4 STEP 4: Add Alligator Clips and wires to connect speakers to breadboard STEP 5: Test It! DOES IT WORK?: Move on to step 6 IT DOES NOT WORK!: TURN IT OFF and troubleshoot Confirm the following: Power cord is plugged in You have power in the circuit (LED is lighting up) OR Audio cable is plugged in Volume is at 50% or greater and your audio device plays through other speakers All parts of schematic are correct : circle parts that are confusing for you Soldering is good with no short circuits on audio jack or power jack. Polorized components are not backwards. Integrated Circuit is not upside down. Alligator Clips have been tested for continuity (use multimeter).

5 STEP 6: Map Your Amplifier Circuit for Soldering IMPORTANT: DO NOT SOLDER AMPLIFIER IC DIRECTLY INTO CIRCUIT BOARD. USE THIS:

6 STEP 6: Solder the circuit STEP 7: Attach speaker wire to speakers and terminal blocks A. Solder wires to the terminals. Use heavy stranded wire not the thin solid wire! Pay attention to + and - B. Use terminal blocks to attach speaker to circuit board Solder wires to speaker terminals. Twist wire together with your fingers before soldering. Solder stranded wire to speaker terminals. Make sure you have enough wire to accommodate your design. After you have a terminal block soldered you can use a screwdriver to attach the other end of the speaker wires to the terminal blocks. Twist wire together with your fingers before putting it into the terminal. Try operating the terminal without the wire before you put the wire in so you can understand how the device holds the wire. STEP 8: Test It! IT WORKS!: You have completed the electronics portion of this project. You are ready to move onto the design and build stage. OR NEXT PAGE

7 IT DOES NOT WORK: TURN IT OFF and troubleshoot Confirm the following before asking for help: Power cord is plugged in You have power in the circuit (LED is lighting up) Audio cable is plugged in All parts at the top of the circuit are correct INCLUDING the SWITCH or WIRE. Volume is at 50% or greater and your audio device plays through other speakers All parts of schematic are correct : circle parts that are confusing for you Soldering is good with no short circuits. When I use the multimeter to test continuity between + and they do not beep (circuit must be turned off for this test). Soldering is good with no short circuits on audio jack Speakers are well soldered and correctly attached to terminal blocks. When I turn the circuit on and measure the voltage with the multimeter (touch + and on the circuit board the value is. Polarized components are not backwards. Integrated Circuit is not upside down.
