3 1. Concept a. Personal Code: the code of guest to lock and unlock safe. b. Master Code: code for override unlocking by hotel manager when guest forgot the personal code. c. Series Number: each safe and handheld device has series number, the series number of safe must same as handheld device if override unlock safe by handheld device. d. Handhelt unit: the equipment, HHD, to unlock safe when guest forget personal code. We strongly recommend to override safe with handheld device first, then master code and the last is emergency key. e. Emergency key: mechanical key to unlock safe when personal code, master code and handheld device could not work. f. Record: safe can store 100 times of the information of when and how to lock/unlock. 2. How to set Master Code and Personal Code of the safe 1) Set Master Code Master code was set to inactive for default, only HHD can active master code. a) To change master code, safe must be unlocked (that is, the bolts are retracted). b) Press key CLEAR twice, the display shows PROG, enter old master code (default ) and press LOCK, display shows NEW, enter a new master code of 6 digits and press LOCK. The display will show AGAIN, c) Re inter the new master code, the display will show DONE indicates new master code changed successfully. 2) Set Personal Code Personal code could be set when locking safe every time. a) Close safe door, input 4 6 digit code and press LOCK, the new personal code was set and safe has to be unlock with the new personal code. 3. How to lock and unlock the safe with Personal Code 1) Lock safe with Personal Code a) Close safe door, input 4 6 digit code and press LOCK. Display will show CLOSE and the door will be locked automatically. Caution: If the door is not shut properly, the display will show ERROR2 and the bolts are retracted automatically. Remove the barrier and try again. 2) Unlock safe with Personal Code a) Enter same personal code, the door will open automatically, display will show OPEN. Caution: a) Display will show ERROR when wrong code inputs. b) To replace the code with when operation, please press 0 #. This set is valid only for current operation. 2

How to Set Series Number 1) Set series number of safe a) Unlock the safe and make sure the bolts are retracted, connect the HHD to safe with USB link. b) Input 9999 and press * then press key 3, HHD will show OLD. c) Input old serial number in HHD, and press #, HHD display will show NEW d) Input new 6 digit serial number and press # in HHD, the safe will show the new series number means setting series number in safe is done. 2) Set series number of handheld device a) Double press *, HHD will show PROG. b) Input 9999 and press * then press key 5, HHD will show NEU. c) Input new 6 digit series number, HHD will show AGAIN, input again new series number, HHD will show DONE means series number set ok. 5. How to set Room Number of safe a) Double press * in HHD, display show PROG b) Input 9999*6, HHD will show NO, input 6 digit room number and press #, HHD will show DONE means room number set ok. Please fill with 0 in the front of room number if less than 6 digits. 6. How to set Date and Time Please set the date and time of HHD before connect to a safe! 5.1 set the date and time of HHD a) Double press * in HHD, display will show PROG b) Input 9999 and press * then press key 1, HHD will show current date, input correct date (dd mm yy) and press #, HHD will show current time, input correct time (hh mm ss) and press # to finish. 5.2 set the date and time of safe a) Connect HHD with safe. b) Double press * in HHD, display show PROG c) Input 9999 and press * then press key 2, HHD will show date then time and DONE means set ok. 7. Override procedures 1) To unlock the safe with Handheld device a) Input the manager code then press # in HHD. b) The word GOOD will appear on the screen of HHD. Now the HHD is programmed and ready for entering the opening code. c) Connect the HHD with the safe, input the opening code and press #, the safe will be unlocked. HHD has 12 manager code and only one opening code. The default manager code and opening code: 3

