Prometheus Student Help Guide 2 INTRODUCTION Description Prometheus is a web-based courseware application that allows instructors to post course related information for students and conduct courses online in a secure environment. Instructions Browsers Prometheus may be viewed by Netscape's Navigator browser 2.0 or higher, or by Microsoft's Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher. However, the system is best viewed by Netscape Navigator We strongly suggest that you DO NOT use Internet Explorer 3.0. This browser does not handle HTML forms properly and therefore will not allow you to post files, and messages that you post in the discussions will be improperly formatted. If you are using IE 3, please upgrade to Netscape or a higher version of IE. Login You must enter Prometheus with a personal User Name and Password at the first login screen. The first time you use Prometheus, you must create your own User Name and Password by clicking on "Create a New Account on the login screen. After setting up an Account, you may access Prometheus at any time from the login screen using your User Name and Password. You may join and participate in several different courses on Prometheus. When entering Prometheus after initially creating a new Student Account, the Course Listings page will indicate that you are not currently signed up for any courses. You must use the Course ID and Course Password provided by the professor to sign-up for a course. Once you have joined a course, when you log in you will be presented with a listing of all the courses you have joined on the Course Listings page. Add Course In order to join an existing course, you must obtain the Course ID number and a Course Password from the instructor of the course. You can then sign up for that course by clicking on the "Add A Course" link on the Course Listings page--the first screen after the login. Fill out the Course ID and Course Password boxes in the form on the following page then click on the button. A link to the course will appear on your Course Listings page so you can access course materials. To view the course, click the course number. You can join other courses by repeating these steps. If you are a co-instructor on this course, the original instructor will have to set up your permissions for administrative access if necessary.

Prometheus Student Help Guide 3 Note: You only need to remember the Course ID and Course Password once to sign up for a particular course. After signing up for that course, you only need your personal User Name and Password to access courses within Prometheus. Added Features for Version 4.0 Voice and Text Chats, with Whiteboard Capabilities Communicate more effectively and efficiently with students in real-time and push slides to them. Graphical User Interface Upon logging users can choose between a graphically rich interface or textual based interface. 5 Prometheus Student Help Guide 5 Course Listings OUTSIDE A COURSE To get a current list of your courses, click on "Course Listings." You will see the Course Number, Course Title and the name of the professor. Clicking on an underlined course number allows you to view that course. Course Listings also is the gateway into the online course. From here, you can access, view and edit all options available through Prometheus. By clicking on Preferences, you can modify User Information and User Interface and access Advanced Editing options. Through Course Controls, you can Create, Delete, or Copy a course, as well as change the course semester or end the semester. From Archive Library, you can archive discussion topics for later viewing, as well as delete archived discussions. Preferences Through this option, you can edit your user information and edit the appearance of your interface by using the "Edit User Info" or "Edit User Interface" links. Edit User Info To edit your personal information and password, click on "Edit User Information." This will take you to a screen where you can change your first name, last name, address, username, and password. When you change your password, you will have to re-enter the same password in the line below it to ensure you typed it correctly. Once you have changed the appropriate information, click on the Update button to save your changes and return to the Course Listings screen. Edit User Interface To alter the appearance of your personal Prometheus user interface, click on "Edit User Interface." From here you can change the colors of the different aspects of your interface with Prometheus. You can also decide the font size and type of both your interface text and the input fields, and how many discussions you would like to view at a time in the Discussions area of Prometheus. If you are not sure what a color looks like, click on the palette next to the pull-down menu. A window will open where you can view all the colors available. When you have set your preferences, click the Update button. You will return to the Course Listings page, where your changes will be reflected. Prometheus will save your changes and every time you log onto the system from any computer the interface will appear with your personal settings.

Prometheus Student Help Guide 6 Note: The preferences are associated with your username, not a specific computer. If you log on to Prometheus under a different username, these preferences will not appear unless you have set them under that username as well. Add Course To join a course, you must get the Course ID and the Course Password from your instructor. Once you enter this information onto the Add Course page, you will be able to access course materials. Remove Course After removing the course, if you wish to re-enter the course later, simply add the course again in the above section with the Course ID and Password supplied by your instructor. Note: The instructor may change the password for the course during the semester. If you cannot add the course using the original password, please contact your instructor to make sure he or she has not changed the password.

