1 Las Vegas, Nevada, December 3 6, 2002 Speaker Name: Heidi Hewett Course Title: Course ID: GD34-4L Course Outline: During this presentation, you'll learn about all the AutoCAD 2002 extensions, including the Autodesk Product Manager, Reference Manager, and Associative QDIM Extensions. If you're already a member of the Autodesk subscription program, you'll benefit by learning how to find and use the tools that come with your subscription. If you are not yet a subscription member, this presentation will give you a preview of the tools available only through the subscription program.

2 Introduction Autodesk Extensions are modular enhancements to Autodesk software, available only through the Autodesk Subscription Program. An extension delivers new functionality to your desktop via download from the Web. It s easy, it s direct, and you can get it when it best suits your design needs. Extensions mean you benefit from: Added software functionality at no additional cost Extensions are included in your annual Subscription fee. Immediate access to the latest design tools. Ease of learning They re single tools, not widespread changes to the whole product. Full compatibility with your current software. An e-course with most extensions. CAD Manager s Extension Tracking and deploying multiple software products can be a real headache for CAD and IT managers: there are a variety of programs, service packs, and plug-ins to deal with, not to mention version, serial, and PC numbers. Now with the CAD Manager s Extension, managing your software assets just got a whole lot easier. The CAD Manager s Extension is a modular software enhancement for AutoCAD 2002 and the industry-specific applications built upon AutoCAD software. Available through the Autodesk Subscription Program, the CAD Manager s Extension includes two tools: the Installation Script Generator and the Autodesk Product Manager. Installation Script Generator This feature takes advantage of the Microsoft scripting language already built into the Windows operating system. Use it to quickly and easily deploy multiple licenses of Autodesk extensions across your entire network. Installation occurs in the background, so there s no disruption to current work. Exercise 1: Using the Installation Script Generator Wizard 1. From the Start menu, choose Programs>Autodesk CAD Manager Tools>Installation Script Wizard. 2. In the Installation Script Generator Wizard, on the Begin page, choose Next. 3. On the Create New Script page: In Name, enter Digital Signature Extension.
