1 ParcelTools Feature Summary Product Description! " # $ % $ & ' ( ) * +, -, Supported Platforms ParcelTools is certified for PowerDraft, MicroStation 95, SE, /J, and V8. Parameter Settings The Parameters Dialog Box controls the parameters for the design file currently being worked on. All the parameter settings required are user definable including yield ranges. The ability to save all the settings to a parameter file means that another user can easily recall the exact parameters to insert or extract additional data, thus reducing repetition and providing a way to maintain corporate standards. 2 Calculate Lot Yields The Calculate Lot Yield tool produces a lot yield table containing the number of lots within the size ranges nominated and the percent for that range compared to the total. The program will also calculate the minimum, maximum and average lot size. Dimension Lots ParcelTools Dimension Lots enables the user to dimension all polygons within a fence that occur on a specified level. The program will place the area of the polygon at the centroid of the polygon and each segment of the boundary will be labelled with the length of that segment. This length will be placed at an offset calculated from the centre of the segment, on the inside of the polygon. The program can optionally generate and place sequential lot numbers. This tool has an option to dimension all polygons within a fence or an individual polygon. A flood option also allows the user to dimension using a flood option and to optionally create a polygon at the same time. Renumber Lots ParcelTools Renumber Lots enables the user to. renumber lots. This works by the operator nominating a start lot and the number to add or decrease any lot numbers by. IE any lot number greater than 99 reduce by 1 or lot numbers greater than 100 increment by 200. Label Line ParcelTools Label Line enables the user to annotate a line in the design file. The labelling can be done with any combination of length, and bearing. A terminator, leader line and frame can be used to isolate the label, or alternatively the label can be placed along the line. An optional prefix and suffix can also be added to the label. The format and symbology of the label is defined by the user. Page 2

3 Place Ticks ParcelTools Place Ticks enables the user to place ticks at a user specified distance along an element. The ticks can be generated dynamically along any linear element. The symbology for the ticks is defined by the user. Find Duplicate Lot Numbers ParcelTools Find Duplicate Lot Numbers enables the user to find and highlight any duplicate lot numbers. Validate Parcel Dimensions ParcelTools Validate Parcel Dimensions enables the user to find and highlight any parcels with no lot numbers and/or duplicate or no Area text and/or no boundary dimensions. Symbology Buttons The Label Line Symbology Button All tools that create elements in ParcelTools use standard Symbology Buttons. These buttons are usually black, and have two primary purposes: a) They act as preview windows to display the elements that the tool creates, using the symbology currently set for the tool. If the symbology displays the word Off, then the feature is not currently activated. Page 3

4 b) They allow the user to change the symbology for the feature by clicking on the button. This will open another window displaying the symbology (colour, weight, style, font, etc) set for the feature. Each symbology type has an associated toggle button to lock the value currently set. If the toggle is off, then the symbology (eg: colour) cannot be edited, instead it will be picked up from the active settings (as displayed in MicroStation s Primary toolbox). Shrink Buttons All of the commands in ParcelTools use the Tool Settings window. This is the window that is reused by most of MicroStation s commands (eg: Place Smartline). In order to conserve as much screen space as possible, some of the ParcelTools commands support Shrink buttons. These buttons are labelled with >> for Expand and << for Shrink, and appear at the bottom right corner of the Tool Settings dialog box. Pushing the shrink button ( >> ) for the first time will expand the Tool Settings dialog box to show more options. Once these options have been set, the Tool Settings window can then be shrunk by pushing the shrink button ( << ) again. Calculate Lot Yield The Calculate Lot Yield tool produces a lot yield table of a user defined appearance at a nominated point in the design file. This tool uses level and colour to define the text that is to be selected to be included in the yield table. These are set in the Area Text Symbology section of the tools settings dialog. The M button allows the Page 4

5 user to select an existing element to set the matching symbology. Once the lot size text has been identified the program will process all matching text elements within a fence and produce a table containing the number of lots within the size ranges nominated and the percent for that range compared to the total. The program will also calculate the minimum, maximum and average lot size. This table will hang on the cursor waiting for the operator to place within the design file.