Prometheus Student Help Guide 7 OUTLINE This feature allows you to view the outline for a course in three different ways. The Outline view shows the dates, session numbers and titles in chronological order and allows you to click on the session number to get additional information. The Assignments view lists every session in order with date, topic, class plan, assignments due, required and recommended readings and files associated with that session. The Calendar view shows monthly calendars that cover the duration of the course, with course dates linked to the session page for that date. In some cases, the Calendar view may have been turned off by the instructor. Session Each class meeting is a different session with its own page. The session page lists the topics, assignments, readings and files your instructor requires for class, as well as any items the instructor may have put on electronic reserve. Certain items may be hyperlinked to locations or files. Click on these items to get to the link. Some of the links may be documents you wish to save, particularly the ones under Files. To save a file on a PC, right click on the link. A short menu of options should appear. In Internet Explorer, click on Save Target As. In Netscape, click on Save Link As. This should give you a directory to choose where to save the file. If you are using a browser other than Internet Explorer or Netscape, consult your browser s help function on how to save files. To save a file on a Macintosh computer, click on the file and drag it to your desktop. You can use the links at the top of the Session Page to return to any of the outline views. In addition, you can move between the session pages by using the links on either side of the session date. They will take you to the sessions immediately before, or immediately after, the current session.

Prometheus Student Help Guide 8 TESTING This function allows you to take tests online. The instructor will give you the date the test will be available, and a password to access the test, if one is required. Choose the test you are to take from the list on the Testing page. If a password is required, Prometheus will ask you for it now. Once you provide the password, the test will appear. Answer each question on the test. If you wish to add mathematic or scientific equations to any of the text areas in this section, click on this equation editor graphic ( ) to open the WebEQ Equation Editor. To add files from the Files Collections to any of the text areas, click on the file folder graphic ( ) and select the file from the collection. Once you have answered all the questions, click on the Submit button. You will see a message that tells you your test has been submitted to Prometheus. Click the OK button to make the message disappear. The list of tests will appear again, but the test you have taken will no longer have a link, so you will not be able to access it again.

Prometheus Student Help Guide 9 GRADE BOOK Your grade book access depends your instructor s settings. If the instructor has set the grade book so you can see only your own grades, you will see a table with your point totals for each item and your overall grade. If the instructor has set the grade book so you can see the grades of the entire class, you will see the same information for everyone in the class. Your name will appear; however, the other students will be listed as Undisclosed. No one else will know which score is yours when they view their own grade book. The instructor may choose to set the grade book so that no students can view it, in which case you will not have access to any grades.

Prometheus Student Help Guide 10 FILES From the Files page you can post files for general use by everyone in the course, as well as files that are for your use only, or for a specific instructor. Files are posted to specific categories. Prometheus automatically establishes categories for General Files, which can be viewed by anyone in the class, and your own Personal Files, which can only be viewed by you. Other categories may be created by the instructor. The files on your page can be sorted by Title, Date, and Posted By. Each of these underlined column headings works as a hyperlink. To sort the files, click on the header of the column you wish to sort by. The files in that category will now be sorted using that method. Note: Sorting by Date will only sort with the most recent files first. Post File From this page you can post a new file to a category. You cannot post multimedia files to Prometheus; only an instructor has that ability. Enter a title for the file in the text box below Title. Next, either type the full path to the file on your computer, or click on the Browse button. This will allow you to search your hard drive to find the file. Once you have the path in the text field, the file will be uploaded when you complete the posting form. Enter any notes you would like to associate with the file into the text field below Notes. If you wish to add mathematic or scientific equations to any of the text areas in this section, click on this equation editor graphic ( ) to open the WebEQ Equation Editor. To add files from the Files Collections to any of the text areas, click on the file folder graphic ( ) and select the file from the collection. Choose a person or category to post to from the pull-down menu below This file should be viewed by. Once you have entered all the necessary information, click the Post File button. This will return you to the main Files page. Your new file should now be listed in the category you chose, unless you chose to post the file to a particular person, in which case you will not see the file on your file list. Note: You must enter a title, select a file, and select a person or category to send the file to before Prometheus will allow you to post the file. To view the file from the Files page, click on the title of the file. Once you view the file do not use the back button on your browser. This can cause your file to be posted again. Click on "Files" in the menu in the menu of your screen to return to the main Files page.

