3 PRINTING creating print jobs From your desktop, select to print your document to uniflow print queue. Based on your campus you will either see Follow-Me- EP or Follow-Me-BP as your primary queue name. This print queue has Black & White, duplex (2-sided) printing as the default. You can make changes as shown in the driver (i.e. dropdown for color print or duplex) or you can also change options at the printer. Page 1

4 LOGGING IN To begin, enter your StarID at any MFD printer. Use the keypad. Click on Login. If you have multiple cost center codes to choose from, you will see the screen below. Your default cost center will always be at the top and recently used cost codes will be listed next. You can also use the search options to search for a code using a partial cost center name search or a partial description department name search. If you want to use your default cost center, it is already chosen and you can just select Login to continue. Users with only one cost center will NOT see this screen. Page 2

5 PRINT JOBS Your first screen is the SECURE QUEUE. If you are at the Main Screen, select the SECURE PRINT button on the screen or at any time select Secure Print at the top right of any screen. This will bring up the secure print queue where you can review your print jobs. To print jobs, highlight the jobs you wish to print. Use Select All to select all jobs in the queue. Use the Print+Delete button to release the jobs and delete them from the queue. Note that jobs will remain in the queue for 72 hours. Using the Print+Keep option will reset the job and leave the job in the queue for an additional 10 hours select the Printed Jobs button to see jobs remaining in the queue. Page 3

6 Basic job changes can be accessed using the Options button. The OPTIONS button will allow you to make changes to any of the features listed on the left (duplex, color mode, stapling, etc.) Select the Paper Catalog to change paper size or type. Use the Bypass Tray for labels! Page 4

7 MAIN SCREEN The Main Screen provides access to Copy, send and the uniflow Secure Print queue. You can bring up the Main Screen at any time by selecting MAIN on the keypad. You can access COPY and SECURE PRINT at any time by selecting the appropriate button at the top of the screen. Page 5

8 COPYING You can access the COPY function by selecting Copy on the Main Screen. Select the COPY button to access the copy functions. Choose desired copy features Select FINISHING for Staple/collate/group. Select 2-SIDED to do 1 side to 2 sides OR 2 sides to 2 sides. SELECT COLOR to choose from B & W to Auto Color Select. Select OPTIONS to go to the Advanced Features (special features) for making booklets/adding covers/frame erase/page numbering/job build etc. Use FAVORITE SETTINGS to register commonly used copy features for future ease of use. Select to start copying. Page 6

9 SCANNING Select the SCAN AND SEND button from the Main Screen. Place your pages in the ADF or feeder, and select Scan to Myself. Select to start copying.. Page 7

10 WHAT DO I NEED TO DO? First Steps to Print: Contact HTC IT Services to install the new printer queue/driver if you don't see it. Once you have installed the printer, when printing to a new device select the Follow- Me-EP or Follow-Me-BP printer queue Use your StarID at any uniflow connected device to access and release your print To set your uniflow printer as the default printer on your PC, select o Start o Settings o Devices and Printers o Right click on the Follow-Me printer and select Set as Default Printer What do I do when... THE MACHINE WANTS PAPER (LOAD PAPER) BUT IT IS FULL If the machine asks for paper but the drawers are all full, o Select the STATUS MONITOR and wait 5 seconds to find out the issue o Some PDFs may not sense the paper size required so you just need to say OK to select the standard letter tray or desired tray. HOW CAN I? How do I... CHANGE OUTPUT FINISHING: I NEED COLOR OUTPUT BUT I PRINTED AS BLACK AND WHITE OR NEED 2-SIDED CHANGED TO 1-SIDED OR.. Note that you can change this information in the print driver before you print. The Follow-Me printer is set to default to Black&White 2-sided print but what if you NEED Color or 1-Sided o Highlight your job in the print queue o o Select the OPTIONS button at the bottom of the screen Here you can select 1-sided (Simplex) print Color print Staple Or change the quantity Page 8

11 USE SPECIAL PAPER: I NEED TO PRINT LABELS OR SPECIAL STOCK... When you job requires special paper, you will want to feed it into the manual bypass tray on the right of the printer. o In the Follow-Me-Printer, before sending the jobs, select PREFERENCES and go to the Paper Source tab o In the Paper Source section, select the Multipurpose Tray o Finish sending the job At the printer o Place your special stock face down in the bypass tray Follow the instructions on the panel to select the size (Letter) Select NEXT and indicate the paper TYPE (label, heavy stock) Select OK Badge In If you need to change to special paper, highlight the job and select OPTIONS. Use the PAPER CATALOG option to pull from the bypass tray. If you used the driver to select the bypass, highlight the job in the print queue and select PRINT AND KEEP or PRINT AND DELETE The printer will indicate it doesn t have the paper requested Select the STATUS MONITOR/CANCEL button to the LEFT of the panel Confirm that it is selecting paper from the bypass Select OK Page 9
