4 STARTING THE QUTEWATCH SYSTEM On your Windows desktop screen, you will see the following icon With your mouse, move your mouse pointer (cursor) on the screen on top of this icon. Use your left mouse button on the mouse and double click on this icon. The following screen will appear: Block 1 Block 2 Block 1 User ID Block 2 Password Button to log out of the system 1. On your keyboard, type in your User Id which was provided by your supervisor. Press your enter key on the keyboard only once. 2. On your keyboard, type in your Password and press the enter key on your keyboard twice.

5 MAIN SCREEN Move your mouse pointer (cursor) to the Control Monitor button and click with your left mouse button on the Control Monitor button only once. You will now be logged into the QuTeWatch system and will be able to start with your call loggings and receiving alarms or events.

6 CONTROL MONITOR SCREEN To star t using the QuTeWatch system, you need to understand all the fields on this screen. This screen in called the Active Calls screen and gives a list of all the alarms received. This block is commonly referred to as the Stack of alarms to be attended to. You will see there are different colours in this block. The colours are set out as follow: Site Id Column (Left column) Flickering red and yellow shows multiple activation on your alarm or events. Red means there is an alarm displayed in the stack that no action has been taken on yet. Green means that some action has been taken already. Yellow means someone is busy working on the alarm, check before any actions are taken. Co Column (Middle column) This column is only applicable when call locking is on and multiple workstations are used. White means normal. All operators can see the call. Red indicates that the call is locked and not shown on other operators screens. Event Description colour coding (Right column) White Lime Yellow Red Purple Aqua - call is on the screen less that 5 minutes - call between 5-10 minutes on the stack - call between minutes on the stack - call between minutes on the stack - call more than 20 minutes on the stack - call has been locked for dispatch

7 Call Details (If this block is red - multiple activation of same alarm type has been received for the specific premises) OB Ref Nr - Reference number created by system when alarm is received Date/Time - Date and time alarm was activated Code - Code of alarm that was received Description - Description of code that was received Controller - Type of controller used CSID - Senders radio of panel identity number Operator - Operator logged into the base system at the time of the call. Zone - Indicates the location that was activated (if available) Key Nr - Name and numbers of registered key holders. Account Info Account No - Client s account number Tel - Telephone number of a client Key Code - Code or telephone number of a specific client.

8 Installation Site This field contains all the necessary information when an alarm was received. Type - Business or residential Code - Password Contact - Person to be contacted when alarm was activated Reactor/Alt - Response car that was dispatched Call - Response cars send to site Suburb - Area where alarm is installed on a site Site - Telephone number Cell - Cell phone number if no answer at telephone number Reaction Add - Address where alarm was installed or activated Actions Date Time - Specifies the date and time actions were taken Action - Type of actions taken Remarks - More actions taken (if available) Reference - Will display if typed in Code Buttons (All the code buttons are preset by your supervisor and will be explained later in the chapter.) The following buttons (called a toolbar) will be used when Call To remove a call or alarm from the stack when all the necessary action was taken. Site Info Displays additional information about the site and alarm received. Remote Call This button is used when a client calls to the control room to report an alarm. Action Note To type in any additional information needed for the alarm Hide To return to the Main Screen.

9 How to log a manual/remote call At the bottom of your screen, inside the toolbar is a Remote Call button. Move your mouse cursor to the Remote Call button and click with your left mouse button only once on this button. The following ( Remote Call) screen will appear: In Block 1" type on your keyboard the numeric code of the site id. If the client does not know the site Block 1 Block 2 Contact details where alarm is installed Type of event Person who phoned Telephone number id, move your mouse cursor to Block 2" and type on your keyboard the first three characters of the site name. A list of names starting with the first three characters will appear. Move your mouse cursor to the desired name and click with your left mouse button on the name. On the left-hand side of the Remote Call screen the Site Details will appear. Confirm with the caller that this information is correct. Underneath Site Details is Call Details. Move your mouse cursor to the tiny arrow next to the blue field. Click on this arrow and a drop down menu will appear. Use your arrows up or down to select the desired remote call. Move your mouse cursor to the desired remote call and click with your left mouse button on the call. The call will now be displayed inside the blue block. Move your mouse cursor to Caller Id and click with your left mouse button inside the open field next to Call Site Event. Type on your keyboard the callers name. Move your mouse cursor to Caller Ref and click with your left mouse button inside the open field next to Caller Id. Type on your keyboard the callers telephone number. In the bottom right corner of this screen are two buttons. Cancel is to cancel the call and Confirm is to confirm the remote call. Move your mouse cursor to the Confirm button and click with your left mouse button only once. (This screen has now disappeared) NOTE : Your remote call has now been logged. You will find the remote call in your stack under Active Calls!