Prometheus Student Help Guide 11 There is a limit on the time allowed for a file to upload to Prometheus; therefore, larger files may time-out before they are able to finish posting. Please keep the files as small as possible to avoid this problem. Edit Posting From this screen you can edit the information on the files you have posted. Check the radio button next to the posting you wish to edit. Click the Edit button. This will take you to a screen where you can change any information associated with the file. You cannot change the associated file itself from here; you must delete the entire posting then add the new one. Once you have edited the information, click on the Edit Information button. This will save your changes and return you to the main Files page. Note: You are not able to edit the file from here, only the posting. To edit the file, you must use the program it was originally created in then reload the newer version. Delete Posting This screen allows you to delete files you have posted to your Personal Files section. Check the box next to the posting you wish to delete then click on the Delete button. The page will refresh, and the file will no longer be listed. To return to the main Files page, click on Files at the top of the page. Note: You cannot delete files you have posted to the General Files section; only an instructor may delete files from that section. Logs You can view logs of files you have posted by clicking on the Log button on the right side of the Files page. To clear your log entries, click on the Clear Log button on the right side of the Logs page.

Prometheus Student Help Guide 14 DISCUSSIONS The Discussions section allows the members of the class to have a posted discussion as opposed to a real-time chat. Messages are posted to the discussions board under a particular topic for anyone enrolled in the course to read. Class members can respond to each other's messages on the discussion board whenever they have time. There are three kinds of discussion boards: General Discussion, Group Discussion and Category Discussion. General Discussion boards are for anyone in the course about general topics concerning the class. Group Discussion boards are for assigned groups on Prometheus, and are visible only to the members of the group itself, as well as the instructor, if he or she has set the group to allow him or her access to the group's discussion. Category Discussion Boards are for special categories created by the instructor within the course. You can choose how you view your topics. At the top of the screen, you can choose to view the newest messages first by clicking on "New" next to "Topic Order." To view the oldest messages first, click "Old." If you have your preferences set to view one message at a time, you also have the option of viewing all the messages, or only the ones you have not read. To view all messages, click "All" next to "View Messages" at the top of the screen. To view only those messages you have yet to read, click "Unread." Note: If it appears that all your discussion messages have disappeared, check your "View Messages" setting to make sure it is set to view "All" and not just "Unread." In addition to viewing order, you can also set your Prometheus account to view all threads at one time, or just one thread at a time. From the Course Listings page, click on "Preferences." Then click "Edit User Interface." At the bottom of the preferences, next to "Number of Discussions to view," is a pull-down menu. If you wish to view one thread at a time, select "1." If you wish to view all threads at one time, select "All." Topic Listing All topics created are viewable on the Topic Listing page. To read a discussion in a particular topic, click on the name of that topic. This will take you to the discussion listing for that topic. If your options are set to view one thread at a time The arrow at the left underneath the words "Navigate Topic" will take you forward through the discussion under a topic if it is pointing to the left. If it is pointing to the right, clicking on the arrow will take you back through the discussion under the topic.

Prometheus Student Help Guide 15 To choose a particular thread in the topic, click on the link to that message in the white box next to the words "Navigate Topic." You can view what time each thread was posted by holding your cursor over each text link. In the bottom left corner of your browser you will see the date and time that message was posted. Messages are listed in chronological order by main topic, with all replies attached to their original message. If your options are set to show all threads at one time The topics are listed at the top of the screen, with each message below the list. You can scroll down the list, or click on a particular message in the list to be taken to that spot on the page. To see the list again, scroll back up to the top of the page. To reply to a topic, click "Message Reply" on the menu bar. If you wish to post your reply to the discussion board, fill in the subject, if necessary, and the message body. Create Topic If the instructor has enabled students to create topics, you can create a new discussion topic by clicking on "Create Topic" at the top of the page. This will take you to a screen where you can enter the name of the topic. Once you have entered the name, select which board you want to see this topic from the pull-down menu next to "Viewable By."

Prometheus Student Help Guide 16 Click on the Create Topic Name button. You will then see a screen that allows you to enter the subject and message for the initial message to be posted to this new topic. After you enter the text for the message, click the Submit Message button. This returns you to the Topic Listing page. Your new topic should be listed. To view the topic and your message, click on the topic name.

