2 Make Sure to verify that you have the most current update of Digital Wrench installed. Minimum required Version 3.6 update 07/08/14 Go to: Polaris Dealers Website <> Service and Warranty menu <> Digital Wrench Updates

3 Select Digital Wrench Version (X.X) Updates and Install

4 Digital Wrench Main Page Make Sure to verify that you have the most current update of Digital Wrench installed. Minimum required Version 3.6 update 07/08/14 Make sure that you are using the correct USB adaptor cable available from Bosch Service Solutions Part Number PU USB SERIAL ADAPTER CABLE This USB to Serial Port adapter cable allows you to connect the SmartLink Module to the USB port on your Digital Wrench computer. This kit includes the adapter cable, software drivers, and instructions. Most other adaptor cables do not work properly across all models and functions. Connect Digital Wrench to the vehicle and turn the key to the ON position Select Correct Year, Product Line and Model

5 Select the Special Tests Menu

6 Special Tests Menu Select SPEED KEY OPTIONS from the menu. This will open the SpeedKey Feature Enable Procedure

7 SpeedKey Enable Procedure Select Continue in order to begin the process and to test the vehicle s current status

8 This Screen will show the vehicles current status. NOTE: If you have previously enabled the Speedkey and encountered an error during installation this screen may show that the speed key is ENABLED even if it is not functioning. In these cases select DISABLE and Contact Technical Parts for a new Speedkey calibration code. Have the units Vin information on hand and the original calibration code if available. Select Enable Speedkey Function to continue

9 Retrieving the Authorization Key This screen will generate an authorization request code that you will need to copy

10 Copy the code exactly as it appears on this screen. You may also highlight the code and hit Ctrl C to copy and paste

11 Log into the Polaris Dealers Website. Select the Service and Warranty Menu select the Reflash Authorization link from the menu

12 Enter the code from Digital Wrench into the Request Code field exactly as it was listed. You may also hit Ctrl V to paste the code if you copied it in the previous menu. Once you have entered the code select Continue

13 Complete the required fields Make sure that the pull down menu lists Speed Key Enable Enter the reflash certificate code that came with the speed key asm into the Calibration Card Number field Enter the VIN of the vehicle, Customer Name, Address and Zip code before selecting Authorize (Do not double click authorize)

15 Copy provided Authorization Key exactly as it is shown or highlight the code and hit CTRL C to copy and paste

16 Enter the code exactly as it appeared into the authorization Key field or hit Ctrl V to paste Select Continue

17 Digital Wrench will prompt you to move the gear shift lever to HIGH and turn the ignition key off

18 The Digital Wrench Screen will prompt you to unplug Digital Wrench from the diagnostic port, plug the speed key into the diagnostic port and reconnect Digital Wrench to the pass through diagnostic post coming from the speed key module. Turn the speed key to the left position Select Continue

19 Unplug Digital Wrench from the diagnostic port, plug the speed key into the diagnostic port and reconnect Digital Wrench to the pass through diagnostic post coming from the speed key module. Turn the speed key to the left position Select Continue

20 Turn the ignition key to the On position The Green LED on the speed key module should be ON

21 You should see the screen below showing a speed limit of 24 mph. If it is not double check the connections to the vehicle.

22 Verify that the LED on the speed key module is on and select YES

23 Turn the speed key switch to the right The Speed Key Feature Enable Procedure screen will change to show UNLIMITED

24 Speed Key Functionality is now installed the feature can be uninstalled at any time by following steps 1 6 of the instructions but selecting DISABLE SPEED KEY FUNCTION button. If the speed key is disabled for any reason a new calibration code will be required in order to re install. Please contact a Polaris Technical Parts associate in order to attain a new calibration code. Please have the VIN of the vehicle ready and details concerning the reason for the speed key to have been disabled.

25 Important Final Check Test Drive the vehicle to insure that the speed key is working properly before delivery to the customer. Turn off vehicle and unplug the speed key module from the vehicles diagnostic port. Start the vehicle and test drive. The Top speed of the vehicle should be limited to 10 mph. Turn off the vehicle and reconnect the speed key module to the diagnostic port. Put the speed key switch in the left position (turtle mode). Start the vehicle and drive. The top speed of the vehicle should be limited to 24 mph. Stop the vehicle and turn off. Set the speed key switch to the right hand position ( rabbit mode). Start the vehicle and test drive. The vehicle should operate normally with no artificial speed limit.
