4 INTRODUCTION The Smart-Sense Room Control free application is an easy-to-use and intuitive, tool used to manage temperature, occupancy, fan speed, lighting and sunblinds in your office, without leaving your workstation. It provides full remote access to your room settings in any circumstances for enhanced flexibility and convenient management. The Smart-Sense Room Control application presents an optimized interface for an immediate remote control of each comfort parameter as well as instant access to one of the four predefined scene configurations. These integrated scenes can be easily assigned to recall specific settings depending on the type of room or office space. Figure 1: Smart-Sense Room Control Application 4 Smart-Sense Room Control

5 Home Screen Introduction The Home screen for the Smart-Sense Room Control application consists of icons to clearly display information and allow easy access to the different menus and options. All menus are accessed by tapping the corresponding icon on the mobile device screen. 7 Main Menus MAIN MENUS This section explains the Smart Sense Room Control main menus: fan speed, lighting, sunblinds, and temperature setpoints. Some of the menu icons shown below might not be available depending on the building manager s preferences. In such a case, contact your building manager for more information. Fan Speed The Fan Speed menu is used to control the fan speed settings. 1. Tap the Fan Speed icon. The Fan Speed menu is displayed: Figure 3: The Fan Speed Menu Screen 2. Set the fan to the desired speed: Off, 1, 2, or 3 or to the automatic setting (Auto) which adjusts the fan speed according to the gap between ambient and desired temperature. The selected settings are saved until the next modification. Smart-Sense Room Control 7

8 Main Menus Lighting The Lighting menu is used to control the lights and the available lighting groups. 1. Tap the Lighting icon. The Lighting menu is displayed: Figure 4: The Lighting Menu Screen 2. Tap the icon(s) of the lighting group(s) that you wish to set. You can select as many groups as you want simultaneously. Selected lighting groups are shown colored while inactive ones are grayed out. 3. Tap the Light Up/Down arrows to switch the lights on or off. 4. If you use dimming lighting, tap and hold the Light Up/Down arrows to gradually increase/decrease the luminosity. The selected settings are saved until the next modification. 8 Smart-Sense Room Control

9 Sunblinds Main Menus The Sunblinds menu allows you to separately adjust the height and rotation of each group of sunblinds (up to 8 groups depending on the configuration) and control the rotation of the sunblind strips. 1. Tap the Sunblind icon. The Sunblind menu is displayed: Figure 5: The Sunblinds Menu Screen 2. Tap the icon(s) of the sunblind group(s) that you wish to set. You can select as many groups as you want simultaneously. Selected sunblind groups are shown colored while inactive ones are grayed out. 3. Tap the Sunblind Up/Down arrows to gradually bring up or down the sunblind. Tap the arrows again to stop the action otherwise it will stop only once the sunblinds are completely up or down. 4. Tap the Rotation arrow to rotate the sunblinds. Holding down the Rotation icon will make the sunblind strips rotate until you release the icon. If you do it again, then the strips will rotate backwards. The selected settings are saved until the next modification. Smart-Sense Room Control 9

10 Main Menus Setpoint The Setpoint menu is used to adjust the temperature setpoint. 1. Tap the Setpoint icon. The Setpoint menu is displayed: Figure 6: The Setpoint Menu Screen 2. Tap the Setpoint Up/Down arrows to increase or decrease the current temperature (+/- 6 from the predefined setpoint). The selected settings are saved until the next modification. The midpoint corresponds to the temperature setpoint defined by the building manager. 10 Smart-Sense Room Control

11 Room Selection ROOM SELECTION The Smart-Sense Room Control mobile application can control several rooms independently. 1. Tap the Rooms icon to access the Room selection menu. Figure 7: The Room Selection Menu 2. Select the room to be managed. Smart-Sense Room Control 11

12 Scenes SCENES The Smart-Sense Room Control application can store up to four different scenes that are used to easily recall your favorite comfort parameter settings. Parameters controlled by the scene appear colored while the others are grayed out. Figure 8: The Scene Activation Screen A scene can control all of the following comfort parameters. 13 Scene Setting Menu Scenes To access each scene menu, press and hold the corresponding scene icon. A scene icon does not appear if its associated scene is disabled. Nevertheless, you can still enter this scene menu by pressing the icon position. The different controlled parameters and their possible associated settings are shown hereunder. Enable/disable scene Displays / hides matching scene icon on the Home Screen Set scene name Tap the matching cell to set the room occupancy status for this scene Tap the matching cell to select the fan speed setting for this scene Tap to set light group 1 as ON for this scene Tap to set light group 2 as OFF for this scene Tap to disable light group 3 management by the application Tap to set sunblind group 1 as open for this scene Tap to set sunblind group 2 as closed for this scene Tap to disable sunblind group 3 management by the application Scroll to select the temperature offset setting for this scene Figure 9: Scene Setting Menu Smart-Sense Room Control 13

14 Troubleshooting TROUBLESHOOTING The following icons may appear indicating certain configuration or connectivity issues: Icon Problem Connectivity problem. Check the connection with your network. If the issue persists, contact your building manager. A warning sign on the top-right of icons, meaning the application cannot receive the related information. May also signal configuration problems. In that case, please contact your building manager. A red cross on the top-right part of the screen, meaning that the application encountered non-critical errors. May also signal configuration problems. In that case, please contact your building manager. 14 Smart-Sense Room Control