Prometheus Student Help Guide 17 WEBEQ EQUATION EDITOR The Equation Editor allows you to insert equations into text areas. After Creating an equation you may Insert it into your course, Edit the equation's content, or Delete it. You may reuse the same equation in multiple text areas once it has been created. Equation names will automatically be prepended with 'Eqn:'. Equation titles must be unique for each class. Each equation can be used only once in each text area; however, you can Create the same equation again, which will give the second one a different name and allow you to use it twice in the same text area if necessary. You do not need to install the equation editor for it to work; however, it will run faster if you install it on your hard drive. You only need to install it once. After that, you can simply choose from the links at the top to use the editor. To remove the equation editor from your hard drive, paste the pseudo-url %WINDIR%\Downloaded Program Files into the Internet Explorer address bar and delete the entry labeled 'WebEQ.' Then go to %WINDIR%\Java\lib and delete the 'webeq' directory. If these items do not exist, WebEQ is not installed on your hard drive. Note: The Equation Editor can only be used with the following browsers: Netscape Navigator 4.0+ and Microsoft Internet Explorer Both Java and JavaScript need to be enabled in your browser. Macintosh users wishing to install the Equation Editor should complete the installation manually. Shift-click on 'Install the JAR file' to save the Math Viewer JAR archive to your local disk. Mac/Netscape users: move that file to the '.../Program/Java/Download' directory of your Netscape installation and restart your browser. Mac/Internet Explorer users: open the Preferences panel in Internet Explorer (under the Edit menu) and select 'Java' to bring up the Java preference panel. Add the WebEQApplet.jar file to your classpath, and restart the browser.

Prometheus Student Help Guide 18 FILES COLLECTION The Files Collection section allows you to upload almost any type of file for use within a course in Prometheus or to link to files on a CD-ROM. This feature can also be accessed by clicking on the file folder graphic ( ) from virtually any text area in a Prometheus form. This function differs from the regular post file method in that you can use the files housed in your collection on your account for any course where you are a member or instructor; you can even use the same file in many different places or different courses, while only having to upload it once to your collection. It also allows you to link to a file on CD-ROM, and to tag MPEG video files with keywords that jump directly to certain timestamps within the video. In order for the CD-ROM function to work, you must go into Edit User Information from the Preferences Menu and select the drive letter name for your CD-ROM drive. Each course member must do the same from his or her account. If you are using your account on a different computer, you must check to be sure the CD-ROM drive matches the setting on your account. If you do not do this, Prometheus will not know where to look for the files on CD-ROM. Regular Files Virtually any file type can be uploaded. However, files with the extensions.jpg, gif and.png are images that will be imbedded directly in the document. Instead of showing up as a link, these files will be actual images when the form is submitted. If you wish to just put up a link to the file, use the regular Post File method. CD-ROM File You can also point to any type of file on CD-ROM, but each person attempting to access the file must have the CD with that file on it. In order for the CD-ROM function to work, you must go into Edit User Information from the Preferences Menu and select the drive letter name for your CD-ROM drive. If you are posting or linking to an MPEG video, you can tag specific keywords to timestamps throughout the video to allow others to jump to certain points automatically by selecting that keyword from a pull-down menu. In order to use this function you must have Netscape 4.5 or higher, or Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher. Otherwise the pulldown menu will not appear. Before using this section, you must also have Windows Media Player if you are using any version of Windows, or Apple Quicktime if you are using a Mac. MPEG files will be marked with a camera icon next to the link to the file in the file list in File Collections. * Files To view a list of existing files, click "Files" on the top menu at any time. You will see a list of all files you have uploaded or marked.

Prometheus Student Help Guide 19 * Create Regular File To upload a new file or create a new marker, click "Create" on the top menu. Type in the Title you wish to appear as a link to the file. Then choose "Regular File" as the type of file you are posting. Please be sure to chose the correct file type carefully. Once you have chosen the file type, you may enter any notes you wish to associate with this file, then click the Submit button. This will take you to a screen where you can use the Browse button to search for the file you wish to upload. Select the file from your hard drive folders, then click the Open button. The file name and path should appear Click the Submit button to return to the Files list. Your new file should be on the list, along with the date and any notes you associated with it. CD-ROM File To upload a new file or create a new marker, click "Create" on the top menu. Type in the Title you wish to appear as a link to the file or marker. Then choose "CD-ROM File" as the type of file you are posting. Please be sure to chose the correct file type carefully, otherwise, Prometheus will attempt to load the entire file from the CD to the Prometheus server, and will not find it on CD-ROM when your students click on the link. Once you have chosen the file type, you may enter any notes you wish to associate with this file, then click the Submit button. This will take you to a screen where you can use the Browse button to search for the file you wish to upload or mark. Select the file from your CD folders, then click the Open button. The file name and path should appear Click the Submit button to return to the Files list. Your new file should be on the list, along with the date and any notes you associated with it. If your file is an MPEG video file, there will be a camera icon next to the link to the file. To change the size of the video screen and to tag certain spots of the video with keywords, click on the camera. This will take you to a screen where you can view your video file and make changes. You must click on the camera to be able to make changes; if you click on the file name itself you will only be able to view the file. To tag certain parts of the video with a keyword for easy access by students later, let the video run until you come to the beginning of point you wish to tag. Click in the "Keyword" text field to pause the video. Once you have paused in the right spot, enter the keyword for this tag into the text field below "Keyword." Then click the Add It button next to the timestamp to add the keyword and restart the video from that point. The keyword will appear in the pull-down menu under "Delete Keyword." If you decide you do not want to keep this keyword at any time, simply come back to this page, select that keyword from this pull-down menu, and click the Delete It button.

