1 Made By: Richard Chang How to get Fix internet IP address for your computer Recommended free DDNS server websites: 1) In order to get the TR-101 GPRS information through internet, you must have a fix IP address for internet connection. 2) There are a few free DDNS service provider websites available: The top two website have a step by step guide for user of TR-101 to get a free DDNS service. A) B) The following doesn t have a step by step guide to user; however, they are also free of DDNS service. C) (ok) D) * E) * F) G) P.S. * in front of the URL means that you need to already own a domain name in order to get their free DDNS service. 3) Simply go to one of the URL mentioned above and do a register to that website, then download their DDNS program. They will provide you a fix internet IP. This user guide will also guide you through the steps to get DDNS service on the top two websites (A and B).

2 Getting free DDNS service from Step 1: The following screen is s main page when you enter their website: Click on No-IP Free (the circled part shown above), and then proceed to step 2.

3 Step 2: Click on SIGN UP NOW! (the circled part shown above), and then proceed to step 3.

4 Step 3: Start completing the information (Fields in BOLD: First Name, Last Name, Address, Password, Confirm Password, and How did you hear about us, are a must complete information if you want to apply the free service from No-IP.com). *Password must be 5 characters or more. Do not forget to select the I have read and agree to the following terms of service box (the top circled part shown above) click on SIGN UP NOW!, and then proceed to step 4.

5 Step 4: It will lead you to the following screen (if you fill in all the requirements): Now go to your (the account you registered to No-IP.com), then proceed to step 5.

6 Step 5: Find and click to open the No-IP Registration/Activation The inside detail should looks like this: Click on the URL which is below the description: To activate your account, please click the following URL (the circled part shown above), then proceed to step 6.

7 Step 6: After clicking the link, it should open another browser which says, Your account has been activated Please login (like the below picture): Click on login (the circled part shown above), then proceed to step 7.

8 Step 7: Type your user information in the and Password boxes. Then click on Login (like the circled part shown above), and then proceed to step 8.

9 Step 8: When you are login, click on DOWNLOADS (the circled part shown above), and then proceed to step 9.

10 Step 9: Depends on your operating system, every user may select differently. If you are a Windows user, click on Windows (the blue circled one shown above). If you are Mac user, click on Mac (the red circled one shown above). Otherwise, click on the green circled one shown above (Linux/BSD/Unix users). Then proceed to step 10. *This user menu will assume the user is a Windows user; however, all the procedure should be exactly the same but the display pictures.

11 Step 10: Now click on Download (the circled part shown above), then proceed to step 11.

12 Step 11: Now click on Download Now (the circled part shown above) to proceed to step 12.

13 Step 12: This screen will pop out after you click on Download Now from step 11: Click on Save (the circled part shown above) to save the file, and then proceed to step 13.

14 Step 13: It is recommended to save it on desk top for easy follow up. Click on Save to proceed to step 14.

15 Step 14: A ducsetup icon should appear on your desk top (that is as if you save it on your desktop; otherwise, go to where you save it to find the icon *.exe file) Now click on the icon to start installing. It will then open the following screen: Now click on Run (the circled part shown above) to proceed to step 15.

16 Step 15: *Make sure you are online (have internet connection ON) Click on Next (the circled part shown above), then proceed to step 16. Step 16: It is recommended to select the Add Program Group and the Launch No-IP DUC boxes (like the left hand circled part shown above), and then click on Next to proceed to step 17.

17 Step 17: Click on Finish (the circled part shown above), then proceed to step 18.

18 Step 18: The following screen will pop out after you click on Finish from step 17: Enter your Address and Password (the one you register to No-IP), then click on Ok (the circled part shown above) to proceed to step 19.

19 Step 19: The No-IP DUC v screen will pop out, which looks like the following screen: Click on Edit (the circled part shown above), then proceed to step 20.

20 Step 20: This screen will pop out after you click on Edit from step 19: Make sure the Address and Password are filling in, and then click on Ok (the circled part shown above) to proceed to step 21. Step 21: Now go back to and login (below screen is the one after you log-in): After you login, click on Add (the circled part shown above) to proceed to step 22.