10 How to book actions to a call There are two ways to book actions to a call or event. Firstly you need to make sure that you are busy with the correct call or event. To do this, check if the call or event you are working on is highlighted in blue in your stack. Move your mouse cursor to the open field in your Actions field as indicated on the picture. Double click with your left mouse button on this open field. A pop up menu will appear in the middle of the screen. Move your mouse cursor to the tiny arrow next to the open block. Click with your left mouse button only once on this arrow. A drop down menu will appear under the open block. Move your mouse cursor to the up and down arrows (we call this a scroll bar) and click with your left mouse button only once on these arrows. When the desired action was found move your mouse cursor to this action and click with your left mouse button only once on the desired action. The action will now be displayed inside the empty block. Move your mouse cursor to the Select or Cancel button. Click with your left mouse button only once on the Select button. Your action has now been added to the Actions list. Make sure the action in listed in your Actions field, if not, repeat the steps above. Secondly, there are codes, Code 1", Code 3" etc. If your move your mouse cursor on top of these buttons (without clicking on it) a tiny pop up screen will indicate what the button is used for. This pop up menu only appears for a couple of second. Move your mouse cursor over all the buttons to see the description of each button. When the desired action was found, click with your left mouse button on the code button only once. The action will now be displayed in your Actions field. NOTE: Block 1" and Block 2" can be used for any additional information that is not specified on the system. Remember these two blocks must be filled in before the action was selected.

11 How to dispatch a call or event There are two ways to dispatch an alarm or event. Firstly, on the right-hand side of your Installation Site is a tiny button with a red car on it. This is your dispatch button. Move your mouse cursor on top op this button and click with your left mouse button only once on this button. A pop up screen will appear in the middle of the screen, asking Ok to Add to Dispatch monitoring? Move your mouse cursor to the Yes button and click with your left mouse button only once. In your Actions field your action to dispatch will be displayed with the time and date of dispatch. Secondly, move your mouse button over the code buttons and click with your left mouse button only once on the code that pops up with Dispatch Armed Response. Your action will be displayed in the Actions field with the time and date of dispatch. (This is a shortcut, and will only work if code buttons are preset by your supervisor) Now to dispatch an armed response vehicle. Move your mouse cursor to the block next to the Reactor/Alt button. Using your left mouse button, double click on this block. A pop up menu Select Reaction Unit will appear. Move your mouse cursor to the desired armed response vehicle and click with your left mouse button only once on the armed response vehicle. Move your mouse cursor to the Select or Cancel button and click with your left mouse button only once on the Select button. Your armed response vehicle has now been dispatched. NOTE: There is a difference to dispatch a call or event and to dispatch an armed response vehicle. See the Actions field, the actions taken will not be the same. Always dispatch a call, before your dispatch an armed response vehicle.

12 How to dispatch an armed response vehicle Move your mouse cursor to the top of the page. Click with your left mouse button only once on the Dispatch folder. You are now on the dispatch screen. All calls or events that were dispatched will be displayed on this screen. Move your mouse cursor to the right and click with your left mouse button only once inside the empty block under Task Reaction Unit. A drop down menu will appear. Move your mouse to the desired armed response vehicle and click with your left mouse button only once on the vehicle. The desired vehicle will now be displayed inside the empty box. Move your mouse cursor to the Dispatch button underneath the block with your armed response vehicle in it. Click with your left mouse button only once on the Dispatch button. Your call or event has been dispatched to an armed response vehicle. See action in your Actions field.

