UPDATE Introducing the HC5000 Finisher, PS7R9000 RIP In-line accessories bring more productivity, performance and value RISO Inc. is pleased to announce the availability of two exciting new accessories for the HC5000 ForceJet printer. The HC5000 Finisher brings powerful in-line finishing capabilities, and the new PS7R9000 RIP offers faster and more powerful printing capabilities. Last year the HC5000 exploded onto the color printing scene with never-before-seen capabilities targeted toward a market segment that was, and remains, wide open. Since its introduction, the HC5000 has had numerous awards and accolades bestowed upon it, and the industry is abuzz about 105 page per minute, full color printing for 3 cents a page. The HC5000 has made successful inroads in markets where our traditional duplicators were unknown. And the concept of high speed, low cost color - ComColor TM - is fast catching on. Today we are pleased to expand the HC s already exceptional capabilities. The HC Finisher brings stapling, hole punching, folding and bookletmaking capabilities in-line with the printing process. The HC Finisher is ideal for organizations where bringing these functions in-line improves their productivity. Examples of such organizations include schools/colleges, churches/religious institutions, commercial and corporate offices, retail stores, hotels, health clubs and recreational facilities, membership organizations and much, much more. The ComColor Management System included with the HC5000 makes printing virtually any communication document quick, easy and in color. Now, creating professional-looking booklets, calendars, newsletters and more can be achieved through a few clicks of the mouse*. User s can add the optional Touch Screen monitor to allow for easy display and troubleshooting of the finisher. *Note: Design limitations may apply to avoid ink build-up and transfer from rollers. 1

2 PS7R9000 RIP RISO, Inc. is also pleased to make available the PS7R9000 optional RIP. The PS7R9000 offers HC users enhanced print processing speeds. The PS7R9000 boasts a Pentium4 TM 3.4GHz processor with a 160GB hard disk drive, 1024MB of memory and true Adobe TM Level 3 TM PostScript TM printing. What this translates into is a RIP that s twice as fast. For customers with high-end printing requirements, certain variable data applications, and those wanting to connect the HC Finisher, the PS7R9000 is a must have. The PS7R9000 offers users robust printing control and management. The RIP utilizes a web interface allowing access from any computer on the network via the PS7R Console. The Console feature offers monitoring, job management, and account tracking functions. The Monitoring function allows users to see the status of the HC5000, ink levels and paper types loaded in the printer right from their desktop. The Job Manager function allows easy retrieval and printing from jobs stored on the PS7R9000. The PS7R9000 allows users two options for storing files easily and directly through the ComColor print driver. The first option enables storing a job directly on the hard drive for easy retrieval and printing from any connected computer. The second storage option is the ability to save files as forms. Commonly and frequently printed images such as company logos for letterhead and backgrounds for forms can be saved on the PS7R9000 as a form. User s can then overlay any file output to that form without having to recreate the entire image. The Custom Setting function allows user s and administrators to track jobs sent to the HC5000 or scanned from the scanning kit. Administrators can set how long jobs are kept. Administrators can distribute this information for department accounting purposes. PS7R9000 RIP Speed Comparison The PS7R9000 offers RIP speeds that are two s faster than that of the PS7R that ships included with the HC5000. Appendix A is a comparison of various job examples and their comparitive RIP speeds and average page per minute speeds. 2