21 Step 22: Type in any of your desire host name in the circled box shown above (a name you must be able remember it, recommendation will be in a format of FirstName-LastName). *Notice that on the step 22 s first example screen, there was , and you must delete it before processing to step 23 (like the circle shown above). Now click on Create Host (the circled part shown below) on the bottom of the page to proceed to step 23.

22 Step 23: It will lead you to this screen: It will then be shown like the above screen, telling you that you have successfully added a host. Now go back to the No-IP DUC v2.2.1 screen and continuing to step 24. *The screen below is the No-IP DUC v2.2.1 screen:

23 Step 24: On the upper part, do a right clicks with your mouse, and then it will pop out some options for you to choose (like the following screen) Then scroll your mouse to click on Refresh Host List (the circled part shown above). You might need to wait a few minutes before you get any resorts. Now proceed to step 25.

24 Step 25: The No-IP DUC v2.2.1 windows should looks like the following screen: A smiling face wearing sunglasses with the host name you create will appear to the top part under Hosts like the above screen (FirstName-LastName.no-ip.info). Now select the box in front of the face (left click to mark the box, which is the circled part shown above) then proceed to step 26.

25 Step 26: The face with sunglass will become a shy face after you click on the box in front of it, and now click on Options (the circled part shown above) to proceed to step 27.

26 Step 27: Select the Top two boxes Run on startup and Use alternate port (the top circled two boxes), then click Ok to finish. * Congratulations! You have complete DDNS setup from and you now have a Fix Internet IP. You can start getting the GPRS information from TR-101 to your computer software without any problems.

27 Getting free DDNS service from Step 1: The following screen is s main page when you enter their website: Click on Account (the circled part shown above), then proceed to step 2.

28 Step 2: On the left hand bar, click on Create Account (the circled part shown above), then proceed to step 3.

29 Step 3: First part to fill in will be Acceptable Use Policy: make sure you read it and then mark the two boxes next to I have read and agree to the Acceptable Use Policy above: and I understand that each Member may have only one (1) free account, and acknowledge that any creation of multiple free accounts will result in the termination of all of my accounts: (select the circled two boxes like the picture shown above). And then fill in your desire Username.

30 (Continuing on Step 3) After Username, an Address and your desired Password is also REQUIRED, create any of your desire Password; however, your Password must be 5 CHARACTERS OR MORE. *It is recommended to select the 3 circled boxes (see the above picture). It is easier for follow up what is going on with to see if they change the free account status or any related news. Then click on Create Account (the circled part above, which is located at the bottom right of the page). Then proceed to step 4.

31 Step 4: It will lead you to this screen: You will be jumping to this page after you click on Create Account. (This will happens only if you are successfully registered to DynDNS). Now go to your account for step 5.

32 Step 5: In your account, you should receive an looking like the following: Click to open the . The detail information of the should look like the screen above. Now, click on the URL link below To confirm your account, please go to the address below: (the circled part shown above), and then proceed to step 6.

33 Step 6: It will come to this screen after you click on the URL. Now click on login (the circled part shown above), and then proceed to step 7.

34 Step 7: Now enter your Username and Password in the respective boxes (the one you just applied), then click on Login (the circled part shown above) to proceed to step 8.

35 Step 8: The screen will show as: You are currently logged in as: (Your Username) Now click on My Services on the left hand bar (the circled part shown above) to proceed to step 9.

36 Step 9: Now click on Add Host Services on the right hand side of Host Level Services (the circled part shown above), and then proceed to step 10.

37 Step 10: Click on Add Dynamic DNS Host (the circled part shown above), then proceed to step 11.

38 Step 11: Enter your desired host name in the box next to Hostname: (the circled part shown above). Then click on the arrow next to the host name you enter to select to selfip.info (like the screen shown above). DO NOT deletes the IP that s already in the IP Address box. Click on Add Host (the circled part shown above) and then proceed to step 12.

39 Step 12: Now go back to the My service from (the screen shown below): *Notice that when you go to My Services, you can see a Hostname (Which you have just created) under the category of Host Level Services. Now click on Support (the circled part shown above) to proceed to step 13.