13 Removing a call from Stack on completion After all the actions have been taken on the call or event, we need to remove the call from the Stack. Move your mouse cursor to the bottom middle of the screen on your toolbar. Click with your left mouse button only once on the Call button. This is your call button. When you have clicked with your left mouse button only once on this button, a pop up screen will appear asking Are you sure to remove this Call?. If you are sure all, your actions have been taken, click with your left mouse button only once on the Yes button. Again, another pop up screen will appear with the name Revise Call Response Type. Move your mouse cursor to the little arrow next to the blue block and click with your left mouse button only once. A drop down menu will appear, move your mouse cursor to the desired action and click with your left mouse button only once on the action. The desired action will now be displayed inside the blue block. Move your mouse cursor to the Select or Cancel buttons and click with your left mouse button only once on the Select button. Your call or event has now been removed from the Stack NOTE: Do not remove the call from the Stack if no actions were taken. All the actions must be taken to have a good description on reports that are printed for the clients.

14 SITE INFO SCREEN Info Page On your Actions on the bottom is a toolbar with buttons. Move your mouse cursor to the Site Info Site Detail field Site Setup field Alerts Set field Key Holder List field Forward and backwards buttons Stamp Alt Info button Toolbar buttons button and click with your left mouse button on the Site Info button. This is your Site Info button. your Stack. The Site Info Edit will appear. This page will appear of the client who is highlighted in SITE DETAIL Client no : This number is assigned by QTW and cannot be changed Acc : Account number of the client where alarm is installed Site Id : Id dedicated to the site where alarm is installed Service : Type of service required on site Contact details of client where alarm is installed, Name, Contact, Address, Code, Tel no, Suburb, Cell nr, Town etc. Status A : Shows active clients Date : First date the site was created on the computer Last Edit : Person, time and date of last client information edit Alt Contact Info : Alternative contact number in case client could not be reached. The arrow button on the left bottom of the screen can be used to scroll through the clients. Just move your mouse cursor to the buttons and click with your left mouse button only once on the arrows. The first arrow will jump to the first client. The second arrow will jump to the next client. The third arrow will jump to the next client and the fourth arrow will jump to the last client.

15 Site Setup Call Identities Controllers : Type of controller used on the site where alarm is installed Call Id : The same as the site id Ev List : Add : Click with your left mouse button on this button to add call identities. Change : Click with your left mouse button on this button to change call identities. Alerts Set Alerts : Type of alerts set on alarms. Key holder list K eynr : Number of key holders Key Holders Name: Names of key holders Code : The client s password Password/Tel no : Telephone numbers or passwords Last Modified : Name, date and time of person who last modified the key holders lists. Add : Click with your left mouse button on this button to add a key holder. Change : Click with your left mouse button on this button to change a key holder.

16 Client list On the bottom on the screen are two Client buttons. Move your mouse cursor to the first button and click with your left mouse button only once on this button. This is your first client button. The following screen will appear. This screen will only be used to link one client with another. Linked means that the information about the alarm will not be changed only the clients name, surname and account will be linked. It is advised not to use this function and should only be used by your supervisor. This is your second client button M ove your mouse cursor to this button and click with your left mouse button only once on this button. The following screen will appear. This is a list of all the sites that was linked to the clients alarm or event.

17 Search all page Move your mouse to the left top corner of the Site Info Edit screen. Click with your left mouse button only once on the Search All tab. The following screen will appear. Move your mouse to the desired empty block and click with your left mouse button only once inside the block. Now type on your keyboard the first three characters of the Site Id No, Client No etc. The information you were looking for will be highlighted in blue. At the bottom middle of the screen are Radio buttons which you can choose to narrow your search. To select these Radio buttons, move your mouse cursor to the open circle to the desired function and click with your left mouse button only once in the circle. You will see the black dot has moved to your desired function.