Prometheus Student Help Guide 20 Once you have entered all the keywords you wish to tag, click "Files" on the top menu to return to the list of files. To change the size of your video display, click on the word "size" at the bottom of the screen, where it says "You can edit the size your video will display at here." You can type in any numbers to replace the default 400 height and 450 width; however, be sure the numbers are proportionate to each other, or the video will be distorted when it plays. For example, to make the video half the size of the default, you would enter 200 for height, and 225 for width--exactly half of each number. To double the display in size, you would enter a height of 800 and a width of 450. Once you enter the size, click Submit to return to the keyword/timestamp page. Your video should be resized. *Edit To edit the posting for a file, click "Edit" on the menu. You cannot edit the actual file from here, only the notes and title. Select the file posting you wish to edit, then click the Edit button below the list of files. From here you can change the title of the file, or the notes attached to it. Once you have made your changes, click the Edit button at the bottom of the screen. This will return you to the files list, where your changes will be reflected. To delete keywords or create more keywords in an MPEG, click on the camera beside the file name. * Delete To delete a file, click "Delete" on the top menu. Click the box next to the file you wish to delete, then click the Delete button at the bottom of the files. The page will refresh, and the file will no longer be in the list. To return to the file listing, click "Files" in the top menu. Note: If you delete a file in Files Collections, that will not delete the links you have made to that file in your courses. The links appear in the text field in the form where you originally added them, in this format: {fil:"filename"} with "filename" as the name of the file you uploaded. You must delete those text links separately. Do not edit those text links within the form; if you change any of the text inside the { } brackets the link will not work. If you change the name of one of your files, you must delete the entire text, including the brackets, then resubmit it using the File Collections link.

Prometheus Student Help Guide 21 HTML GUIDE The text input boxes throughout the Prometheus system will accept standard HTML code if you wish to do some extra formatting of the text entered into the input box, including the creation of hyperlinks to other web sites. HTML consists of nested tags, affecting whatever text is included within the beginning and ending HTML tags. For example, to bold a certain section of text you can use the bold tag: <b>this text will be bold after submitting the form.</b> Following is a list of simple HTML tags that can be used in the text boxes throughout Prometheus: Text Bold: <b>bold</b> Italics: <i>italics</i> Underline: <u>underline</u> Font Size: <font size="-1">this text will be one size smaller</font> - or - <font size="+1">this text will be one size larger</font> Font Color: <font color="red">this text will be red</font> Font Face: <font face="arial">this text will be in Arial font</font> Links <a href=full URL goes in here>this text will be a highlighted link</a> - i.e. - <a href= Post</a> Note: Please do not use quotation marks as they are not needed and are often more problematic than helpful.

Once you have entered your password, you must re-enter it to insure that it was entered correctly. 2. What do I do with this "Course ID" and "Course Password" that my faculty member gave to me? To signup for a course in Prometheus you need to have the Course ID and Course Password. The course ID and password will be provided to you by your faculty member. Since Prometheus is a secure application, the course ID and password ensure that course materials are protected. To join a course, click on the "Add Course" link on the Course Listings page. In the "Course ID" field, enter the course ID provided by your faculty member and in the "Course Password" field, enter the course password provided by your faculty member, then hit the Add Course button. This will bring you back to the Course Listings page; here you should see a link for the course you just joined. You will only need to use the course ID and password once, to initially join the course; afterwards you can click on the link for the course to view the course materials. 3. I tried to log into Prometheus with the "Course ID" and "Course Password: provided by my professor, but it doesn't work. What's wrong? You must create your own personal student account, then join the course using the "Course ID" and "Course Password" provided by your professor. 4. Why can't I log in to Prometheus? Make sure that you are using the correct user name and password. Enter your user name in the 'User Name' field and your password in the 'Password' field, then click on the 'Login' button. You can have your correct user name and password ed to you from the Forgotten Password page.

