1 1 A P R I L Greetings listeners and friends of KMSU! It s That Time Again! The early spring-like weather reminds me that our spring Pledge Drive will soon be here! Please save the dates: Wednesday, April 20th Friday, April 29th. Our long-time Morning Show hosts, Shy-Boy Tim and Shelley, will be doing their 24-Hour Pledge Drive A-Go-Go as usual. They ll take the airwaves for sleep-deprived, punch-drunk, caffeine-supercharged fundraising from 6:00 p.m. Thursday, April 21st through 6:00 p.m. Friday, April 22nd. Please tune-in and support our station during this important fundraising effort. Our goal is $35, Thank you for your support! Many of us are getting that itch to get outdoors and enjoy warmer weather. Perhaps you are, too. If so, please don t forget to take KMSU along with you on your portable radio, or on your smartphone with the free Tune-In Radio app. Just download and search for KMSU Maverick. Some upcoming events to look forward to: The Jimmys are performing Saturday, April 23rd at the Austin VFW (300 4th Ave NE). Music 8:00 p.m. We will be shuttling Mankato area listener/fans on a coach bus for a nominal fee. This is in honor of Mark Halverson s 26 years as a volunteer Blues programmer on KMSU. We couldn t be more blessed than to have his great programs: Blues Before Monday and Blue Monday, on our station. And if the Blues bus isn t your thing, check our Shuffle Function s Grind-Fu Cinema event that same night in Wiecking Auditorium. Finally, the end of our Pledge Drive will also be the end of the spring semester at Minnesota State University.
