cart: 1. If this selection was added by mistake, click the Remove button to delete it from the shopping cart. Page 14 of 32

15 Registering for a Class, continued... Step 2 Step 3 1. If this is only class that will be registered for, click the Checkout button. Note: The participant will now be asked to log into the system if they have not already done so. 1. The participant can click on the Registration History link to print a confirmation page. 2. The participant will receive a confirmation similar to the one in [Fig.3]. 2. Click the Complete Checkout button to finish registering for the class. Fig. 3 Page 15 of 32

16 How to manage your Waiting Lists If a participants attempts to register for a class that has reached it s maximum number of participants, they will be placed on a Waiting Lists. If a space in the class becomes available, the system will send the participants an notifying them that a space is available in the class. Participants will be notified by the system in the order that they have been placed on the Waiting List (i.e., first come/first served). Please note that you will have 24 hours from the time the is sent to register for the spot in the class. After your 24 hour window has passed, the next person on the Waiting List will be notified to register and your name will be moved to the bottom of the waiting list. Page 16 of 32

17 How to manage your Waiting Lists, continued... How to join a Waiting List Step 1 Step 2 1. Log into epath. 2. Locate a class you wish to register for using the system s Search Options. If the class is full, the Register button will be replaced with a Waiting List Button. In the Class Detail window: 1. Click on the Waiting List button Step 3 In the My Account: Registration History/ Waiting List window: 1. View the confirm screen to make sure that you ve been added to the correct class waiting lists. Page 17 of 32

18 How to manage your Waiting Lists, continued... Once you ve received your notification If a space becomes open in the class, you will receive an notifying you that space is available in the class. You will have 24 hours from the time the is sent to register for the spot in the class. Step 1 Step 2 Log into your Outlook Account: 1. Check your Inbox for new mail. 2. Step 3 In the Shopping Cart window: 1. Click on the Checkout button to confirm that you are going to complete the class registration. Page 18 of 32

19 How to manage your Waiting Lists, continued... Step 4 Step 5 In the Cart Checkout window: 1. Click the Complete Checkout button to complete the Checkout process. 1. In the Checkout Complete window, you may confirm your registration by visiting your Registration History page. Wait Lists - Other maintenance options How do I know if I m on a class Waiting Lists? 1. Log into epath. 2. Select the Registration History link from the QuickLinks menu. 3. In the My Account: Registration History window, click on the Waiting List option. 4. View all the classes that currently have you listed on their waiting lists. How do I remove myself from a Waiting Lists? 1. Log into epath. 2. Select the Registration History link from the QuickLinks menu. 3. In the My Account: Registration History window, click on the Waiting List option. 4. Click on the Remove from Waiting List link in the class title area. Page 19 of 32

20 Sharing a Class When viewing a class s detail page, a link is available allowing the participant to someone information about the event. Step 1 Step 2 1. Click on the Share button to a friend the session information. 1. Enter the address of your friend or colleague. 2. Enter a message to your friend or colleague in the short message box. 3. Click Send. Note: Clicking Cancel will cause the system to not send the . Page 20 of 32

21 Subscriptions to topics of interest The subscriptions area allows users to select to receive notifications when classes that cover their topics of interest become open for registration. Step 1 Step 2 1. Log into epath. On the QuickLinks menu: 1. Select the Subscriptions link. In the My Account: Subscriptions window: 1. The participant selects the topics from the list by clicking on the topic. Note: Select several topics by using the shift click. Step 3 Step 4 1. Once the topics are selected, click the Add button to move them to the subscription list. 1. Click Save Subscriptions. 2. The participant will now receive an when classes in the subscription list are open for registration. Page 21 of 32