Prometheus Student Help Guide What do I do if I forgot my username or password? If you forget your user name or password, use the link on the front page for 'Forgotten Passwords'. On the forgotten password page, simply enter your address into the form and hit the submit button. Your user name and password will be sent to you via Why can't I edit one of the files that I posted? The edit function in the Files section allows you to edit the information about the file, such as the document's title in Prometheus, notes about the file, the session to associate the file with, and who should see the file. If you need to edit the file itself, download the file to your hard drive and make your edits. Then go into Prometheus and delete the old file and upload the new file to Prometheus. 7. How do I know if that I sent through Prometheus really went through? Check the messages log file. The last step that occurs when you send a message through Prometheus is a line is written to the log file. If your message does not appear, there may an issue with the mail server - not related to Prometheus. Please contact the administrator. 8. Why can't I get into ichat? Check your browser properties to make sure that java is enabled on your browser. 9. What browser do you recommend using for Prometheus? It is highly recommended that you view Prometheus with newer browsers. It is best viewed with Netscape Navigator 4.0 or higher; however, Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher will work as well. If you are using the Macintosh operating system, it is recommended that you use Netscape Navigator because Internet Explorer does not always refresh pages. IE uses cached pages, and it may be difficult to use Prometheus on this platform with IE. Within your browser settings, make sure that both java and javascript are enabled on your browser.

Prometheus Student Help Guide I need to change personal information for my account--such as the way my name appears or my address. To change this information, log onto Prometheus. From the Course Listings Page, choose the Preferences link, then choose Edit User Information. This brings you to a page where you can change your username, password, address and/or the way your name appears. 11. What applications or plug-ins for my browser might I need to use all the features in Prometheus? Prometheus itself does not require you to use any plug-ins; however, some useful applications to have for files that may be uploaded to the system are Adobe Acrobat and RealPlayer. Adobe Acrobat allows you to view any pdf files uploaded to Prometheus. This application is needed to view most e-reserves. RealPlayer is used to view multimedia that faculty may upload to Prometheus, such as a RealPresenter file, or a RealAudio or RealVideo file. To view MPEG videos, you will need the free Windows Media Player if you are using a PC, or Apple's free Quicktime movie viewer if you are on a Mac. It is also important to remember that if you download any file from Prometheus, you must have the application that the file was created in to view. For example, if you download a PowerPoint presentation, you must have Microsoft PowerPoint installed on your computer to view that file. 12. I am uploading a large file over a modem connection and I keep getting an error message. Most likely while you were uploading, something has timed out--probably because the file is too large to easily transfer through a slower connection. It is possible that Prometheus timed out, your ISP timed out, your browser timed out, or that you lost your connection with the internet. The best way to upload large files is to do the transfer over a LAN or a high-speed connection.

Prometheus Student Help Guide I am trying to view a PDF document using Internet Explorer 5.0 and it's not working. There are several things that could be wrong. Check your security settings in IE. Select the tools menu on the browser and choose Internet Options. Click on the security tab then click the Default button. This will reset your security settings back to the defaults. If that does not work and you have Adobe Acrobat 4.0 or higher open Acrobat and click on the file menu and choose Preferences, then General. Under Options, towards the bottom of the window, uncheck the Web Browser Integration box and click apply. Now when you click on a PDF file, Acrobat will launch outside the browser and you can view the file. The last option is to save the file directly to your hard drive. To save a file on a PC, right click on the link. A short menu of options should appear. In Internet Explorer, click on "Save Target As." In Netscape, click on "Save Link As." This should give you a directory to choose where to save the file. If you are using a browser other than Internet Explorer or Netscape, consult your browser's help function on how to save files. To save a file on a Macintosh computer, click on the file and drag it to your desktop. 14. I am using multiple Equations and/or Files together and they aren't displaying properly. Although each equation created with the WebEQ Equation Editor and file created within File Collections can be used multiple times within a course, each can only be used once in each text area. Multiple Equations and Files can be added to each text area as long as none of them are added more than once.
