1 A quick guide to installing the SpesCoin Wallet for Windows and MacOS users SPESCOIN WALLET Installation Guide

2 HOW TO INSTALL THE SPESCOIN GUI WALLET SYSTEM REQUIREMENT: Ensure you have Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed on your computer. This can be downloaded here: Accept the License Agreement then download the relevant version for your operating system. Select the relevant Operating System. In our illustration below MacOS has been selected.

3 Install this software, and you are now ready to start with the download and installation of the SpesCoin GUI wallet. INSTALLING SPESCOIN GUI WALLET ON WINDOWS 1. Download the SpesCoin.jar file from specified location: 2. Go to your downloads folder (or the location where you downloaded the above file). 3. Right Click on the SpesCoin.jar file to bring up the file properties. Check the default Opens with is set to open with Java Platform SE. if not click on the Change button to set it to open with JAVA. Also check the Unblock to ensure file can run without problems Click on Apply and OK to save the settings.

4 4. Double click on the SpesCoin.jar to install the SpesCoin GUI wallet. Wait for this process to complete. It would take a few minutes. 5. When complete, you would be presented with this window. Use Import Wallet to import your SpesCoin.wallet file. To Import your wallet go to step 8. Select New wallet to create new GUI wallet. Choose a name for your wallet and a password.

5 6. Click on the OK button to proceed. 7. Next you would be present with your GUI wallet. Wait for the wallet to completely sync. Congratulations you have now completely installed your new SpesCoin GUI wallet

6 8. Importing your Simple wallet to the SpesCoin GUI wallet. Choose Import wallet. Navigate to the location of your simple wallet file (.wallet) and Select file.

7 Note your wallet file has been retrieved. Enter a password and click on the OK button. 9. Wait for the wallet to completely sync

8 10. Congratulations you have now sucessfully imported your simple wallet and should be able to see your balance and address details. INSTALLING SPESCOIN GUI WALLET ON MACOS Download the SpesCoin.jar file from specified location: 1. Go to Finder and locate the SpesCoin.jar file. 2. Highlight the SpesCoin.jar file then press Control on your keyboard. You will be presented with a sub-menu; select Get Info to bring up SpesCoin.jar info page. Check that Locked in NOT selected if selected please uncheck the box. Also confirm the

9 Open with: has Jar Launcher selected as default. Hold down Control and select Open to install the SpesCoin.jar file

10 OPTIONAL FOR THOSE WHO SKIPPED THE JAVA INSTALL AT THE START If you failed to install Java Runtime Environment (JRE) prior to this step you will be presented with this error message: Click on OK to proceed. Please skip this if you Installed Java Runtime Environment (JRE) previously - CONTINUE to step 3 Clicking OK will take you to the website download page. Select JRE Download Please skip this if you Installed Java Runtime Environment (JRE) previously

11 Choose the macos version and accept the license agreement. Download and install. Go back to the previous step (Open the SpesCoin.jar step) Please skip this if you Installed Java Runtime Environment (JRE) previously Double click to Install and continue from step 4. Please skip this if you Installed Java Runtime Environment (JRE) previously

12 3. The Control Open will launch the wallet screen. You would be presented this window below. Wait for the process to complete 4. When completed, you will be presented with this window. Select the New wallet to create new GUI wallet. Choose a name for your wallet and a password. To import a simple wallet please go to step 6

13 Click on OK button to continue: 5. Next you will be presented with your SpesCoin GUi wallet. Wait for the wallet to completely sync. Congratulations you have now completely installed your new SpesCoin GUI

14 6. To import your simple wallet to your Mac. Select Import wallet and navigate to the location of your SpesCoin.wallet file (you can save it on a USB) 7. Notice the wallet file name has been prepopulated with the file you selected in previous step. Enter your password click on OK

15 8. Wait for the wallet to completely sync 9. Congratulations, you have now completely imported your wallet. You should be able to see your balance and previous transactions.