40 Step 13: It will direct you to the following screen: Now click on Download Update Clients (the circled part shown above) under the Client Support to proceed to step 14.

41 Step 14: It will direct you to the following screen: Now click on the DynDNS Updater (the circled part shown above), then proceed to step 15.

42 Step 15: It will direct you to the following screen: Now click on Download Now (the circled part shown above), then proceed to step 16.

43 Step 16: It will open the following window: Now click on Save (the circled part shown above) to proceed to step 17.

44 Step 17: It is recommended to save it on desktop for easier follow up. Click on Save to proceed to step 18.

45 Step 18: An icon looks like this should appear on your desktop after downloading (that is as if you save it on your desktop; otherwise, go to where you save it to find the icon). Now click on the icon It will open the following screen: Click on Setup (the circled one shown above), then proceed to step 19.

46 Step 19: After you click on Setup the following screen will pops out: Click on Extract All (the circled part shown above). Then proceed to step 20. Step 20: Click on Next (the circled part shown above), then proceed to step 21.

47 Step 21: Click on Next (the circled part shown above), then proceed to step 22. Step 22: Click on Finish (the circled part shown above), then proceed to step 23.

48 Step 23: It will then open a window which looks like the following screen: Now click on Setup icon (the circled one shown above) to proceed to step 24.

49 Step 24: The following screen will pop out: Click on Run (the circled part shown above), then proceed to step 25. Step 25: Click on Next (the circled part shown above), then proceed to step 26.

50 Step 26: Read the License Agreement and then switch the selection from I do not accept the agreement to I accept the agreement (like the circled part shown above). Then click on Next to proceed to step 27.

51 Step 27: It will then lead you to the following screen: Click on Next (the circled part shown above), then proceed to step 28.

52 Step 28: Click on Next (the circled part shown above), then proceed to step 29.

53 Step 29: Now click on Install (the circled part shown above) to start installing the DynDNS Updater, and then proceed to step 30.

54 Step 30: *It is recommended for you to select the top box which states Launch DynDNS Updater (like the circled part shown above). It is much easier for follow up for step 31. Now click on Finish to continue to step 31.

55 Step 31: After you select Launch DynDNS Updater box and click on Finish, it will lead you to the following screen: Now click on Next (the circled part shown above) to proceed to step 32.

56 Step 32: Make sure you select the top Dial-up box. Now click on Next to proceed to step 33.

57 Step 33: Enter DynDNS s Username, Password, and Confirm (Password again) then click on Next (the circled part shown above) to proceed to step 34. *DO NOT select the Dial when no connection is detected; however, make sure you are able to get online (have internet connection).

58 Step 34: Enter the Host name you apply to (Step 9-12) (like the example: xxxx.selfip.info in the above circled box), then click on Next to proceed to step 35. If you forgot your hostname already, you can always login to and then go to My Service. Your host name is under the category of Host Level Service (the one you apply from step 8 to step 11).

59 Step 35: Enter your Username, Password, and Confirm Password (the one you apply to in the 3 boxes respectively. Then click on Next (the circled part shown above) to proceed to step 36.

60 Step 36: Select the bottom one No, I will enter it manually (like the screen shown above), then click on Next to proceed to step 37.

61 Step 37: Click on Add (the circled part shown above), and the following screen will pop out: In the Hostname box, enter the hostname you apply from then click on OK (the circled part shown above). Now proceed to step 38.

62 Step 38: It will lead you back to the following screen which is the same screen of step 37 s first screen: *Notice that under Hostname, you have successfully added a hostname which you apply from Now select the host name you just added (like the circle part shown above), and then click on Next to proceed to step 39.

63 Step 39: Make sure the box in front of Enable automatic update (recommended) is selected (which it will be selected originally; however, if not, do so). Then click on Next to proceed to step 40.

64 Step 40: Now click on Finish (the circled part shown above) and complete the Free DDNS from * Congratulations! You have complete DDNS setup from and you now have a Fix Internet IP. You can start getting the GPRS information from TR-101 to your computer software without any problems.