18 Site Print In your left bottom corner of the screen is a Site List button. Move your mouse cursor to this button and click with your left mouse button only once on this button. This is your Site List print button. The following screen will appear. Print button Printer setup Close button Your complete list of all the clients on your system will appear. At the bottom is a Print button. Move your mouse cursor to this button and click with your left mouse button only once on this button. Your selected list will now print. Next to your Print button is your printer setup button. To change your printer setup, you need to move your mouse cursor on top of this button and click only your left mouse button once. Next to your printer setup button is your Close button. To close this window, move your mouse cursor to this button and click only once with your left mouse button.

19 Extended Search On the bottom of your Site Search screen is a button Extended Searches. Move your mouse cursor to this button and click with your left mouse button only once. This is your Extended Search button. The following screen will appear. Move your mouse cursor to the first open block and click with your left mouse button only once inside this block. Type the first three characters of the name you are searching for. Move your mouse to the desired button and click only once with your left mouse button to search. If you type on your keyboard the first three characters and the information could not be found, you may use the following keys: EXAMPLE EXAMPLE Type the % key after or before the characters, the system will search for all the words that has LE letters in it. Type the _ key after or before the characters, the system will search for only one character after or before the word.

20 Vehicle Search Under the Search All tab there is a Vehicle Search tab. Move your mouse cursor to this tab and click only once with you left mouse button on this tab. The following screen will appear. Blocks to search vehicles Date search Type on your keyboard the first three characters to search for the necessary information on the vehicle you are searching for. You can also search a vehicle by using the date. Next to the open blocks, at the end of those blocks there is a small button with a date on it. This is how the date button is displayed on the system. Move your mouse cursor to this button and click with your left mouse button only once on this button. A pop-up block will appear. Move your mouse cursor to the desired date and click only once on the date with your left mouse button. The date will now be displayed inside the open block next to the date button and your vehicle will also be displayed.

21 Controllers Under the Search All tab there is a Controllers tab. Move your mouse cursor to this tab and click only once with you left mouse button on the Controllers tab. The following screen will appear: Move your mouse to the arrow button under Select Controllers and click with your left mouse button on this arrow. A drop down menu will appear. Move your mouse cursor to the desired controller (base station) and click with your left mouse button only once on the controller. A list of all the clients using the specific controller will appear in the right-hand block of your screen. To print this list move your mouse cursor to the Site List button and click with your left mouse button only once on this button. A Print Re-preview will appear. On the bottom is your Print button. Click with your left mouse button only once on the Print button. The list will now print. Move your mouse cursor to the Close button and click only once with your left mouse button on the Close button. A pop up screen will appear informing you that the list is printed. Move your mouse cursor to the Ok button and click only once with your left mouse button.

22 History Under the Site Info tab there is a History tab. Move your mouse cursor to this tab and click only once with you left mouse button on the History tab. The following screen will appear: When a client s history is searched, make sure that the correct client s information is displayed in the Site Id block. All the events or alarms will be displayed on this screen. At the Selection field you can select the type of event that you want to search. When you move your mouse cursor to the Date Range tick box and you have clicked with your left mouse button on this box, a pop up menu will appear. Move your mouse cursor to the buttons with a date on it and left click with your mouse button only once. Choose the date range you want to search. The selection will automatically be displayed in the block above the Selection field. Move your mouse cursor to the Call Detail button and click with your left mouse button only once. A pop up screen will appear with additional information. Move your mouse cursor to the OK button and click with your left mouse button only once.

23 VIEW IN CALLS On your main screen, move your mouse cursor to the View In Calls button and click with your left mouse button only once. The following screen will appear: This is an up to date listing of all the incoming signals by the base stations connected to your system. On this screen you can select to print just selected information, example Events, Sites etc. Call lists can be sorted and printed by the following selections. All : List all the signals received Controller : Select a controller from the drop down menu Event : Type in the event you want to view or print Site Id (Sender) : Type in the site id you want to view or print Site Id Event : Type in the site id of the event you want to view or print Event type : Type in the event type you want to view or print Date Range : Tick mark this block to select your date range to view or print Print button : Use this button to print the event that you selected. Close : Click on close to exit this screen.