5 XX Manager code Opening Code 1188 To reset manager code and opening code (1) Double press * in HHD, display show PROG (2) Input , HHD will show RESET, the manager code and opening code will be reset. The series number of HHD will be reset to Caution: Only when the series number of safe and HHD are same could HHD open the safe. Please modify the series number after reset the manager code. 2) To unlock the safe with Master Code a) Enter correct master code in safe, the door will open automatically and display will show OPEN. 3) To unlock the safe with Emergency Key (a) (b) (c) Insert the shorter key to the bottom of panel. Push the key and lift the key cover in the front of panel. Insert the emergency key and turn clockwise 90 0 to open the door. (i) If safe has battery, display will show NANUAL, then keep door open turn the key anticlockwise 90 0 and press LOCK to retract the bolts. Please set new code before lock safe. (ii) If safe has no battery, please change with new battery and set code, date and time before lock the safe. This unlock record will not be remembered in safe. (a) (b) (c) 8. Audit Functions 1) Download Data from Safe to Handheld device a) Connect the HHD with the safe, double press *, HHD show PROG b) Input 9999*8, HHD will show SAVE xx, xx is the number of safe readed. c) Press #, HHD show READ 001 HHD will show SAVEXX then END. Caution: Handheld device could read 20 safes records. 2) Download Data from Handheld device to Computer a) Connect the HHD with computer, run the software (default password is ). Computer will find the HHD automatically, please press any key if display of HHD do not show CON. b) Press Read Records in the left of software window and following the sequence in the right of 4

6 software window to read records from HHD. 9. Programming Instructions 1) Handheld device Manager Code a) Double press * in HHD, the display of HHD show PROG. b) Input * + XX (XX is from 01 to 12), display will show OLD, input old manager code and press #, display show NEU XX. c) Input 4 digit new manager code and press #, HHD show AGAIN d) Input new manager code again and press #, HHD show DONE. Caution: Hotel must make a list of manager code sequence and the person responsible for each manager code. 2) Handheld device Opening Code HHD only has one opening code. a) Double press * in HHD, HHD display will show PROG. b) Input * + 01, display will show OLD, input old opening code and key press #, display will show NEU. c) Input 4 digit new opening code and press #, HHD show AGAIN d) Input new opening code again and press #, HHD show DONE. 3) Safe Parameters Unlock the safe and make sure the bolts are retracted. Press key * twice quickly, the screen will appear PROG, Enter programming code , and the screen will be ready for setting program codes of the safe. Three displays for program code setting are available, as explained below: a) First screen default number is , to change the number, user needs to input from 1 st number till the one needs to be changed. For example, to change to , user must input then press LOCK (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) (1) Code display position: Tap 0 do not show each personal code entered Tap 1 show each personal code entered and when locked Tap 2 show each personal code entered, the code won t show when locked (2) Setting number of digits for code Tap 4 set the 4 digit code Tap 5 set the 5 digit code Tap 6 set the 6 digit code Tap 7 set the 4 6 digit code (3) Setting locking time for error data input for 4 times Tap 0 locking time 0 minutes Tap 1 locking time 3 minutes 5

7 Tap 2 locking time 15 minutes (4) Setting master code Tap 0 master code disenabled Tap 1 master code enabled (5) Recording information Tap 1 record door opening information Tap 2 record door opening/closing information (6) Setting working mode Tap 0 User will enter a personal code and then press the locking key LOCK to lock the door. The safe will save the code at the last closing. User will need only press LOCK to close the door next time. Change code: While the door is unlocked, input new code and press LOCK, the new personal code will be the last code which locked the safe. Tap 1 The user must enter his personal code and then press LOCK to lock the safe every time, this function is suitable for hotel. b) Press LOCK will show second screen: Date Press the confirmation key LOCK, and the system will proceed to second screen to for setting of current date: dd/mm/yy (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) d d m m y y This indicates the current date is March 17, c) Press LOCK will show third screen: Time Press the confirmation key LOCK, and the system will proceed to third screen to for setting of current time: h/m/s (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) h h m m s s This indicates the current time is 13:35:47. Press confirmation key LOCK, and the system will exit the programming mode. 10. Trouble Shooting Guide 1) ERROR Code shows on the display a) ERROR The code you have entered is not correct when unlocking or the code is not the number of digits required according the Safe Parameters setting when locking. Solution: check the code and re enter. b) ERROR 1 The locking bolts are blocked and cannot retract. Solution: push the door inward to release the blocked bolts. Try to open the safe by 6

8 re entering the code. c) ERROR 2 The door is not shut properly and the bolts have been retracted automatically. Solution: Remove the barrier and try it again. 2) Battery Condition BA HI/LO (Battery high/low ) The display will show BA LO if the batteries need to be replaced. Use 4 AA / LR6 alkaline batteries only. 7
