1 Asset Investment Recovery Ministry of Management Services BC Auction System Bidder Guide This guide has been prepared in support of Bidder s use of BC Auction. The guide is divided into three sections: 1) Bidder Registration 2) Bidding 3) Paying

3 1. Access the BC Auction Site From your Internet Explorer session, access the BC Auction site. Enter the Internet address as: Click on Go 14 October 2004 Page: 3of 22

4 2. Bidder Registration (Step 1) click on the Bidder Registration link. Go to Step 2.1 Go to Step 3 if already registered as a Bidder. 14 October 2004 Page: 4of 22

5 2.1. Bidder Registration Terms and Conditions (Step 2) The registering Bidder must accept the BC Auction Terms and Conditions of use. click on the I Agree button at the bottom of the Terms and Conditions. Review all of the Terms and Conditions. Go to Step October 2004 Page: 5of 22

6 2.2. Bidder Registration Personal Information and User ID (Step 3) The registering Bidder must provide some personal identification information along with their chosen User ID and Password values. Enter all of the data. The values with and asterisk (*) are mandatory. The Account Type will be BC Auction Account. The User Id and Password are values of your choice and you will need to logon to BC Auction using the entered values. click on the Submit and Continue button at the bottom of this screen. 7 2.3. Bidder Registration Product Information (Step 4) The registering Bidder may provide the product(s) they are interested in if they have selected the option to receive nightly notification in the previous registration step. Check any or all of the products shown. click on the Finish button. Go to Step October 2004 Page: 7of 22

8 2.4. Bidder Registration Welcome to BC Auction (Step 5) You are now automatically logged into BC Auction using the User ID and Password that you specified. You can proceed with any of the options available to Bidders. These options are described in the next section of this document. 14 October 2004 Page: 8of 22

9 3. Logon to BC Auction (Step 1) click on the Logon to BC Auction Go to Step October 2004 Page: 9of 22

10 4. Logon to BC Auction (Step 2) Use the User ID, Password and Account Type that you chose when registering as a Bidder. click on the Submit button when you have entered the User ID, Password and Account Type. Go to Step 5 14 October 2004 Page: 10of 22

11 5. Logged on, Bidder Options click on one of the available options. Go to Step October 2004 Page: 11of 22

12 5.1. Browse Auctions The Browse Auctions options are displayed. clicked on the Browse Auctions option. clicked on the Featured Items options for this example. In addition to the browse options, a Display Order can be selected. Go to Step October 2004 Page: 12of 22

13 Browse Auctions list click on the Auction that you are interested in browsing. In this example we see only one auction item found. Go to Step October 2004 Page: 13of 22

14 Browse Auction The selected auction is now displayed. click on the action that you wish to perform. The actions are listed on the left hand side of the screen. At this point, we will bidding on the auction by entering a Bid amount and submitting the bid - Submit your bid now button. Go to Step To see the results of your bid entry ($ amount entered). 15 Bid on this Auction The selected auction is now displayed. On the previous screen we had entered a maximum bid of $ The person that we had outbid received an as follows: Subject: BC Auction: You have been out-bid on Auction A25 This is a notice from BC Auction A bidder has placed a higher bid on auction A25, Shed. The auction closes at 2004/10/30 18:00, to place a new bid CLICK HERE to bring up the auction, then select Logon to signon and then place your bid. click on the Back to Auction button to return to step October 2004 Page: 15of 22

16 5.2. View Bidders click on the View Bidders action to see a list of all bidders. click on the Close action. 14 October 2004 Page: 16of 22

17 5.3. Add to Watch List click on the Add to Watch List action to add this Auction to your list of auctions that you are interested in. You will automatically receive s of auction changes. click on the Submit button to confirm. 14 October 2004 Page: 17of 22

Questions Asked click on the Questions Asked action to view any questions. click on the listed question and the details of the question will be displayed. click on the New to generate a new question that will be answered and posted back onto the Questions Asked. You can also do this by clicking on the Ask a Question action. 14 October 2004 Page: 18of 22

19 6. Winning Bidder Pays Check Out From the main logon screen select the Check Out option to pay for any winning auctions. click on the Check Out action. click on the Auction you wish to pay. click on the Pay Now button. 14 October 2004 Page: 19of 22

20 6.1. Pay Now click on the Credit Card being used. action. Enter the credit card number and expiry date. click on the Pay Now button. 14 October 2004 Page: 20of 22
