3 1: INTRODUCTION This document contains the information required to integrate an ISONAS PowerNet reader-controller with an Integrated Biometrics (IB) fingerprint reader. The configuration of the PowerNet (Model RC03) and supporting WIM are featured. The methods described in this document support the IB TRU550, TRU650 & TRU750 models of fingerprint readers. It is assumed that the installer is familiar with both the ISONAS Access Control System (PowerNet & Crystal Matrix software) and the Integrated Biometrics solution (TRUx50 reader and BIO-I software). 4 1.1: SOLUTION OVERVIEW: The integration of the Integrated Biometrics TRUx50 fingerprint reader to the ISONAS system is diagramed in Figure 1. Figure 1 Both the TRUx50 fingerprint reader and the ISONAS reader-controller are located at the door location. For some installations, the ISONAS reader might be mounted in a location that is not accessible by the users, but rather hidden somewhere near the door. The TRUx50 can be configured to require a fingerprint only or a fingerprint & proximity credential. When the user presents the proper fingerprint/credential to the TRUx50 reader, the user s fingerprint/card combination is validated and then the credential data is passed from the TRUx50 to the ISONAS PowerNet readercontroller. The ISONAS system validates that the user is allowed access, and then operates the door lock. The system s users are enrolled into the Integrated Biometrics system with both their fingerprints and the assigned credential ID. The user would be enrolled into the ISONAS system with that same assigned credential ID. The ISONAS Wigand Interface Module (WIM) [PN: ACC-WIM] is used to convert the Wiegand data generated by the TRUx50 into RS-232 data, that is passed to the PowerNet. The WIM is designed to support the RC03 (or later) versions of the PowerNet. TRU650 Fingerprint Integration 4

2.2: BASIC SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION: 2.2.1: BIO-I SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION (Version 3.2.4): When using ISOANS-formatted HID cards, within the Integrated Biometrics BIO-I software, define an ISONAS Card type, as shown below.

2.2.2: BIO-I SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION USERS: During the User enrollment process, assign a card to each user. Select the Card Type of ISONAS. Type in the Card Number, consisting of 2 to 8 digits.

7 2.2.2: BIO-I SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION USERS: During the User enrollment process, assign a card to each user. Select the Card Type of ISONAS. Type in the Card Number, consisting of 2 to 8 digits. This will be the credential number that is passed to the Crystal Matrix software, to identify this person. So, this same number will also need to be entered into the Crystal Matrix software. Complete the remainder of the BIO-I enrollment process for each user. Push the updates to the TRUx50 readers. TRUx50 Fingerprint Integration 7

9 2.2.4: CRYSTAL MATRIX SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION USERS: Add each user into the Crystal Matrix software. Assign a credential to the user, that matches the number entered into the BIO-I software, and is marked as Valid for Badge Complete the remainder of the Crystal Matrix enrollment process for each user. 2.3: SINGLE-FACTOR FINGERPRINT VERIFICATION: 2.3.1: OVERVIEW: This section describes configuring the system so the end-user needs to only present their fingerprint to gain access thru the door.

The major steps are: Configure the TRUx50 for single token operation Enroll the end-user into the BIO-I software. Assign them a credential number Enroll the end-user into the Crystal Matrix software. Assign them the same credential number. Note: For this configuration, it is not required for the PowerNet to be HIDenabled : BIO-I SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION -- TRUx50: Configure the TRUx50, to use Single Token and the Card Site Code. 11 2.3.3: SOLUTION TEST: User presents their finger to the TRUx50. The activity should be logged within the Crystal Matrix software, and if the user is allowed access, at this time, the door should be opened. 2.4: DUAL-FACTOR FINGERPRINT / PROX VERIFICATION: 2.4.1: OVERVIEW: This section describes configuring the system so the end-user needs to present both their fingerprint and their proximity card to the TRUx50, to gain access thru the door. The major steps are: Configure the TRUx50 for multi token operation Enroll the end-user into the BIO-I software. Assign them the credential number that is printed on the ISONAS supplied HID card. Enroll the end-user into the Crystal Matrix software. Assign them the same credential number. Note: For this configuration, it is not required for the PowerNet to be HIDenabled. But if the user has need to present their credential directly to the PowerNet, then it must be HID-enabled : BIO-I SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION -- TRUx50: Please note: The ISONAS system s configuration may be influenced by the specific HID proximity format that your HID credentials use. The examples discussed in this document have been tested with the HID proximity format that ISONAS supplies. To assure that the credential ID are consistant, your system s PowerNets should be configured to operate in Advanced HID mode, with a bit-mask of FFFFFF If your credentials use a different HID format, then you may see one credential number being generated when the card is read by the ISONAS reader and another credential number when the card is read by the TRUx50 reader. Configure the TRUx50, to use Multi Token, Card + Fingerprint and the Card Site Code. TRUx50 Fingerprint Integration 11
