Early this month CBI had conducted a raid during a recruitment drive held in the city. Question papers will be sent to the examination centers in a sealed electronic box, which cannot be opened before the stipulated time. Device will sent message to base station requesting for password. After getting message from base station by authority and entered into the device. When the Password and timing matches, the box will open through a motorized mechanism. This will enable the papers to be locked and sealed till the point in \ time when the papers need to be brought out for the distribution to the students in the examination hall. 2 INTRODUCTION Examination is an assessment intended to measure the knowledge, skills, aptitude, physical fitness or classification in many other topics. A test may be administered orally, on paper, on a computer or in a confined area that requires an examinee to physically perform a set of skills. [1] The history of examination is very wide. The first a nationwide standardized test was implemented in China, which was called the imperial examination. The main purpose of this examination was to select able candidates for different governmental positions. The imperial examination was established in 605 AD. And thenafter different countries adopted the examination systems. England had adopted this examination system in 1806 to select the applicants for positions in Civil Services. This examination system was later applied to education and became a worldwide standard. [1] Every year news flashes in newspaper and television during the time of examination that the exam is being postponed/cancelled due to the leakage of question papers. Many times the leakage of question papers will not be known to the universities. In such conditions some students get good ranks by these leaked papers and those students who had worked hard have to compromise with less rank. This factor will have negative effect on the growth of the society.thus by considering the problems faced by the students and society a system has to be implemented which will help to detect and prevent the leakage of question papers. RELATED RESEARCH:- Today the system which is in wide use involves the practice followed from many years. This involves the sealed boxes containing the question papers which will be distributed to the examination centers. This system involves many disadvantages which may lead to leakage of question papers at various instances while the box is moved from printing location to examination centers. This happens due to easy tampering of sealed boxes and more human interference. The other method which is in use today involves the mailing of the question papers from the university to respective colleges prior to examination. The colleges take the printouts of the question paper and then the examination procedure follows. Even this particular method also involves many disadvantages. The sever breakdown may occur, website may be 1083

3 hacked, and more than 100 colleges should take printouts which involves the threats like power failure, system failure and leakage of the paper. The idea for the proposed system which involves the electronic protection is derived from modern day equipments like automated teller machine (ATM), Electronic lockers and other security enhanced electronic systems. This system involves the integration of certain electronic peripherals that works on the technologies based on RFID, GSM, IC, and UART. 4 to be used due to high rigidity as well as low cost as compare to other keypad. As the password contain only numeric values a 4*4 keypad can be use to load the password into processor. It consist of 16 buttons arranged in the form of an array containing 4 row and columns.[5] )RFID: The SMB 130 is a 8 pin DIP module that includes all necessary components for a13.56 MHz RFID aside form a PCB antenna. The module communicates over UART or IC with simple protocols. It also has two general purpose inputs and two general purpose outputs for switches and relays.[6] 3) LCD Display: It use to display the massage for local user. It is a 16* characters display.[7] 4) DC motor & motor driver: The L93 and L93D are quadruple high-current half-h drivers. The L93 is designed to provide bidirectional drive currents of up to 1 A at voltages from 4.5 V to 36 V. The L93D is designed to provide bidirectional drive currents of up to 600-mA at voltages from 4.5 V to 36 V. Both devices are designed to drive inductive loads such as relays, solenoids, dc and bipolar stepping motors, as well as other high-current/high- voltage loads in positivesupply applications. [8] 5) GSM Modem: The GSM Modem can accept any GSM network operator SIM card and act just like a mobile phone with its own unique phone number. The GSMmodem can use its RS3 port to communicate and develop embedded applications. Applications like SMS Control, data transfer, remote control and logging can be developed easily. The modem can either be connected to PC serial port directly or to any microcontroller. It can be used to send and receive SMS or make/receive voice calls. It can also be used in GPRS mode to connect to internet and do many applications for data logging and control.[9] 6)MAX3: MAX3 is from the family of MAX0 MAX49 line drivers/receivers is intended for all EIA/TIA-3E and V.8/V.4 communications interfaces, particularly applications where ±1V is not available. These parts are especially useful in battery-powered systems, since their low-power shutdown mode reduces power dissipation to less than 5µW. The MAX5, MAX33, MAX35, and MAX45/MAX46/MAX47 use no external components and are recommended for applications where printed circuit board space is critical.[10] 1085

5 HOW TO SYSTEM WORKS? GSM modem is connected to the box containing question papers along with the microcontroller. University board acts as the Base station. To open the question paper box, RFID is needed to be swiped with a valid RFID tag and then RFID will compare with EEPROM data such as RFID address, and time also. If the comparison is failure, then controller sends WRONG ACCESS message to the Base station through GSM modem and If anybody tries to open the box before the pre-defined time with a valid RFID tag also, then controller sends RULES VIOLATED message to the Base station through GSM modem. The password is sent from the Base station to the college at the time of opening the BOX. If the comparison is success, then the controller is waits for the password. If the person enters the wrong password, then controller sends PASSWORD MISMATCH message to the Base station through GSM modem. If the person enters the correct password, then BOX is opened with the help of the DC motor. After the exam is finished. If the BOX is not closed along with answer papers within the specified time given by the university, then controller sends RULES VIOLATED message to the Base station through GSM modem. Vibration transducer is integrated to the box which Detects unauthorized tampering. 1086

6 Fig. () flowchart of system works CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION: For this system we have used PIC controller for Much Flash memory for transmission, The RISC (Reduced Instructions Set Computer) microcontroller is a powerful tool that provides a highly flexible and cost-effective solutions to many embedded monitoring and diagnostic systems. The central unit has been made around of an PIC microcontroller with proposed architecture which will be used for GSM and Exam paper leakage protection system, also Easy to program it and writing or burning devices are available it also have inbuilt analog to digital convertor of i c module it is directly connected to controller pin and matrix keyboard and internal timer used for showing time and SMS sending we used LCD 16* and we used RFID redder module that is ID of project. Regulated power supply is used and step down transformer for this. The diagram for the Exam paper leakage protection system is shown in fig.1. Vibration sensor is connected to the port pin of Microcontroller. GSM Module is connected to the port pin of transmitter pin of microcontroller and receiver pin is connected to RFID reader module. Matrix key board connected to complete eight bit port. When did it gets vibrations before time then it will be connected to ground i. e. active low. And into controller programming we read the data from inbuilt. mob. No. and sent it to SMS sending i.e. at command format. Examination section of university can deliver the question papers to 1088

8 the examination centers by password protected electronic security. All these questions papers will have next level security using RFID.