24 CONTROLLER SETUP Events listed on all the controllers Add or Change buttons Print list button Close button Controllers is the type of base station being used in the control room to receive alarms from. In the Event Lists field are all the controllers currently being used by the QuTeWatch system. When you move your mouse cursor to the desired controller and click with your left mouse button only once on the controller a list of the controller event will be displayed on the right-hand side. The first block which is called Event numeric numbers should not be changed, because these numbers are dedicated by the base station. The second block is the Code field. These codes priorities the alarm and/or event being received. Code 01 to code 04 will be displayed on top of your Stack screen in your Actions field. This means that these alarms and/or events are first priority alarms or events. All the other codes will be listed below the priority codes. The next block is called Key. The Key block applies to events activated by key holders such as Open K/H 001". Key field should read the same as key holder no., i.e.: 001. Type on your keyboard the letter F or T. If you typed in the F key, your event will be displayed on the Stack field at your Actions screen. If you typed in the T key, your event will be displayed in your History. The next block Zone applies to events activated by Zone numbers such as Burglary Zone 001 The next block Auto must be set up as follow. Only true or false can be selected in this block. When a zone is False, the alarm or event will be displayed in the Stack on your Actions screen. If it is set to True your alarm or event will not be displayed in the Stack on your Actions screen but will be stored in your History field.

25 PROTOCOLS This Protocol List needs no or any changes, if these protocols need to be changed, please contact support for assistance.

26 ALERTS Alerts are settings you set to monitor events that run on a time schedule. A warning will be generated if the event does not occur according to your settings. Example Open & Close monitor times. Alerts set on this page are templates that can be used throughout QuTeWatch. If you set a specific alert on this page, you don t have to change all the alerts for every site you are going to use it for. New alerts can be added, or existing ones can be changed to suite your needs. Most of the alerts you may need are configured with installation and needs little or no change afterwards. Adding a new Alert or changing an existing one can be very confusing if you are not familiar with the Alert settings. Call support if you need to make any changes or add a new Alert.

27 CONTROLLERS CONTROLLERS ARE CONFIGURED WITH INSTALLATION AND NEEDS LITTLE OR NO CHANGE AFTER INSTALLATION. CONTACT SUPPORT BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY CHANGES.

28 DIARY ENTRIES Included in QuTeWatch is an Electronic Diary. With this build in function your company can keep an electronic diary. Diary Entries - Entries into the Electronic Diary can be made by all users on the system. It works on the same principle as a manual diary entry. If a diary entry is set, the time should be set for a minimum of 5 minutes forward to the time on the computer. When the time is not set 5 minutes forward, the system will not accept the entry. Move your mouse cursor to the button next to the Quick Date: date and click on the picture button only once with your left mouse button. Click with your left mouse button only once on the date you want to add a diary entry. Move your mouse cursor to the Add button and click with your left mouse button only once on the button. Above the Add button, an empty field with an Accept and Cancel buttons will appear. On your keyboard, type in the entry. Move your mouse cursor to the Accept button and click with your left mouse button only once on this button. Your diary entry has now been entered.

29 TO DO ACTIONS Move your mouse cursor to the Add button and click only once with your left mouse button on this button. On top of the Add button a screen will appear with open fields. In the first field, Time, type on your keyboard the time when the action needs to be done. On your keyboard, press the Tab key only once. Your next open field block, Site Name has now changed to blue. Next to the blue block is an arrow button, move your mouse cursor to this button and click only once with your left mouse button. A popup screen will appear with all the listed sites on your system. Type on your keyboard the first letter of the site, the system will view all the sites beginning with that letter. Move your mouse cursor to the desired site and click with your left mouse button only once on the site. The site has now been selected. In the next field, Event Instructions, type on your keyboard the event that needs to be done. Move your mouse cursor to the Accept button and click only once with your left mouse button on the Accept button. NOTE: The To Do List will not reflect on your action s screen. This is only used as a diary and must be checked regularly.