22 Subscriptions to topics of interest, continued... Stop! Are your sure? Step 5 To remove a subscription: 1. Select the topic from the subscription list. 2. Click the Remove button. 3. Click Save Subscriptions. 1. On this screen, the participant also has a choice to receive recommended events by When Yes is chosen, the participant will receive an of recommended events based by the past events they have taken [Fig. 5]. 23 Your Professional Development Record The Professional Development Record allows the user to track the amount of credit received from professional development events recorded in epath. You may view official and/or personal transcript information. Keep a complete transcript by tracking professional development events taken outside of the district. There are two types of Professional Development Records: Option 1 - Official Professional Development Record The professional development Record display all of the credit received from professional development classes taken from San Antonio ISD. This record may not be modified. Option 2 - Personal Professional Development Record The Personal Professional Development tool is used to track classes or meetings attended outside of SAISD s epath system. Step 1 Step 2 1. Log into epath. On the QuickLinks menu: 1. Select the Prof. Develop Record link. In the My Account: Professional Development Record window choose between: Option 1 - Official Record Option 2 - Personal Record Page 23 of 32

24 Your Professional Development Record, continued... Option 1: Official Professional Development Record Step 1 Step 2 1. Select the Year of Record desired from the drop-down box. 2. Click the Go button. 1. A file download window will open. 2. Choose one of the three options; Open opens the pdf file, Save allows you to save the file and Cancel cancels this action. Page 24 of 32

25 Your Professional Development Record, continued... Option 2: Personal Professional Development Record Step 1 Step 2 1. Click Manage Transcript. 1. Enter the Title of the outside meeting/ event. 2. Select the Date from the calendar icon. 3. Select the appropriate Credit Type from the drop-down. 4. Enter in a Credit Name if credit type of other was selected. 5. Enter the amount of Credit Earned. 6. Click Add Credit. Page 25 of 32

26 Your Professional Development Record, continued... Step 3 An entry will appear in your Personal Professional Development log. To Delete an Entry: 1. Click the red next to the entry you would like to delete. 2. Click OK when prompted Are you sure you want to delete this credit? To View Transcript Entries Date Range: 1. Enter a date range. 2. Select Go to see only those entries for that date range. 3. Choose the Print button to print the entries listed. 4. Check Include Official Credits to add all of the official credits to the list. 27 Your Registration History Each customer has the ability to view upcoming or past events and change their registration information online as well as print confirmations for any registered event. Step 1 Step 2 1. Log into epath. On the QuickLinks menu: 1. Select the Registration History link. In the My Account: Registration History window: To view your registration history: 1. Click on the Past Classes to display classes already attended. To view your upcoming classes: 1. Click on the Upcoming Classes to display your current registrations. 2. You may also print another copy of the Confirmation And, cancel a class registration. Page 27 of 32

28 Your Registration History, continued... Canceling a Class Registration To cancel a Class Registration: 1. Click on Upcoming Classes. 2. Click on the Cancel Registration link located under the course s title. In the Cancel Registration page: 1. Click the Cancel Registration button to verify the cancelation. 2. A Cancelation confirmation message will display [Fig. 6], and a notification of cancellation will be sent to your Inbox. Note: You will have 24 hours before the class takes place to cancel your registration. If you miss the 24 hour deadline, please contact the Instructor/Facilitator/Department conducting the class. 29 Online Evaluations and Certificates Once a participant has been marked attended for an event, the Evaluation link will display in the Past Classes section of the Registration History. Step 1 Step 2 1. Log into epath. On the QuickLinks menu: 1. Select the Registration History link. In the My Account: Registration History window: 1. Click on the Past Classes option. Step 3 1. Locate your Class. 2. Click on the evaluation link to complete the evaluation. Once the online evaluation is submitted, the Evaluation link will be replaced by a Certificate link and the attendee may then print a certificate for the event. 3. The Evaluation Link will display in the Past registration history page until it has been completed. Page 29 of 32

30 How to Logout of epath After you ve completed your epath session, please make sure to LOGOUT of epath by clicking on either one of the two logout buttons. Step 1 After you have successfully logged into epath and completed your session: On the QuickLinks menu: 1. Select the Logout button. Or click on the Logout button located on the Top menu.
